We received a warm welcome. The warden also kindly helped me out during out of hours during our stay for which I appreciated this so very much. The site felt 'Covid Safe'.
The Site is small, as are the hard standing pitches, but I love this site. and will return again and again. Buses and trains are near by to help you get around if you have a Motorhome.
Thankfully, this time we stayed here out of season and so there were no kids cycling around and around, shouting and screaming on their bikes.
As with everyone a difficult time ...... but at last good to chill in our motorhome! Luckily on the top level with some special views! Weirdly, cruise ships at anchor in the distance! The sun shining, the pitch and grass all well cared for and reception, facilities etc well sanitized and with clear instructions! Masks required in reception and The band system worked well but we used our facilities as much as possible!
Some People do have trouble reading the road markings of 5 mph! They are large and clear so why for goodness do they speed!
Thank you for your hard work and making our stay so pleasant and safe.
Lovely little site, quiet except for the sound of the occasional steam train - lovely!
Good site for the kids to ride their bikes around as one big loop.
The shower block is probably due for a revamp soon but still clean and tidy.
Would stay here again.
Seventeen years since we visited last! Bit of a change to the site as well as us of course. A very warm welcome from the wardens on arrival and for the rest of our seven day stay. Not sure how they managed to provide the sun and blue sky each day, but big thank you. Made our stay so relaxing doing nothing at all with the occasional walk. Used our on board facilities but nice to see the hand wash down by the bins and loo emptying point. Wrist bands used to control the toilet block seems to work OK although we didn't use. Access road a bit of a challenge in a large motorhome if you meet anyone as there are quite a number of low overhanging branches - not quite so many since we've been!
Another year and another visit to this great site. Lovely and peaceful. Wardens have a great system in place for shower/toilet block. Pegs for your wristband, 2 for showers and 2 for toilets. Such a shame members find this difficult to use, putting wristband on shower peg when they are clearly using the toilet! Look forward to another visit next year
Stayed for a week from 5 September,it is like a time warp here. Lovely clean and well laid out site. We have been here many times before and just love the tranquility of the place. If wildlife gets you, this is a great site for you. See deer in the dogwalk and in the woods, hear owls and woodpeckers in the woods also. The wardens are good at their job too, they give a warm welcome and nothing is to much trouble. The facilities although small are always clean and well kept. The site itself is in the middle of farmland and not to far from either Swanage or corfe castle, and are both walkable to. One of our favourite sites.
Can't fault the site or the staff.....
Suspect this is the same everywhere but please, please members respect the other members who do still want to social distance due to whatever reason and don't disrespect the rules.
A lovely four night stay at Haycraft, our first time at the site. When we arrived there were only two grass pitches left - we chose pitch number 8 to the right of the entrance. We were a bit unsure as we have always had hardstanding pitches for our motorhome but it turned out to be a lovely large spot with just four caravans joining us in that area. We were blessed with brilliant weather and enjoyed walks into Swanage ( three miles and took about an hour), a ride on the steam train from Swanage to Corfe Castle (unfortunately the station at Harmans Cross just down the road from the site was not open due to Covid-19) and then a walk back along the hills into town and a trip out on the Purbeck Breezer Bus Number 50 from Swanage to Bournemouth, passing through Studland and across on the ferry to Sandbanks. It is a hop on, hop off service with open top buses. We stopped at Knoll Beach on the way back ( one of the National Trust beaches) which was lovely. We did take our cycles but did not use them as the surrounding area is quite hilly. The site itself is small but we did feel safe and the wristband system worked well. We did not have to queue very much at all for the facilities. Lastly, the wardens were very helpful and welcoming. Our electricity bollard was not working on arrival so the warden offered to come to the pitch with us to show us which way would be best to park the motorhome and which bollard to use. The electrician came to fix the bollard a couple of days later and the relief warden made sure that we all had advance warning that the electricity would go off for a short while. They were also helpful with suggestions for walks. It was good to be able to order a daily newspaper too. Overall a lovely site and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Visited Haycraft July/August in our small Motorhome. We came to the conclusion that for us “oldies“ Electric Bikes are required! We did manage to visit Kimmeridge, which was up, up all the way, but great on the way back. Lots of walks from the site with beautiful scenery all around. Also managed to get to Studland Bay, but how National Cycle Route 2 can be called a road, when in parts it’s just like a very stoney track, OK for mountain bikes but not for road bikes. Site small, shower/toilet block adequate (lots of campers using their own facilities) but needs updating. Wardens very helpful, especially with Wifi. Without electric bikes we will not be back.
We just returned from four nights at Haycrafts Club site. This was our first trip away from home in many months like many other people. We found they staff very helpful and polite. They were very much on top of the social distancing and use of the shower block and other facilities in line with the required regulations required for COVID 19. Well done and thank you. It was lovely to be back.
