Great Site

A little gem of a site, very friendly and helpful wardens who kept the site and facilities immaculate. The sand dunes were a bonus, to be able to walk over there was great. A good base point to visit other lovely little villages and beaches. Although the pitches were a bit on the small side they were fine for my outfit BUT if I had anything bigger could have been a bit tight.

Just ok

Pitch sizes were disappointing with no clear demarcation between units leading to a feeling of being crammed in. The toilet/ shower facilities are well past their best and desperately need updating especially for the pitch price being charged. Nowhere near enough toilet/ shower facilities for a site of this size and more cleaning certainly needed.

Our favourite Cornwall site

This site is just an hour and a half from our home so convenient for short and long visits. The best thing is its location near to the Gwithian dunes and the massive three-mile beach - dogs are allowed on the largest part throughout the year but restricted in July and August on the eastern part. The area is not overly developed and it's easy to find solitude if you want it. The site has only grass pitches but they're generally well drained. Some are a bit tight for space. In our experience the wardens do a great job keeping the site immaculate. I just wish some visitors would be a bit more considerate with awning mats. Some pitches looked decidedly moth-eaten with the grass is damaged or killed off altogether. On our last visit, pressure on space was high and a couple of times the wardens had to have words with people encroaching onto other pitches with vehicles or windbreaks etc. The responses were not always co-operative and I don't envy the wardens job. I do admire their diplomatic skills but at the end of the day, visitors need to be mindful of their neighbours. Kids seem to particularly enjoy this site and we found them to be generally respectful and not overly intrusive on the peace and quiet. Great to see them enjoying the open air and meeting new friends. Our grandkids visited and they enjoyed it. Highly recommend this site.

Don’t book non awning pitches

Excellent site for beach and walking holidays, lovely location and well kept site. Only issue we had was non awning pitches are only designed for very small motor homes/vans. Also first time ever told can’t wind out canopy on a non awning pitch is this standard rules? Only to see neighbours 2 days later wind out large canopy and windbreaks in front of warden. When questioning this to wardens was told to complain if not happy.

Outstanding

We have had a lovely few days at Godrevy again. The site was immaculate, the wardens so welcoming, friendly and full of good humour. We felt very safe as everything was cleaned and sanitised. We love this site, walking through the dunes which is a Nature Reserve and full of interesting plants and insects, including moths and butterflies. The beach is just amazing, and as the tide drops back it is just so massive, social distancing need not be a problem. We walked over there from the campsite (just be very careful of where the footpath crosses the road, the cars come very quickly around that corner. Anyway, it was a delight to be on this lovely site once again. Thank you to the wardens for making it so good.

Excellent Site

This is our 3rd visit to Godrevy, and certainly won’t be the last! We’ve already booked a week next July The wardens work so hard, and are a very helpful and friendly team. The facilities are spotlessly clean, although we feel showers could do with updating, still they are kept spotless. Our pitch was in a lovely spot. It was extremely hot, when we stayed, couldn’t have asked for better weather. This site always feels like “home” we spoke to lots of people staying here, and everyone feels the same Well done Godrevy xxx

Excellent site

We have recently stayed at Godrevy site Hayle we had fantastic weather ☀️ the site is well run as to be expected from CAMC, we have a motorhome and don’t take it out so were very lucky that the bus had temporarily rerouted past the site into st ives which was great for us, otherwise a 15 min walk to bus stop, £56 gets you a wks family travel very easy download first bus app. Lovely walk out of back gate across a somewhat busy Rd over sand dunes on to beach about 10 /15 mins walk a few nice places to eat sunset surf and jam pot are highly recommended, we walked up to see the seals at the lighthouse about an 45 mins there is a large NT car park up there so free if yr with them, we also walked along the beach to hayle a beautiful walk about an hr but be careful the tide is well out best to check tide times. Our only gripe was the amount of dogs off leads several just running round freely we have always had a dog but not anymore there were several people complaining even ones with dogs, but nothing seemed to be done about it 🤷‍♀️ But overall a great site

Thank you for an amazing time!

We arrived to the most friendly warm welcome from Jane. She explained fully the site and also advised on watching the sunset in the dunes. That was impressive! We got a bit lost trying to find the pitches so I stopped Scott on his lawnmower- he couldn’t be more helpful, even showed us which pitches to choose from! We set up near the shower block. Which was not noisy, People were considerate. We went to the beach and watched the sunset, that is a must! We have a dog and the beach caters for the dogs on one side. The facilities were the cleanest I’ve ever used and even a doggy wash/wetsuit shower. The site is near to a pub but we couldn’t get in but ordered a Chinese on Justeat and it was amazing. This site was clean, well kept and the most friendly wardens Jane and Scott 👏👏👏

Lovely site, great location

We stayed for 1 week in June 2021. Our pitch was great in a lovely circular part of the site that felt private and very quiet. Pitch size was very good, plenty of space. A gate leads to the beach, about a 10 to 15 minute walk across the dunes. Lovely beach. We didn’t use local public transport but think there is a bus stop outside the site. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby, a Lidl within a 5 minute drive and a Tesco in Hayle, about 10 minutes away. The Jam Pot cafe is a 15 minute walk away and sits overlooking the beach. Serves great food and drinks. Toilet block is clean and showers are good. There are no shelves in the showers although plenty of hooks to hang towel and clothes on. Overall, a great site and we are planning a return visit.

Only the weather could have been better!!

We had a wet and windy 3 nights here but wow this is a great site, we were advised about where to pitch out of the gale which was very helpful. The pitches are really good with good spacing between them. The facilities are excellent and very clean. Yes we were impressed, only the weather, which did relent for one day, could have been better although it didn't interfere with our plans for the stay. Will we return? YES. Would we recommend this site? YES. Others have already commented on other aspects so will not repeat.
