One of the best

One of the best kept sites I have stayed on, modern facilities, plenty of local shops and restaurants and plenty enough to see within an hours drive or so. Add to that the adjacent loch and country park plus a play area for the kids (quite busy sometimes) and your holiday is made. Wardens and relief Wardens all seemed to work non stop to maintain the high standards. Well done all around. Comments about the approach and signage should be heeded. AEL

Weekend visit to Forfar CC

This is an excellent site, very tidy and good facilities and close proximity to Forfar. However, the approach signs are non existant and we were not the only ones to point this out to the very nice wardens after we overshoot the entrance. A local person thankfully directed us back to the site. There is a lovely 2 1/2 mile walk around the adjacent lake and the site is ideal to see the other towns nearby. Only other issue was a badly leaking tap at the chemical toilet area which resulted in several folk getting their feet wet. We will use this site again.

Got lost on the final approach

Got lost on the final approach to the caravan site due to lack of Caravan & Motorhome sign. When following the instructions which state 'In 90mtrs turn L' look for a black sign that states 'Forfar Loch Country Park', also on the sign is a small black and white caravan symbol. The orange Caravan & Motorhome sign is only visible at the site entrance. Site well kept and great for visiting Glamis Castle and surrounding area.

Lovely site

The site is spotless, managed by a really nice couple. Forfar is within walking distance, it has a variety of supermarkets and local shops, and has good bus service links to Dundee and other destinations. The Cullen Skink at the Mill on the outskirts of town is 5 star. Only negatives were the 0500 dawn chorus by gulls and pigeons, boy racers between 2100 and 2200, and a tap on a serviced pitch that turns itself off during the hours of darkness.

Fabulous site

This is my favourite site out of all the ones I have been to. Extremely clean and spacious. Everything is nearby; a lovely walk around the loch, crazy golf in the park next door (bring your own putter and golf ball), the Forfar path network goes for miles in all directions and the town centre is only a few minutes walk away. Glen Clova is a short drive away and is well worth a visit.

Great location close to town

Made my first visit here last month and was given a really nice warm welcome. ideal location so close to the town centre, or for a lovely walk round the lake next to the site. Facilities clean as a whistle and highly recommended

What a great site!

Needed somewhere to stay while visiting an elderly relative and also needed to take campervan out for its first trip of the season! I normally opt for CLs but this site is in a very convenient location and looked nice. And it is. Amazingly good value (£26 for 2 nights with hook up) brilliant level hardstanding spacious pitches, spotless facilities (and plenty of them), hairdryer, very good showers with plenty of hooks and space, plenty of bins, taps and waste disposal points, plus very friendly wardens. And just a 5 - 20 minute walk into Forfar to get bus to wherever.  I see one reviewer wasn't keen as it has a "municipal" feel.  I do understand what they mean but for me it was actually quite reminiscent of some of the great municipal sites there are in France, in that is quiet but also quite conveniently urban!

First Class Site

Just returned home after my third stay at Forfar Lochside. The facilities were, as usual, immaculate due to the the hard working, friendly wardens who never seemed to stop for a break. I hope they enjoy a lot of rest and recuperation now that the site is closed. Perfect for anyone wishing to explore the many interesting places in Angus and with easy access to Forfar itself which has supermarkets and other useful shops and businesses. Dog walkers will find the excellent trail around the loch directly outside the gates. Nature lovers will be well rewarded too with many surprises. I saw an Osprey fishing the loch from my pitch last summer and the numbers of over wintering duck and geese were starting to build up on this visit. An excellent site with great wardens. I will return.
