Disappointing site

Arrived on site after a 5 hour drive. Traffic Noise on site terrible. We come on holiday for peace and quiet but impossible on this site. Pitches by playground right next to road like staying in motorway stop!! Can't sit outside due to too much noise. Changed pitch on second day which was slightly better. Toilets also closed at 10:30 awkward times if you had a relaxing morning and wanted a later shower or even washing the dishes place was closed till 12!!! Wardens not very friendly. Very dissapointing not usual standards

Noisy Motorcycles

This is another of our favourite sites - but this stay spoiled by some very noisy motor cyclists who seem to be totally oblivious to the speed limits on the Henley to Marlow road. The site itself is clean and tidy and the Wardens friendly and helpfull. Again peace and quiet spoiled by the Toilet disposal having to be "Dyno rodded" due to people putting wipes etc., down it. Can't be helped but that combined with the "bikes" tended to make it less than a quiet weekend

Spring break

We stay at this site at least twice a year as it is close to family. Whilst it is a superb site for us, I was a little disappointed this time. Only in that I was unable to order and receive my daily paper in the mornings! We enjoy having a lazy breakfast reading the paper, knowing we do not have to go out of the site to buy one. Please bring this service back, I'm sure we are not the only ones that use this service. Hopefully you will reconsider ordering newspapers again in the future and before we revisit in July.

poor

On arrival at this site it was obvious that it was poorly maintained due to lack of sineage and mud covered narrow access roads. The posts housing the card readers for exiting the site were badly placed an falling out of the ground. The pitches are very narrow and are in need of redressing. The amenity block was clean but had very low water pressure and often did not have hot water. Not very good value for money,! Also traffic noise is constant. Noise and odour from nearby sewage farm can be a problem.

Nice small site

We had a lovely week - facilities were excellent.  Not much to do for teenagers but close enough to walk into Henley with lovely pubs & shops. Glad we parked on the rear side of the park away from the road noise which can be quite loud. Roadway extremely tight for  manoeuvring the caravan as access road is not wide enough and grass areas were extremely wet.  Pitch was a good size allowing small awning and parking for vehicle.

Henley Four Oaks - an excellent base!

We are a family of four with two children aged 14 & 11. We had a week’s break in the Easter holiday last week. Our aim was to have 3 busy, packed days in London site seeing & do some local exploring. We achieved this & Henley was an excellent site/base for us! We had 3 trips in to London & a trip to Windsor.  London was amazing & Windsor Castle was stunning. All our trips were by train from Henley station. The station was a short journey from the site, parking was easy at the station with fair prices, the GWR ticket kiosk lady was helpful & friendly, we have a family railcard so the prices were reasonable, the trains were frequent both ways, all in all hassle free travelling! Locally we travelled in to Henley itself, Marlow, Little Marlow & Cookham lovely places, very pretty. We spent an afternoon in Henley Rowing Museum if you like rowing, marine craft, marine history etc the museum is well worth a visit! It has a lovely restaurant too. We had a lovely pub lunch in Henley on Easter Sunday. Henley Four Oaks was brilliant a convenient site to explore. We will be back! There is more to life than Wi-Fi speeds, but the site Wi-Fi was poor & slow unfortunately.

Bicycle thief

Stay marred by theft of expensive bike sometime between dusk and dawn. The bike was chained with another bike to a tree. Thief cut through chain ( had they done a reccy during the day?) and we could see the wheel track in the grass leading to the gate to the road. Wardens didn't seem too interested  so just a warning to others with good bikes.

Excellent

Stayed 4 nights from 1st day of opening 2016. Lovely clean site in a fabulous position 20 min walk to Henley on Thames. Wardens were new to the site but very friendly and helpful. Pitches are easily accessible and spacious. We will definitely return and look forward to our next visit.
