Henley

Site is well run, however it can get extremely busy. The site appears to have used every available space. Shower block is clean and has plenty of cubicles, however I think its time for an update. (old style showers, etc) Could be justified with the high income for this site. We initially booked for 3 nights and then added an extra night but were told we may have to move. We thought it a little unnecessary for one night but moved to a quite pitch away from the road. Overall good site close to Henley town.

Something different

We spent a week at whit at Henley four oaks. Nice compact site first impressions. Wardens helpful and friendly. We got a hardstanding near the toilets. TV good managed satellite TV signal. Excellent location within walking distance of Henley, though Road is very busy a can get noisy at times. Planes were noisy and frequent as well over the bank holiday weekend but thinned out during the week. Site handy for Windsor, Oxford, Ascot and London. Will go again hopefully better weather next time. Please keep speed down on site, SOME DON'T. Play area in a col- de-sack pretty safe area. office also sells local meats, sausage and burgers for BBQ 's.

London Base

We visited here as a base for visiting London to do Trooping of the Colour. Site wardens were very helpful explaining the best routes/train stations. Pleasant site that does have some road noise but the views of the Red Kites flying overhead, the wildlife more than made up for it and was a pleasant distraction. Will definitely return...can't wait

Mixed feelings

Mixed feelings are because the location of the site is great - easy walk into Henley and great walks along the Thames and beyond - but although road noise has previously been mentioned, the aircraft noise has not. On arrival no-one could say which sites were free - finding one was tricky. The site boundaries are not easy to work out - I know some of this is due to rabbits making their way under grass sites. People were driving round and round looking for a space - next to the road was so noisy at times. Apparently some caravanners had moved to another spot and not told the wardens! The wardens were lovely though and overall we had a good few days.

Good location

Good location not really bothered by road noise just early morning air traffic ! As mentioned previously we also found one of the wardens rather abrupt on two occasions. Firstly on arrival there was a queue of people waiting to check in and one guy had a problem and she really showed him up in front of us all. Secondly we were about to leave but unfortunately our motorhome  would not start !After a few attempts we went to reception to advise them but sadly it was the same person with the unfortunate attitude we had witnessed on our arrival. Her reply was 'you'll have to move it as we are full this weekend!' Obviously we wanted to move the van but at that moment would have appreciated a more sympathetic reply, thankfully it was a minor problem and we were able to leave with only a small delay.

Location location

This site is ideally suited for Henley on Thames, walks along the river, legoland. It is easy to get to. The staff were friendly and the wash block was clean and kept to a high standard. The WiFi worked well. TV reception and ee phone signal were great. There is also a reasonable play area for 3-10 year old. The site is quite noisy. The main road is the other side of the hedge. So pitch as far away from the road as possible. The only real problem with this site is it is not suitable for older children. There is not the space for them to run about and play without running between pitches. So a great location for all but not the ideal location for those with teenage children.

Noisy!

The site is in a good position for the town but the road noise is horrendous! One of the members of staff is also rude and unhelpful. My husband arrived on the pitch at 7.45pm and then had some comments about not being able to get on site if it was after 8pm which it was not!!! The attitude of the staff make you feel like you are an inconvenience.

Henley Four Oaks May 2016

Thoroughly enjoyed my few days at Henley Furry Coats ( sorry Four Oaks ! ) Purely there for a visit to "The Neighbours Birthday Party" -- ( the steam rally for Sir William McAlpine's 81st !) I found no problems in sleeping even tho' I was pitched along side the main road, but then that might be just me !! A short stroll took me into Henley with no problems walking along the main road but that might not be the case for very young or very old, but I do recall seeing the bus stops at regular intervals so even those are catered for ! No doubt I will return !!

Pleasant Stay

Just returned from four days at Henley. Despite other reviews mentioning the road noise we didn't really notice it, but were lucky to be at the rear of the site. Site is extremely well kept by the resident wardens who were very welcoming when we arrived. Great location for visits to Windsor (LEGOLAND), Clivedon Gardens and Runnymede. Would certainly recommend this site.

great site but!

what a lovely site, pity about the road and air traffic noise. we have never seen crows behave in this manner before, sat on car wing mirrors pecking the windows and stood on the roof pecking, annoying to say the least. Apart from that a nice convenient site with nice walks and nice places to visit.
