This site was excellent all facilities were spotless, the wardens were friendly and had time to chat and everyday were busy changing over old wood for new and making the site look better. An added bonus was horse racing which did not impact on getting in and out of the site just a short delay if race was in progress. The walk into Great Yarmouth town centre was approx 30/40 minutes and a shirt walk from site is caster dunes and beach which is dog friendly. We would return for a short break
Great Great Yarmouth
Hi we booked this site for an easter break with our grandkids, They are crazy about horses so we were all waiting for Tuesday Race day, A word of advice if you are a novice reverser like me choose your pitch carefully as some are not flat but great for views across the race track. The facilities were spot on, the wardens were super friendly and helpful. Another word of advice Great Yarmouth Seafront gets proper busy so get there early to find a parking and carry pound coins or use the parking app. Caister beach we found very close and seemed more sheltered than Yarmouth. Race day arrived, the warden came to our pitch and explained the race day routine and 1/2 price tickets and kids go FREE, Yipeee....... It was a great day. Once again Thank You to the Team at Great Yarmouth Site for keeping everything so great, will definitely see us again.
Lovely site
This is the first time we have visited the Great Yarmouth site and will certainly return.
The Site Wardens were really friendly and helpful, it was nice to be greeted with a smile. The facilities are absolutely immaculate in all areas and well maintained. The site is ideally situated to either walk into Great Yarmouth or onto the beach at Caister on Sea and the site is self is really interested being located on the racecourse. Thanks to the Site Wardens more making this a lovely site to stay on.
Tired site
We were booked in for 4 nights but moved after 2. Site is tired and only has one facilities block which would be overwhelmed if the site were full. Very exposed and when the weather blew in you felt every gust of wind - many awnings had suffered in the morning.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The walks from the site were limited for us.
Visited The Avenue public house nearby and am very surprised it rated 4.5 on trip advisor.
Great site
As usual a very friendly welcome from wardens ,having been a regular visitor over the years the site has always been well run toilet facilities always kept very clean even before COVID .It’s a pity the club can’t do something about the pitches re lack of grass but I don’t think that puts members off.Plenty to do in area ie Visits to the Broads or Yarmouth itself. All in all a great site .
Very pleased
Well what a gem.
Must be the hardest working wardens ever they never stop. Place is spotless we loved it. Easy to walk into Yarmouth or bus stops nearby. Pub within walking distance it’s okay 2 shops also nearby.
We went during term time so very quiet it was fantastic.
Thank you

A Surprise
I was pleasantly surprised having stayed on other race course sites over the years. The Toilet block I consider the best, modern clean, but a little step back in having plastics stools in the showers, a bit of a surprise where refurbished showers are provided with a bench.
The beach in one direction or the park and river in the other direction, both within a few minutes walk for the nimble, a little longer for those of more senior years, both great for relaxing.
I'm always a bit suspicious when there are no separated recycling facilities on site. We are told place everything in one bin, and it's sorted after collection by the appointed external, local authority contractor! Really?
Biggest down on this site, the sandy ground, what a mess can be created when the ground is damp. Wet sand accompanied by dead grass/weed/moss gets stuck to anything that comes into contact with it.
Biggest up on this site, The Wardens, most helpful and doing a brilliant job
Great site
We had a warm welcome at Great Yarmouth from the Wardens. The site is big and very open but there is a good space between each pitch. The ground is sandy and therefore easy to pitch an awning. It is a great place for the beach at both Great Yarmouth and Caister on Sea with good walks to either. There is a short walk to the Greyhound Stadium and it also doubles as a stadium for Banger Racing.
We enjoyed our time here and would recommend it.
Only CMC site I’ve been disappointed with.
Clean, tidy and functional but overpriced and scruffy.
Lovely wardens but even their enthusiasm can’t polish the site which is nothing but a scruffy area on the inside of a racecourse with a clean shower lock. I’d have been content if this had been £20 but it was £35. Avoid and spend your money on two nights on a CL instead.
Unexpected Stay
We were booked in with Parkdean for a week but due to the pitch being unsafe to pitch due to contamination, nothing else was available.
We took a chance as members and called Great Yarmouth, the wardens went above and beyond to try to accommodate us at such late notice.
We have had the most fabulous time at the site, the site was clean and the showers we never busy. We found it easy to get around by bike, bus or on foot. If you get a chance go to the Hippodrome Circus you will not be disappointed. We were fortunate to be staying during horse racing, we watched from our pitch and we lucky enough to win our first race.
