A quiet and well-run site but not as close to Hebden Bridge as we hoped, and not good for dogs.

We spent four nights at this site. It is easy to find and the access is good. The pitches are (fairly) level and graveled. Some pitches are fully serviced. Most are partially shaded. There is no toilet or shower block. This is a small site just outside a village called Mytholmroyd. Hebden Bridge is a good 50 minute walk away. This was disappointing to discover as I was there alone for part of the stay, with no car, and I'd planned to spend the day in Hebden Bridge. If I'd read the reviews I would have found this out, but I wrongly assumed the 'Hebden Bridge' site was close to Hebden Bridge. We visited Haworth and the Halifax Piece Hall while we were there. The site was convenient for both these places. My main issue is with the dog-walking area, which is tiny, muddy, and not secure, so I couldn't allow our dogs off the lead. The male warden was stroppy when our dogs (on their leads of course) strayed onto the grass adjacent to unoccupied pitches as were en route to the dog area. A friendly word would have been so much better. Afterwards, I felt anxious every time I needed to take the dogs out. Luckily, the weather was poor so we spent our time at the site inside the caravan.

Loved it!

Had an excellent visit. In pitch 1 which had a gently babbling brook right behind it and it was a lovely noise to go to sleep to and wait up to (with the bird song too). We walked up to the Robin Hood pub (not the one in Hebden Bridge with the same name) and it was fantastic. Definitely book a meal there. Got the train from Mytholmroyd (about 1 mile away and walkable down pavement) into Halifax (a tip from the locals at Robin Hood) which was interesting - especially Piece Hall and the Calderdale Industrial Museum.

Lovely site in an excellent location

This is our second visit to Hebden bridge, the site is basic but lovely, the wardens were very polite and even phoned us when we where travelling to them to check everything was ok. When we arrived the office was closed but we just followed the instructions on the office door and found our pitch and then paid in the morning. Hebden Bridge is a 50 minute walk from the site and is is a lovely walk. Plenty to do in the surrounding area and we will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Lovely site managers

I stayed for 8 nights in July 2022. The site managers were lovely - friendly, welcoming, very helpful (I travel in a motorhome as a single woman, I'm still getting used to it after 6 months/5 trips and need a bit of help/advice sometimes) and with a great sense of humour. Very nice quiet site.

Great stay

Stayed July 2022. Very quiet clean well maintained site. Close to Hebden bridge. Great transport links. Very helpful, friendly wardens who helped us resolve an issue with our caravan electrics . Looking forward to returning.

First time at Hebdon Bridge Campsite - Excellent

The site is excellent. It's very well kept, with good size pitches and the wardens Peter and Lynda were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about local walks. The site is approximately 15-20 minutes walk to the centre of Mytholmroyd, where there is a very good bus service to various places in Yorkshire. It is a lovely walk from there to Hebdon Bridge along the canal approx 45 minutes. Would recommend the Robin Hood for something to eat, all food homemade. Staff were very good. 20 minute walk from the site.

Special place with special wardens Linda/Peter

Excellent site. Simple layout together with close proximity to local sites of interest. The real stars of the show however on our visit where Wardens Peter and Linda. We arrived 10/05/22 and enjoyed a friendly welcome and banter with them. About 5.30am the next morning Ian my husband awoke with abdominal and chest pains. We called an ambulance and advised the wardens of its pending arrival. Peter was up and there to meet it. After investigation Ian was taken to nearby Halifax Hospital for investigation. Many tests where done during the day. Mean while back at the site Sue was being shown by Peter how to empty both foul waste cassette and grey waste container. In case Ian was to be kept in Hospital. This meant Linda was left to hold the fort alone. All tests done and pointing to possible viral hepatitis. Ian was discharge early evening. With follow up back with his GP. The wardens kindness didn't stop there. On being told Ian was being discharged. They quickly finishing there tea. Peter taking Sue to pick Ian up and return to site. So if there is award for excellence and help above and beyond. Then this couple deserve to be on the list. We offered out of pocket expenses but none where excepted. Just a thank you and to know all was now ok. So Caravan and camping club be aware you have 2 very special people working for you. Thanks again Peter and Linda. Enjoy you week off in Lanzarote.

First visit

A friendly, polite & informative greeting at reception. Great value & beautiful surroundings. A bus stop outside the entrance to take you to Hebden & Todmorden etc. My wife & I really enjoyed the ambiance of this site.
