Idyllic spot, shame no toilet block

We stopped here for just one night in March 2016, and were struck by how peaceful and atmospheric the location is.   Wardens were lovely, and the site is immaculate. Shame there isn't a toilet block, so I imagine that families with children would find more than a few nights stay problematic, with no showering facilities.  I know all vans these days have showers, but for us anyway using our own shower is definitely a last resort, we much prefer to use the Club's showers if available.  It is a small site so probably not feasible.   Magical place nevertheless......

Hebden Bridge Needs You

A great site, quiet with a stream and nice surroundings. You can get bus from outside site entrance into Hebden Bridge or you can walk along side of canal to the town. The title says the rest the town is still recovering from the Boxing day floods, yes a lot of businesses are still closed but the town is coming back to life it deserves the support to help it regenerate, it is a quirky town lovely people, great local shops well worth a visit. If you are looking for something different give Hebden Bridge a try.

Great little site

Don't be put off by the lack of shower and toilet facilities at this site - the friendliness and helpfulness of the wardens was a breath of fresh air after staying at some other club sites recently. Location-wise, you can't go wrong with the interesting weirdness of Hebden Bridge.

1st weekend away this year

This was our first trip away this year & we decided to visit Hebden Bridge caravan Club Site. Which is actually in Mytholmroyd. I was a bit apprehensive as i have never stayed on a site before with no toilet facilities. However this didn't turn out to be a problem at all & we had a great time here. the site is very clean & the staff are very friendly & helpful. The weather was very nice as well which always helps. you can walk from the site into Hebden Bridge along the canal which is a very pleasant stroll on a nice day & is approx 3 miles each way. a lot is still closed in the area due to the flooding, but there was still plenty of places open to get supplies, have a drink or something to eat. we will definitely be back again.

Lovely site

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely warden in the shop.  She is really nice and friendly.  We were by the stream and it was very pretty.  You get get up behind the stream for walking and dog walking.  The site was quiet and we spoke to a couple of friendly people.  Nice walk along the canal into Hebden Bridge.  Only down site was no WIFI.  We have our own business and have to answer emails even at the weekends.  That said though we will definitely stay again.

Excellent location and peaceful

Not really Hebden Bridge, that requires the bus or train unless you fancy the walk.  But buses and trains ran with fantastic frequency from Mytholmroyd which is about 15 minutes walk.  Good pub in the village (Shoulder of Mutton).  Beautiful setting with fantastic hill walks.  Good transport links to Halifax, Leeds, Huddersfield and Manchester if you want the bigger towns and cities.  I know the club can't control some things but with poor digital TV (unless you have a decent dish), poor DAB and FM reception and virtually no data it would be really helpful if wifi was available.

Great Site & Staff

We stayed recently at the site, having stayed there before. We've always found the site clean and well run. During our stay I had the misfortune to fall while walking our dog at night. Thanks to the diligence of the site staff the emergency services were called. Had they not done this then a far more serious situation would have developed. I can't thank them enough for their professional manner and their kindness. This is a superb site in a superb location with excellent staff.

quiet site

I've just looked at my notes from our stay in April 2015 for 4 nights. "Quiet club site, no facilities, small shop, poor tv reception on some pitches -will return" we are not dog owners but we appreciate the fact that dogs can be walked off site aren't all dogs walked in streets? The site is ideally located for walks into Hebden Bridge and also along the canal. It is a clean well kept site We are hoping to return next year

Immaculate site.

Do not agree with the last review. we have stayed here 3 times now and staying again in a couple of weeks time. We do not use club sites very often, but we love the peace and quiet of this site. We have a dog and have never had any concerns taking him for a walk. We have always found the site to be immaculate and the sound of the river to be very restful. Please please do not be put off by the last review and give this site a try, you will not be disappointed.

I'd Find another site if you wish to sleep before midnight!!!

We had looked forward to our long weekend for several weeks and are not usually disappointed by club sites. This site however is special in all the wrong ways. Cars and motorhomes it appears can come and go at all hours slamming doors. I am sure the average cars only has five, not on this site ! You are even allowed to wheel spin motor homes into position in a special way at midnight ! The stream you can just about here over the road noise. You cannot walk you dog around the site !! Does it say this in the site directory NO. You have to walk beside a main road average speed of 50-60 mph ( do not take children). The site is not well kept, water stopped when we arrive, grass is to long the place is not well run give it a miss.. Go somewhere else... Shame the surrounding area is great. This site is rubbish and not up to caravan club standards. Not good for people, dogs, children or any form or human being...

Comment from The Club

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at the site. Regrettably on that particular evening there was a medical emergency which resulted in police cars and an ambulance being despatched to the site in addition to the use of the police helicopter.  This naturally resulted in some disturbance with doors being opened  and closed and the “wheel spin of a motor home at midnight” was the ambulance arriving.   As I am sure you will understand the wardens are responsible for the smooth operation and management of the site as well as the safety of members and the wardens acted in a prompt and responsible manner and worked really hard together with the emergency services.  Many apologies if this caused a disturbance to yourselves and other members on site. If you had raised your concerns with the wardens the following morning they would have been able to explain the situation to you.

Regarding dog walking on site.  The site at Hebden Bridge is small with only 42 pitches and the symbols in the handbook show “dog walk nearby” rather than “dog walk on site”. The wardens assure me that the site leaflet which is given out to everyone when they arrive states dogs must be walked off site.  In addition there is a general information sheet which is handed out which highlights the nearby walk onto the river path or up onto the Moors.  This does mean a short 5 minute walk along the B road.  This is however, the only way to get to the dog walk which includes a popular walk into Hebden Bridge where many members like to visit the rather unique Lampost Café (a café for dogs) where they serve homemade healthy dog treats and dogs have their own bowl of water!

Regarding the grass length – the wardens assure me that the grass is cut weekly to ensure it meets the standards set by The Club. Once again thank you for leaving a review and we hope this helps to address some of your concerns.
