Fantastic Site

We stayed at Garlieston last week for 4 nights. We had a lovely position overlooking the harbour. The wardens Ann & Martin were very friendly and helpful and kept the site very clean and tidy. Garlieston is a lovely quiet village with a great pub for meals out. There are lots of coastal walks and lovely places to visit nearby, Rigg Bay, Isle Of Whithorn and Port William. We had a lovely time with great weather for walking or just sitting out and relaxing with terrific views from the site and nearby places. Would highly recommend this site. Thanks for a very enjoyable visit.

Location and Wardens

As has been said on numerous occasions the location and wardens are what makes a site.  This together with excellent weather made our recent stay very enjoyable.  Large pitch in walled garden with very good facilities.  Did not find the shower numbers a problem as even with a full site there never was a time to wait.  Well done Martin and Ann ye are a credit to CC.

Harbour view

The site has a lovely position right in the village, most of the pitches overlook the harbour, they are mostly non awning, so even if you don't get on the front row you still get a view of the water.  The other part of the site across a quiet road has sheltered garden like feel,  both sides have spotlessly clean toilets and showers.  The wardens are very friendly and helpful and give lots of info about the village and surrounding area.  The Harbour Inn is a 2 minute walk from site, the food is very good, reasonably priced and even the restaurant is dog friendly, there is also a beer garden at the rear.  There is a bowling club in the village which welcomes visitors.  This is a great site for adults, but perhaps a bit quiet for children.

Stayed here for one week, May 2016

What a beautiful location to stay for our first club site, we joined the CC late last year and booked this site in December. The wardens greeted us and explained everything in detail, very nice people. The site is immaculate in all areas, we stayed in the walled garden on pitch 59. The Harbour Inn is very clean and serves good food and a selection of drinks, the staff are also very friendly. We have 2 dogs and they was welcome in the pub too, even during meal times. We had a full week of sunshine and spent most days walking along the coastal walks and beaches, Galloway House gardens is a must see as is the Isle of Whithorn. We will definitely be back again.

Return to Club site

Usually use CL sites. This Club site has brilliant wardens, the best ever. Has good facilities the showers and toilets sparkling clean. Location is good, but I find all club sites too cramped for space, Would benefit from another shower as only 2 each male/female for 65+ vans. Local pub reasonable food and friendly.

A Gem!!

We stayed here on the third week of our 4 week tour. What a lovely peaceful site, extremely well run by two very amiable Irish wardens. Kept spotlessly clean and attractive. This was a very good site in a very nice area of Scotland Mick & Carol

Excellent site.

Lovely site, very clean and well maintained.Ann and Martin were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful flower beds and pots give the site a lovely entrance. Lovely walks, cycling and boating from the site, easy access at high tide. Lovely site for families with safe easy walks to the beach at Rigg Bay or the gardens at Galloway House. Play park for young children just outside the site and a larger one for older children in the village. Lovely pub in the village which serves very nice food , family and dog friendly.

Cor Blimey

By chance we were given a harbour side pitch with an uninterrupted view. Oh boy wonderful. Walk to Rigg Bay and the wonderful gardens of Galloway House (free access and peaceful). Wet fish on Tuesday was delicious. Try the Harbour Inn nearby - good pub food. All in all a wonderful site. If u have never visited before stay at home cos we want it for ourselves - seriously it is a super site.

A little gem

First time we have visited this part of Dumfries and Galloway and this lovely site. Very helpful wardens who keep the site immaculate, the flowers beds at the entrance of both areas are delightful. Great views from harbour site and the cycling from the site amazing, on quiet and undulating roads following the coloured signed routes. Walking good too. Good beer from the local pub 5 mins stroll away. Will definitely be back.

The best!

This has to be the best site we have stayed on. We have been a few times now and it is fantastic. Very friendly place with very good pub only yards away. Very handy for launching boats or canoe. Will be back.
