Busy

Never seen so many vans in one place, like a sales yard. To be near a beach you have to put up with the crowds. Relaxed rules from normal club sites...... Credit to wardens keeping it all clean though

Excellent.

Excellent site. The staff are some of the finest we have encountered on a Club site, always helpful, always cheerful. I can't comment on WiFi or TV service as I don't use either of these facilities, I prefer to relax and leave the modern world behind for our stay. Fantastic location, plenty of dog friendly beaches in the area, lovely cost path. It's been a couple of years since our last visit to a club site (we rally usually) but this site really is worth a trip.

Great Site, Great Wardens, Great Location - but

Stayed at the end of June, early July in the most amazing weather. Wardens are excellent and we were very pleased with our pitch. I was aware before going that both television and mobile signals were non existent and this is definitely the case - you need to be back at the junction where you turn down to the site before you get a mobile signal on vodafone. The beach is fantastic (dog friendly) and for the first time in years went swimming in the sea. The Longhouse which is very close to the beach is convenient for a coffee and a beer although the latter was inconsistent. In terms of sightseeing would recommend St Govans Chapel and Barafundel beach. The 'but' relates to the Gold WiFi rating which is a complete joke - it is by far the worst WiFi I have had on Caravan Club site - and the rating was a key reason why we went. The Caravan Club should be honest in its ratings because in this world sometimes good WiFi is important and particularly when you have traveled 350 miles to get there.

Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

My sister :iz, and I arrived for a 5 night stay on 25/7/2018 in my 2 year old Autosleeper Nuevo. Checked in with lovely warm reception from Kim Hart, returned to the moho at the barrier - ENGINE DEAD. There we stayed for the next 4+ plus hours during which I contacted the AA who came, was on the phone to the alarm installer and others. During this worrying and stressful afternoon we have to give very special T*H*A*N*K*S* and commendations to George Parrott especially, and to Paul Scarr for their support and for sticking with us. George reassured me regularly that 'everything will be alright' and that 'we'll get it sorted', and during this time we were provided with chairs and a cuppa or two while we waited for the problem to be sorted, and help with phones. Their humour and confidence and care' was just wonderful. So, we then went on to have a fabulous fun and beautiful time at Freshwater East; there really is no signal for texts and mobiles, but after a while, you know what, it is really quite nice to be off grid. We would highly recommend this site, the settings, the facilities, and the wardens unreservedly. Love and hugs xx

When the weather is as good as it has been, this is a lovely site

It was our first time at Freshwater. The site was excellent. Well set out if you choose your pitch well. Things to watch out for: It's a fair walk to the pub in the village, up hill nearly all the way. Get there early for an evening meal as our food was excellent but there is soon a waiting list for orders. There is very little public transport so one way coastal walks are not easy to organise. We did manage the late afternoon bus to Stackpole Quays followed by a couple of hours stroll back to the site. Talking of Stackpole, the 5 mile circular walk including Barafundle Bay is well worth it. Would be go again? Yes. There is still plenty we haven't seen in the area.

Amazing. Almost raw Caravaning.....

Why the headline....well. After set up and finding no phone signal. And just 8 TV channels even on site hook up.(Some those even to broken) I thought oh bugger... Then we explored I don't want to leave. It's perfect. The costal path, the beach, great base and so peaceful. After this review booking 2 weeks next year. I would sooner come here than go abroad. Nothing to do with the site, but people mention bar next door on holiday park. Don't expect to much it's dirty and grotty. Beer stained floors seats and needs good clean and refresh..but come here it's paradise.

the kennel club site

If you are not a fan of dogs I suggest you avoid this site. It felt as though we were staying in a kennels due to the vast number of dogs ,I dont have an issue with dogs per se but a number of ill trained dog owners think it is ok to use any available patch of grass including occupied pitches as a dog latrine , along with this goes the constant yapping every time someone walks past a pitch containing a dog or the inevitable pack of yappers. of which the owners are impervious to the annoyance that is caused to other people on the site. .

Excellent site

What's not to like? Warm welcome from very helpful and friendly wardens started off an exellcent holiday (helped by the amazing weather!). Lovely beach over the road. The site is quite long so it's possible to be a fair walk from the loos & showers, but we had a full service pitch so all good. Lots to see and do, Tenby was nice. Free wifi and phone signal at the pub (clubhouse?) on the holiday site next door, with cheap beer and some live entertainment (plus the World Cup on big screens).
