A Great Place to Stay
We were last at Garlieston about 4 years ago and were looking forward to returning after travelling from New England Bay site. What a great surprise when we arrived and the lady told us that if we wanted an evening meal at the Harbour Inn we should make a booking; the last time we were there it was a scruffy wee men only type of place with nothing to eat. The site hasn't changed much but getting a nice pitch at the side of the water is fantastic. The facilities are just CC standard and were always available. The flowers at the site entrance makes for a nice arrival. Another great improvement in the area is the bus service. Previously, it was one bus in the third week of May, now all the buses come through the village making it easy to get around the area rather than drive, a nice relaxing way to see such a beautiful part of Scotland.
Thanks for a nice visit and we will surely return if only to sample the food and beer at the Harbour Inn.
