Wouldn't stay anywhere else

Keep our caravan in storage and only stay on this site. Its a real home from home and very welcoming by Chris and her team. They have brought some excellent ideas to the site particularly the new storage key cubicle. They are very professional and always accommodating. The site is is central for the Gower coast and Llanelli and lots to do within driving distance. They give you the opinion of being around but not in your face :)

Very Wet

Told tersely that it was first come first served and there was no hardstanding - which they could have mentioned earlier in the day when we called as per our booking instructions. Grass pitches completely water-logged and muddy from wheel spins, and with a dog that was an issue. Not a site for wet weather.

Lovely site,with a few buts!

The site was very well kept, the staff were efficient, the official dog walk was very overgrown, and far too muddy to use. It was also difficult to find the site.

Nice, well kept site.

Stayed at Gowerton for 5 nights and agree with previous reviews that it is a nice, well kept site, good sized grass & hardstanding pitches, excellent toilet & showers and pleasant wardens. Fish & chips are good and delivered to site on Friday & Saturday (pre-ordering required). A secured gate at rear of site leads to a path to a Tesco Express (5 mins walk) or there are larger supermarkets within a short drive. Swansea and The Mumbles are about 20 minutes drive. Unfortunately, weather wasn't good during our stay which can spoil visits to the nicest of places but the area is certainly well worth a visit.

gateway to the gower

The site is ideal for getting to the gower penninsular or to check out llanelli, swansea or the valleys. The site was so peaceful and ho so tidy especially the toilet block and showers. The wardens were friendly and so helpful and seemed to be busy with either keeping the grass down around the site or helping campers and getting fish n chips to the site from the local chippy and very tasty too. there is a pub off site within a 15 minute walk with cheerful food with average cost.

Glorious Gower

Just got back from 10 days here and it's a great spot for visiting the surrounding area - the Gower beaches, Swansea, Neath Valley waterfalls, Brecon Beacons etc. The site itself is very peaceful and well maintained and the sunsets were great too!

Perfect Location for Gower Coast

Just returned from a 2 week holiday using this site. Easily accessible from M4 and you can go under the low bridge with your caravan as you approach Gowerton, rather than going on the diversion route to avoid it. Don't head through Loughor as a narrow weak bridge near entrance to site.  Having driven around the Gower coast, this is the easiest site to reach and avoids towing your caravan along some of the narrower Gower coastal roads (A4118) to reach some CL sites or other affiliated sites.   Site itself was lovely, spacious pitches, green and surrounded with trees, clean and peaceful despite there being families there, including ourselves.  Site wardens were very friendly and helpful.  Fish and Chips nights are arranged for Saturdays and Tuesdays if you order by 4.30pm - perfect if you just arrive late afternoon as we did and don't want to cook!  Site shop has bare essentials, but Tesco Express 5 mins away.  The toilet/shower block was in good condition and regularly cleaned.  When the larger block is being cleaned, the small block is available with 1 toilet and 3 showers. It has a play area, but it is very small and ideal for children aged 3 - 8yrs old. Behind the site through the dog walking secure gates is a large playing field with a park and skateboard park for older children.  You would need to accompany them, unless you are happy for them to go there alone as they will be out of site. The location is on the North Gower, but the South Gower coast is within 15-20 min drive through Cross Hands.  Highly recommend a visit along the North Gower Coastal villages and beaches, however we did spend most of our time on the South Gower.  Most beaches on South Gower (Oxwich, Caswell, Port Eynon, Horton, Three Cliffs) are reachable within 20-25 minutes  - it will involve driving along some narrow roads with passing places so maybe not ideal if you have a big campervan.  The centre of Swansea or the Mumbles is within 15 minutes by car - lots to do for families (footgolf, sandy bay, leisure centre, shopping, outdoor lido, Singleton Park, theatre, cinema etc..).  The Gower itself offers lots for sunny days - long sandy beaches, beautiful coastal walks, pony trekking etc..  We did also venture out to the Vale of Neath  / Brecon Beacon to discover lots of waterfalls; some of which you can walk under (Henrhyd Falls) and mountain railways. Gowerton itself does have a small High Street with a Sainsburys and Post Office, but nearest supermarket is the Tesco Express at the Petrol Station 5 mins from the site.  It does get busy in the forecourt at times, but stocks most things and has a cashpoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and had our most varied holiday here with a mixture of beach days and days out walking or finding waterfalls / coal mines / caves.  Ideal for families with plenty to do to more than cover a 2 week holiday.  We will be back again very soon.

Lovely site

Just finishing a very lovely week here, great location for exploring and a very well cared for clean site.  The wardens were very friendly and we would stay here again and continue to explore the lovely coast. Really good dog friendly beautiful beaches.  Chatted to the deputy wardens tonight who were new and really keen to hear that I had had a good stay lovely people. Great weather for Wales too although the rain is on its way.

Hyfryddol

Arrived on site for bank holiday weekend to fine that 3 hard standing pitches, one closed, two others obviously been reserved, unavailable. Grass pitches very boggy as we had very heavy rain. Good site for Visits to Gower, Swansea and Llanelli. Ideal for families with children and dog owners as near playing fields. Facilities really are quite tired though very clean.
