Great walking and cycling base

Really enjoyed our stay here, just a quick trip only an hour from home. Great sunny setting shaded by mature trees we parked next to the river. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Tour de France route outside the site, great cycling and walking. Stoodley pike direct from the site, Hebden Bridge canal paths still diverted following recent flooding but still a worthwhile walk recommend this place we will be back

Haven of tranquility in unspoilt beauty!

We stayed at this lovely site for two nights 13th to 15th May 2016 in Bessie (our motorhome) We were attending the 1940's Wartime weekend in Howarth and this was an ideal site from which to travel. Friends drove over for the day and we took the steam train from Oxenhope to Howarth (great fun) The new wardens Steve and Dee are a delightful couple and gave us a really warm welcome. They directed us to our choice of pitches and where to full up our onboard tank. We had pitch 27 with EHU which overlooks the small river below. The pitch benefitted from the early morning sunshine and we were able to breakfast outside which was a treat! There are no showers or toilets on this site but that was not a problem and is perfectly clear on the website. Plenty of bins and of course Chemical disposal point. The site is a 50 minute walk along the canal tow path to Hebden Bridge which is well worth the effort. Full marks to the site and Steve and Dee, they even got us thinking about a complete career change! Thank you we will return!

Mytholmrod not Hebden Bridge

We arrived to find I had unfortunately failed to read the small print or narrowed my site search properly - no showers or toilet block, but my fault entirely! However. It's a really beautiful spot and the wardens keep the grounds perfectly, very tranquil!  We had a walk into Hebden Bridge alongside the Rochdale Canal in the rain which was both different and enjoyable. The White Lion, provided a nice lunch and welcoming log fire. Also met up with our daughter who came across from Burnley and enjoyed a early evening meal at Aux Delices a small bistro in Mytholmroyd. Overall a great 3 days in an area not previously visited. Thank you

Small quiet site with good walks

Lovely welcome and nice small site.  No facilities but we knew this before we booked.  Shame the Motor home point is on the way out and on the wrong side but luckily there was nobody staying nearby so we were able to reverse onto a pitch to turn and face the right way.  The Wardens were great and allowed us to stay until 4pm on the day of our departure which was a real bonus.  There are some great walks nearby.  The dog walk is at the back of the site.  A bit muddy and slippy but good enough for a quick walk.  We walked to Hebden Bridge down the canal way which took about 50 minutes on the first day and on the second we walked to NT Gibson Mill and Hardcastle Crags which is about an 8 mile circular walk.  It's a lovely area and would return.

Nice site

Nice welcome, very nice site, only down side is that the water for the motor home station had frozen during the night so we couldn't clean things out. Not the owners fault but more insulation needed please. It's a shame it's called Hebden Bridge as really it's Mythomroyd.

I&k

Had a lovely weekend here. Despite finding out that not all caravan club sites have toilet block and showers on site.  I need to read small print in future. Lovely quite friendly site within walking distance of Hebdon bridge ( 50 min down canal) Also a number of lovely walks from site ( hilly ).This site has taught me not to be too dippendant on facilities   , it is in a lovely setting . No toilet would have probably put me off booking. Thanks for a lovely relaxing weekend

Lovely and Quiet Site

Lovely and quiet site with friendly and helpful wardens. Perfect location for the many beautiful walks nearby. Stayed for a weekend break in March with our young son and we thoroughly enjoyed it.  No facilities on this site but didn't affect our stay in any way at all.

my local !!

visited this site last weekend ,went last year and put up a tent to house my Portaloo so this year after changing things around in my small camper found room to put my Portaloo inside ,so as this site is only 33 miles from me I can frequent it often during the summer ,only given it 3 stars for facilities as it not have a toilet block and also can't say if it is suitable for families ,lovely wardens ,and the lady warden remembered me from last year and pointed out a good pitch where I could go to be in sun in the morning ,shame local pub is shut but hopefully it will be open soon

Last minute break

This was a last minute decision trip, definitely one of our best, we only live 30 miles away and this was our first visit but not our last has we have already booked to go again, site and wardens are fantastic, the wardens are friendly and very helpful, idyllic and quiet spot, there are 2 pubs within walking distance unfortunately one is closed due to the floods, there is a bus stop outside the site which we found useful saves using the car, Hebden Bridge is a great little town and its fantastic to see how the local businesses have coped and reopened, do not let the lack of facilities on site put you off going as the surrounding area more than compensates,  looking forward to our next visit so as we can walk into town via the canal as this time it was very wet. PS when approaching on Burnley road and you need to turn left onto new road over bridge it can be a bit tight with on coming traffic.  The clubs hidden gem for us.

Good little site

Its just on the edge of town and about 45 minutes walk to hebden bridge. Its unfortunate that the flood devestated the area so a lot of places are still closed. There is a pub about 1 mile away the Robin Hood. There is also one in the town that is being refurbished at the moment, The site was clean and tidy has no shower or toilet facilities but we didnt find that an issue. We would definately return (once the devestation is repaired) but we had a good stay and if you are just looking for peace and quiet its as good a place as any. Lots of walks in the area around Hebden.
