Lovely site exactly what we wanted

So as this is a CAMC site you know what the facilities will be like, and that's exactly what we got. Plenty of showers, toilets, washbasins, hot water, washing up area and laundry. There was also a drying room which we did not need to use, so cannot comment on how good it was, but it's there which is a good sign in a place full of walkers and cyclists. All the pitches were on hardstanding and we felt large (but we are a camper van with small sun canopy and pup tent on this occasion), and despite not thinking we could book a standard pitch and booking a serviced pitch, we were pleased to be able to have a standard awning pitch and save some money. This was all sorted by the wardens who were friendly and helpful. Our teenagers were really pleased with the games room and happily disappeared for a bit of table tennis. All that the mobile phone reception was good so they could happily surf the internet without us needing to purchase access to the wifi which can be hit and miss. It's a really short stroll into Hawes itself. and there are plenty of walks from the site. We all enjoyed a round loop taking in Hardraw Force, with a pub lunch at the Green Dragon before hoping to hit the Wensleydale creamery. Unfortunately we missed the final tour/ demonstration here by 10 mins, and the staff members was so off we didn't think it was worth a return visit - they clearly have lots of business - but if you do want to go it's worth getting the leaflet from the site office which enables you to get 2 tickets for the price of 1. We only spent 2 nights here but would definitely come back for another visit.

Dog exercise area

This site has all the things that you would expect on a C&MH site including a dog exercise field which was absolutely great. The best I've ever seen!

Fantastic Site Fantastic Staff

Returned on July 3rd from a week on this beautifully kept site. Easy access to town and dales by foot, cycle, motorcycle or car. There is a fantastic dog exercise area with great views to the hills in which they can run. Overall a well kept site with really friendly staff and will visit again in the future. Lower priced fuel in town thanks to community run garage.

The Hawes Circular Walk and Hawes Club welcomes you

Stayed two nights on pitch 78 which is in sun all day and very private. Very helpful wardens and a lovely site . In fact one of our favourites . Got a map of the Hawes Circular walk which you can do from the site . Start by turning sharp right at the site Entrance and follow the quiet road which leads to a road bridge which you cross over and stay on the road until you see a new part ( repair of the wall )with the river on your left then at the gates Sign post to Hardraw go through gates start the walk across the fields and its a lovely grass surface then a flagged path ( Dogs need to be on Lead ). Best to get a Route MAP at the Club Office and after visting the Green Dragon Inn the route goes either back to the Camp OR Directly up a steep hill and this is the only climb of the walk . Get a map for full directions . HAWES CLUB 15 minutes walk from the site if you are in town then all Caravan Club Members are really welcome to use the HAWES CLUB . ( which is just across the Bridge on the clock wise One way system into town) . great prices too Beers from £3.30 a pint . Opening times Saturday 5pm Sunday 4pm Mon Tues Wed Thurs 8pm Friday 6pm HAPPY HOUR 6PM to &.7.30PM or should be happy hour and a half ...... Overall I can highly reccommend this C&MHC site it has everything , Nice wardens, Good layout. peaceful nights, brilliant scenery ,Plenty of places to drink and eat. Chippy , Five pubs , Hawes creamery . Hawes Club . Nice walks . What more do you need

Lovely Site, Lovely Wardens, Good Pitch Arrangement

As many previous reviews have said this is a well placed site, handy for a short walk into the town or further afield across beautiful country. This was our third time here and even though the weather wasn't great we still enjoyed it. The food at The White Hart in town was sublime, not the cheapest but what we had was fabulous, if you can try the Lamb Henry also a must is the trio of rhubarb dessert. But back to the site, had a long and interesting talk with the wardens and they do take their job very seriously and professionally, most wardens on club sites our top people and these were no different. One thing I am very pleased to see is the arrangement of the pitch pegs, these now start and the left hand side of the pitches which means there is plenty of room for a Motorhome to erect a drive away awning without falling foul of previous rules, whereby the pitch peg was a third or so in from the edge leaving a strip to one side unused and no room to erect a drive away awning, well done Hawes and the club.

Fabulous site, close to the Town and lovely walks

What a fabulous site, so close to the town. Thankfully we had booked a meal in the White Heart as is was full. We had a fabulous meal there. We also did the walk up to the waterfall- Very disappointed- it is not a must do: which the club pamphlet states more a must avoid. £8.00 for two adults, I expected more. The picnic benches were falling apart, very underwhelming too. Thankfully the walk itself is lovely and the pub next to the waterfall - Greenacre i think it was called, was doing Sunday lunch, which was fantastic so it was a bonus to get a table. Fantastic service in the pub. The site wardens were welcoming and the dog love the dog walk area, especially all the rabbits in there. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Hard To Find A Better Site!

Just back from a week long stay on a fully serviced pitch at this fabulous site, very friendly and helpful site staff really make a difference !! Special mention to Craig who went above and beyond and helped us to get our water system connected whilst on the service pitch. The very large and scenic dog walking field has be one of the best on the network.

JUNE 2020

Fabulous site next to the river, short stroll into Hawes with lots of lovely pubs and shops. Pitches are a good size and wardens friendly.
