The site is small but nicely located in a great area for walking or visiting nearby Hebden Bridge or Haworth.
The wardens are not very friendly and lack customer service skills. During our stay I think they had upset at least 4 other caravaners with their bossy, dictatorship approach including one couple who said they had been members for 40 years and had never met such a rude warden. The male warden then just blanked everyone he had upset and his wife said she was deaf to anyone who questioned her. Maybe they had, had a hard bank holiday weekend and we got the fall out from it, but it did spoil ours and others stay.
Wardens aside this is a lovely site but while those two are in post its a site we will be avoiding.
This was yet another return to this local charming site, again happy helpful wardens on arrival, we booked a serviced pitch with all usual amenities to hand, great weather helps, lovely canal walk into Hebden Bridge then on our return a couple of pints in the Barbary opposite Sainsburys would recommend this place.
Overall another great stay and will surely be returning if we can get on as it is becoming a very popular site. 🤞
This site is so well located for Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area. Just far enough out of the town but near enough to be only a short drive. It is a small site, we usually use the larger club sites, and has no facilities but as we now use our own facilities this was the reason it was chosen. it is laid out beautifully and is well landscaped and maintained. We opted to put our caravan against the wall at the top of the site where the whole area was empty. We assumed that was because the road was the other side of the wall, but because of the height of the wall we were not disturbed by any noise at all. Most people put their motorhomes and caravans on the opposite side next to the very pretty gorge.
there is a small dog walking area off the site which was ample for our very elderly jack russell, but would not have been a walk for our German Shepherd if we had still had her, but it is ample for a stretch of the legs and ablutions.
the staff were friendly and helpful as always and the water, rubbish, and elsan facilities were central and very accessible to everyone.
all in all we will be back and i recommend this site to anyone visiting this gorgeous area.
Just a heads up for anyone new to the site. Reception is closed between 1-5pm and reopens for one hour at 5pm. They will take card payments over the phone if you are away from the site or do as we did and pay the next morning. This isn’t clear on their welcome pack. Aside from that it is a lovely site but basic site. Only one service point.
We usually visit this site every year and I wanted to mention how friendly and pleasant this year’s wardens are (Linda & Peter). They were very welcoming when we arrived and when we went to pay for an extra night when our daughter came to stay.
First visit to hebden bridge in the middle of August 21,
This was a small well kept site , there is no toilet facilities on site .
wardens do keep the site very clean. pitches are hard standing but are on a slope , you do need levelers on the top pitches .
Dog walk on site by main gates witch is very small and on slope .
site was easy to find just off main road.
Having just arrived back from a relaxing sunny we now feel refreshed as we find this Site very charming it is only 40 miles from home and easy to reach.
If I do have one negative I agree with a previous review about people cutting through serviced pitches (42) to reach the service point.
The wardens friendly and helpful on check in.
We will return to this charming site the one negative cannot spoil a great weekend.
It is a good CAMC site amongst trees and the website is clear about there being no facilities so you do need to be independent. Welcome was efficient and I had phoned ahead to let the site managers know I was delayed
In pretty awful traffic. They were great and very helpful
Hebden Bridge is some distance away from the site at Mythhomroyd / Crag Vale which is a bit misleading on the name. HB itself is very Bohemian and photogenic and good for pubs and eateries
Many thanks team CAMC
We love this site and it is conveniently situated near family so we will definitely be back. We found the wardens to be friendly and efficient. Our only complaint is people walking across the serviced pitches on dog walks or to reach the service area.
We have an 8.5 metre motorhome. On arrival the wardens notice at reception said - your on pitch 15 due to size. Fantastic, no trying to squeeze in and no queuing to check in either! Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them, even fitting us in an extra night. Site, pitches and facilities all immaculately kept. Yes the dog walk is a tad small, especially if you happen to have 45 kg of German shepherd! Just walk out the site, down hill on the pavement for no more than 200 metres, turn left and your on miles and miles of tracks, footpaths. Walked into Hebden Bridge that way one day and walked back along the canal to Mythemroyd, then it’s only a mile uphill back to the site on pavements - 6 miles total. If you don’t want to drive there’s a bus stop right outside the site entrance with a regular bus service. We’ll be back.
