We had a brilliant stay at Godrevy. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent wardens. It’s in a wonderful location with shops and supermarkets in Hayle, and excellent restaurants nearby.
The night skies are a wonderful sight, quite magical. Missed having the little shop on site.
Would return in a shot.
Excellent campsite!
We had the best stay at this site! Despite two storms it was a fantastic friendly campsite suitable for all! The site was very accommodating of our unusual vehicle and the site was maintained and cleaned regularly. COVID precautions were taken and meant the site felt very safe. I particularly love the back gate which leads directly onto the path down to the beach, it means no having to stress about parking or driving and makes a great place to explore the sand dunes and watch the sunset.
My only complaint is I left some things in the shower and they were thrown away or stolen so not 100% trustworthy and it would have been helpful if the site team let those staying on the site, know about the upcoming storm with wind speeds of 65mph as you did feel left to fend for yourselves.
Safe and relaxed
The site is spacious, and in a lovely part of Cornwall. The COVID security was appropriate and generally observed by most visitors. The wardens were clearly busy but friendly and helpful. A great site for a family holiday although the walk to the beach could be a slog with little ones and/or a lot of stuff.
Great Site
Stayed here July 25th - 1st August. Nice clean site, really friendly staff, not to far from a beautiful beach. Wasn't too busy but seemed to be filling up as the week went on. The staff told us they were allowing more pitches to open a few at a time to see how they coped with the facilities, made perfect sense to me. I would definitely recommend this site.
Mixed feelings
This is a nice site, with friendly staff, good sized pitches and in a good location. Unfortunately the standard of approach to Covid was concerning. The showers and toilets were limited to 3 showers and toilets for male and the same for female, with 2 additional unisex toilets. This was for 120 pitches. The facilities were only cleaned twice daily and there was no means to sanitise between users. Whilst access was limited to minimise social contact and none of us minded queuing, the unisex toilets in particular, were enclosed and not cleaned regularly. A bottle of squirt disinfectant and some blue roll would have made a huge difference - allowing folk to disinfect between users. As it was, they were dirty, used by everybody (with folk coughing in enclosed spaces) and not safe. Hand sanitiser was available but as few folk used it, the facilities felt very unsafe from Covid. A real shame as this is a lovely site and I’m sure under normal circumstances it would be fab.
Great to be back at Godrevy
This was the busiest site we visited during our 4 site tour July/August but the site quietened down just after dark and most people were respectful of the Covid-19 arrangements. There were long queues for showers at certain times and we did have to complain to the warden about children riding bikes and dumping them on our pitch. They were also cycling around the blocks which defeated the social distance rules because people were queuing in the same place as children were cycling. This was sorted out as soon as we mentioned it. Apart from those niggles our stay was great. We walked from the site in both directions. I enjoyed a couple of swims in Carbis Bay which we passed on the way during our walk to St Ives. However, we were off the beach by midday as it was far too busy. St Ives was well organised but it was getting over crowded by the afternoons. We headed to Bottalack instead where we parked for free and enjoyed the spectacular scenery and the mining Heritage. Cape Corwall is stunning and it is Poldark Country. The weather was gorgeous and we rather reluctantly visited Geevor Mine because we had promised our sons - it was well worth a visit though and we had not prebooked. We popped in on the off chance when we realised that the Levant Mine was not open. There is so much more to do in the area that we will definitely be back to Godrevy.

Cornish break
Visited a couple of weeks ago. The site is lovely and in a beautiful location, with the beach just across the road and over the sand dunes out of the back gate of the site.
It's nice to find a site that has all grass pitches these days, makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
It is quite a small site. we were there out of season so there was plenty of room. Don't know what it would be like in August though.
Intended walking along the coastal path to St Ives one day, but got as far as Hayle and couldn't work out where to pick it up again, so got the bus instead!
Two week Chillax close to the beech...
Originally booked to go to North Cornwall near Tintagel but had to rebook due to unforseen circumstances, really glad to have booked Godrevy Park instead. I had some issue booking the full two week stay but it got sorted with the helpful warden. This site is a must for lovers of beeches and dare I say pasties..you can walk along the beech to Hayle, it is a trek but worth the trip to Philps in Hayle..
Site facilities are great and the outside washing area for BBqs is well thought out. The scenery when you get to the beech is some of the best to see around...I recommend a trip to Carbis Bay (park near Rail Station) and walk to St Ives on the public footpath close to Carbis Bay Hotel, it's a little hilly but worth the views...oh and you must go to the Harbour Restaurant, had a great Fish and Chips sit down meal....
Will be rebooking for 2020 for sure..Oh and If I haven't mentioned pasties enough, it is worth buying pre baked pasties when you travel home, great for the freezer and those long lasting memories of Cornwall.
Great site....must say the Wardens were friendly and worked so damn hard...

Difficult to fault.
Very enjoyable stay. Wardens very helpful. Site clean & tidy. Shower block well maintained. Our pitch a bit soft at one end, but there had been plenty of rain before we arrived. I have rated "good for families" as 3* as we visited out of season when it was mainly couples; also there's not much nearby except the beach. Regarding others comments about high winds we have stayed at more exposed sites on the north coast.
Good In Parts
Lovely site about 20 minutes walk from the beach. The pitches at the top of the site give you a lovely view of the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse. However, those pitches are very exposed and when the wind blew it rocked our motorhome and the noise of rain on the roof kept us awake.
Unfortunately, there is only one place that it is possible to empty a toilet cassette and that is at the shower block. It is not too bad having to walk some distance for a shower, from the far end of the site, but dragging a toilet cassette that far was unpleasant. This is the only reasonably large site that I have used with only one chemical toilet emptying point and it is also some distance from the motorhome waste point.
The local bus to St Ives had stopped running when we were there so we tried out the C&MC arrangement with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. They picked us up from the site and drove us to their office in Penzance. We hired a Vauxhall Corsa for two days and they returned us to the site at the end of the hire. We did over 100 miles and they charged us £73.32 (plus petrol) for the two days and that we considered to be very good value.
