Excellent Site

Excellent site in an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. It was busy on our arrival, but site staff met visitors on the driveway onto site to explain directions to pitches and booking in procedures. Pitches are spacious and well laid out, ours gave an excellent view down the dale. The site team are friendly, helpful and approachable. The toilet block are kept in immaculate condition. For dog owners the walking field is large and well kept. Hawes is a 5 minute walk away with a good selection of shops and pubs. The site and team are a credit to the club.

Recent Stay

Only stayed for 1 night as it was fully booked. 😢 We were met by a lovely friendly warden, who immediately said he’d come and have a look when we explained we were having trouble with the gas. He sorted it in next to no time. The whole site is well looked after and facilities were spotless. We went to leave the following day and unfortunately didn’t take a corner wide enough and impaled the MH on a wooden fence. We can’t thank Dominic and Sharon enough. Sharon went into damage limitation mode, Dominc set to with his saw and chisel and eventually we were set free with a big dint in MH, and injured pride 😂😂

Midweek break with stunning scenery

Just got back from a 4 night break to the Hawes site. It was a superb break at avey well cared for site. The shower block was spotless and all the staff were friendly and approachable. Hawes itself is a beautiful little village with plenty of shops and pubs. All the staff in the pubs were friendly and inviting, and the meals enjoyable. The Wensleydale Creamery is well worth a visit, we went twice because we ate the first lot of cheese while we were away it was that nice. Quite a few waterfalls to walk to around Hawes with some stunning views and if you go to Hardraw call in the Green Dragon pub for there posh fish finger sandwiches....yummy.

Really enjoyed our stay at Hawes. Beautiful site, ideally situated for a gentle stroll into Hawes or more adventurous walks throughout the area. Very modern ,immaculate facilities. Staff were very welcoming and informative. Excellent Dog walking / exercise area too. We have booked another stay at this site, looking forward to it.

There is a reason why this site gets booked up.

Friendly helpful wardens, great pitches and facilities. 5 minutes walk to the village. Loads of walks. Simply loved it. Bring ear plugs as you have owls at night at cows in the morning. It is the countryside so no complaints.

Recent stay

Just returned from a weekend stay at this site and it certainly won't be our last. Check in process was very smooth and staff were fabulous throughout our stay. Toilets were spotless and the site is maintained to a very high standard. The dog walking area is fantastic, especially for dogs that love to be off the lead. Perimeter is well fenced, contains a great little wooded area so lots of sights and sounds for the dogs to explore. Ten minute walk into Hawes, with some great independent shops and a number of pubs and cafes. We ate at the White Hart Inn on the Saturday evening and the food was superb. I would recommend booking in advance, due to its popularity. They have a dog friendly area in the restaurant, with an open fire. Lots of walks around the area with beautiful scenery to take in, with maps and directions available from reception. Fabulous site overall and can't recommend it enough, especially our serviced pitch number 120...

Possibly the nicest wardens

Have just left this site after 3 wonderful nights. From walking into the reception the wardens were so kind, professional and informative. The site is an absolute credit to the CAMHC. The facilities are spotless and the grounds well maintained. We booked a return stay whilst on site and am really looking forward to it. Thankyou

Great location, lovely site, brilliant for dogs (and people!)

We were booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 5, we were having such a good time even in the snow and temperatures that reached minus 3! Very friendly and helpful staff, always happy to offer a smile and a quick word. Ideally placed for the most fabulous walks which go directly from the site. We used the OS application and you could follow any number of walks which are as hard or easy as you would like, all well signposted. Lots of sheep so dog often on lead but also many fields with no livestock and up in the hills mainly empty. The village is lovely - friendly pubs (we tried three) and all the basics that you would need. The waterfall at the Green Dragon is probably over-priced at £4 a head but worth a visit and is very well maintained. The Simonstone Hotel was a great stop off point for lunch - wonderful views, lovely staff and definitely worth a drop in. The site is clean and well maintained - slight niggle is only one facilities block which depending on where you are pitched may be inconvenient. The dog walking field is huge and accessible - one of the best we have seen, with lots of fast rabbits to keep the dog on his toes! (and no, he never got close!) All in a brilliant plan and we will definitely return!

Second visit and wont be the last

This is our second visit, we arrived about 2pm and drove straight in but we noticed on other days people were arriving at 12 (check in is at 1pm ) and causing chaos then flying round the site trying to find the best spot like something out of whacky warehouse. The wardens are very friendly and helpful ( say hello to the F1 fan for us ) The walks are plentiful and from the door step and there's also a big dog walking area with lots of poo bins. An easy 5-10 min walk into the village with pubs and cafe's. Take a walk to the green dragon!! Some people might not like the early morning wake up call from the adjoining farm but we are from that background so didn't bother us. We will be back :-)
