Just stayed at the Hebden Bridge site, what a lovely site. The wardens were very friendly, very clean site kept very tidy at all times. Beautiful walks around the area, good pubs to visit in the area too. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for a great week. Only issue is the grass pitches need some attention as matting had to be placed down as it got very soggy.
Reservoirs, Dams & Canals
First time at this site and overall I'm very pleased with it. The site staff went out of their way to find me some stones for my steadies as my van was on a slight slope. It is ideally situated for the mountain bike cycle rides I wanted to do, so I didn't need to drive anywhere once set up. I cycled to at least 8 reservoirs along bridle ways and some unmarked MTB routes and canals. Absolutely loved it. I managed ok with TV signal in the evenings and the B6138 wasn't that noisey at all, in fact I hardly heard a thing in the evenings as the traffic died down. I certainly will visit again. 👍
Rude staff and noisy site
Yet again I find myself astounded at the rudeness of caravan club site staff. I rang to ask whether there was any leeway with arrival times due to my work shift pattern and receive a rude response. Even offering to pay for an extra day so I could arrive early on the second day was not an option. The site was empty and the pitch booked so what was the big issue? I have done this at many other uk sites with no issues but clearly not here.
Besides the rude staff the site is faced with constant noise from the road and a busy farm/industrial site and the staff thought it a great idea to be cutting hedges etc every morning of my stay from 9am.
Don’t bring children here as there is nothing for them to do and I’m sure they would incur the wroth of the caravan club fun police.
I won’t be returning.
Peaceful
Had 3 nights on this site, no facilities but wasn’t a problem, great setting for walking or cycling if you like hills... we’ll be back for the peace and quiet of this site
I return here often
We visited at the end of July/beginning of August. We like this site a lot and come often. It's a small compact site in Cragg Vale. Sandwiched between the road and a river in a steep sided valley , which is very characteristic of this area of Calderdale. Public footpaths abound but be prepared for some stiff climbs on them up onto the hills out of the valley bottoms. It's nearest to Mytholmroyd. Hebden bridge is a good walk up the valley. Hebden is a popular place, quirky and characterful, but as it is lying in a very steep valley, parking and vehicular access is at a premium. Luckily there's a good bus service to it from the site gate and a good rail link through the Calder valley from Mytholmroyd to Hebden Bridge ,Halifax and Bradford. No toilet block, long may it stay that way. The service pitches are a welcome addition and helpful to those of us that struggle to lug water back and forth. The long grass was a precaution to stop lazy campers walking between the pitches to the service point. A necessary precaution for Covid Social Distancing. In normal times it is mown and kept tidy. I quite liked it long as the wildflowers had chance to bloom. .
My only gripe and therefore the loss of a star, is the condition of the site access roads. Some nasty potholes can catch you unawares and shake your unit up badly if you're not careful. The pitches close to the road can be noisy from the traffic and many of these have quite a slope too. The rest of the site level spacious is fairly tranquil. (So long as the inevitable yapping doggies behave !). Phone and data signal for 3 is good. Service pitches have TV hook up. It's a little gem in a cracking area. We will be back.
Long seeded grass between pitches
The long seeded grass between the pitches was not CAMC standard and did not give a good first impression of the site.As they are normally well manicured sites. I was advised that this was to stop people taking a shortcut a cross pitches.
Is this now a new policy for the club ?
For us this is the perfect site
Just returned from the site. For us this is the perfect site. No toilet block, small and located on the edge of a town. As is usual all was well managed and organised. Hebdon Bridge is a lovely town to visit and just a stroll along the tow path.
Not sure about the vat reduction. It now should be 5% it appears that the club is only reducing the vat by 12.5%. The Club has over 900 staff and an annual turnover of over £100 million. They really should be able to calculate the reduction accurately.
An excellent site
This was the first site we have ever visited as my wife and I begin our motorhome adventures. We have since stayed at several more sites. I would like to say that the wardens at this site, knowing I was new to the whole business of touring in a motorhome, gave me an extraordinary amount of help and advice. They were delightful. The site was wonderful, clean and everything was explained to me clearly and sensibly. We would have like to stay longer and explore a little more but time and tide...... We will return!

Second stop of this years holiday one night 17th September
We first stayed here over 20 years ago when we had a caravan so now we have the camper we are trying to visit new places but also include a memory lane trip. When we arrived the office was closed and there was a notice to tell us to pitch but the wardens although off duty saw us arrive and opened the office to book us in! They were so welcoming and the keep the site perfect. Its a small site with no facilities but they were spotless. We walked into the town and back. The work for the flood defences in the town does cause hold ups but a necessary evil unfortunately and hopefully wont put people visiting this lovely site.
Nice site, well run but will be better when road works are completed
This is our second time to this site, the first one many years ago. It is a very good site and well run. There are no facilities re Toilets etc, but we knew that and accepted it. Well laid out, quite small but also expected. We were on the upper level as such, up a rise to the left of the entrance road, no problem to get in or pitch. We had this pitch allocated at we were arriving mid afternoon on a Saturday. Good hard standing pitch but unfortunately, slightly under trees and it rained on 4 of the 6 days we were there. Also there was some road noise as it backs onto some trees and bushes then a well used road, we hardly noticed it but were aware of the road. The site was re-modelled some time ago and what an improvement. For those who want them there are some good fully serviced pitches but you are not far away on any pitch to the service point for water, loo emptying, waste etc.
The downside, and this is not the sites fault is the queueing to turn off the main road into the road to the site, there are long term works being done for flood relief after the 2015 floods, no danger to the site though that we could see, the river passing the site was at least 20feet below lower site level and would not expect any problems. We had a good time there and would think of going again if we needed to be in that area.
