60th birthday holiday

This is a lovely quiet site with stunning views. The warden are the best we have come across in over twenty years of caravanning, they were very helpful to us when our car broke down, even offering to add shopping to their online delivery. We will be returning in the future as we didn't get to complete our holiday due to car problems.

Wonderful 8 days

We have just spent 8 days on the peaceful site. We had the perfect pitch and loved to listen to the birds, sheep and running water of the stream. Janet and Pete were both very friendly and always stopped to chat as they by with their dog. The most relaxed holiday we’ve ever had.

Peaceful and delightful, a little haven

Our first visit to Gwern-Y-Bwlch and we will definitely be back. It's such a beautiful, peaceful site within an ancient wood. The whole site is a haven for wildlife and it was a delight to sit watching it all. The dog walk is spectacular too, a circular walk among the bluebells. Janet and Pete were really helpful too with where to walk the dogs from the site up the hills for some spectacular sights. The rain was torrential at times but it didn't stop us going for nice walks and we will definitely be back - will probably always be our favourite site. If you like peace, Wildlife, wonderful scenic walks, you can't go wrong with Gwern-Y-Bwlch.

Peaceful

Very quiet peaceful site, laid out on terraces. Pleasant, helpful wardens. Excellent walk going high up over the top of the hill behind the site, although steep and footpath signs are not great. You need to drive to other local places - Lake Vyrnwy is lovely, approx 40 mins away. As said previously, the sign for the site is missing from both directions on the main road, so easy to miss the entrance, but sat nav got it right

Little gem

Lovely site. Very peaceful. Lovely views. The wardens were really lovely and helpful. Very dog friendly with two dog walks and plenty of ‘poo’ bins. No shower or toilets, but we didn’t need that. Plenty of facilities for water, waste etc dotted about the site. It’s a tiered site, so maybe not for the less mobile, but it does offer more privacy than usual. The only down side is that there is not much around the site in the way of shops / cafe / meals. Definitely need to use your car to get around. However, if you want a quiet peaceful break, this is highly recommended.

A hidden hideaway

We booked onto this site for three nights as it was featured on the clubs promotions of £15 per night. What a delightful time we had. If you are the type of camper that is happy to not have all the mod cons of a fully equipped site then this this gem is worth a visit. On a steep hill with pitches set out on several levels with lovely views over to the hills. The scenery in this part of Wales is breathtaking and if you like walking and getting away from it all then you will love it here. Close by the lovely seaside town of Aberdovey is worth a visit and day at the beach weather permitting. Has a dog friendly beach too. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely going back.

Peaceful BH Site

A fabulously peaceful bolthole for a bank holiday weekend. Started well with a great welcome from the wardens Pete and Janet. The site is tiered and the site road winds back and forth between the tiers. Wonderful views across the valley from most of the pitches. It definitely helps if you have a mover so you can pitch back to front. Plenty of service points and a lovely dog walk Ann’s all for £15.00 a night for two adults BH weekend.

Brilliant May bank holiday

We stayed for the first May bank holiday in our campervan. Returning after 10 years last time in a caravan. Site just as lovely as we remembered lots of birds about. Wardens were brilliant hoping to return soon xx

Nice!

Stayed for Easter break. £15 value site without toilet block which suits us. Three service points which is excellent for the size of the site. Good views from most pitches. Great wardens, friendly and welcoming, two of the best l have known in 25 yrs of membership. The only downside is the lack of a supermarket within 20 odd miles, but if you are aware you can prepare for this. Great views scenery on the road to Dolgellau. Stay here, l don't think you will be disappointed.
