Great Location

Staff very helpful. Good size pitches. Very Clean facilities. A problem with noise one night with a party in a neighbouring caravan until past midnight. Great location for stopover and longer stays.

Great first experience!

Arrived Friday and stayed one night as newbies in our old motorhome. Staff friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers spotless and secure. Best tip is to get out for a walk straight away. On site, it can seem basic but the country park is stunning and just a couple of minutes walk from every pitch. So much to do and see, BBQs, lake, steam train, loads of wildlife, play areas, a cafe. Will definitely be returning. Shame our old girl broke down the next morning and we never made it to our second site at Sandringham and spent 6 hours on the hard shoulder! Recommending Ferry Meadows and Caravan Club but not Green Flag!!

Home from home

We are regular visitors to this site being only 25 minuets drive from home it is convenient for a quick weekend away. The facilities are excellent and if you love walking or outdoor activities you have ferry meadows country park and a cycle way close by and a golf course. There is a beefeater at the top of the lane and a garden centre I would recommend the windmill pub close by. The staff give you a lovely welcome on arrival and are happy to help with any enquiries we shall be back again soon.

Ferry Meadows

First impressions are often improtant and sadly this site didnt offer a good one. Upon arrival, I was unaware that I was required to aleviate the bordem of the staff by playing some sort of 'cat and mouse' game with the security barriers. As the site is divided in to 2 halfs, there are security barriers for both sides (but you are not suppolied a card for them). We circled the first site and could not find a pitch we liked, so we aproached the exit barrier (which was not automatic) and I had to leave the card and walk to the office. They opened the barrier when I was within 10 yards of the office. When then toured the 2nd site but it was virtually full, so we attempted to exit the site and return to the 1st site. Once again, as we had no card (and there are no staff on this side), the barriers did not open, and despite the CCTV cameras (no intercom) they did not open them. This required me to walk the several hiundred yards to the office to reuest they open the barrier. Having retuned to the car, they proceeded to open the wrong barrier. The staff were also not receptive to the suggection that they may want to concider issuing 'finding pitch' cards and then exchange it for the actual pitch card when found, but instead commented that if they handed cards out for people searching for pitches, they would need double the amount for the site?? There is lots to do, which is a shame, as general site security was also a concern for us due to comments about bike thefts etc, and the site had a general uneasy atmosphere, so we will not be retuning in a hurry to this site.

Fun for all

Top site, perfect for a family break. The staff are great, cleanliness of the facilities is second to none and the site is situated in a perfect spot.

One night stop-over

We stayed for one night only on our way north. The site is well placed if using it for this purpose, close to major roads. The usual CC facilities were clean and well cared for, the short walk to the nearest pub, a Harvester, was not a good idea though as the place was a typical fast food eatery with fizzy beer and kid staff.

Fab site

Stayed for a weekend just into the school summer holidays with our 1 and 4 yr olds and although (as expected) it was very busy the facilities and staff were great. Seemed well thought out and cared for. It's very close to the Nene Valley Railway (NVR) which was a great day out on an old steam train and coaches. We'll be back.

Not happy

Very disappointed and we will not be coming back. We came here with my young family and 3 other family's. This site is Not family oriented. Our children was restricted on everything they done. Couldn't ride there bikes wasn't allowed to play ball games but all the others family's was still allowed to. We was very considerate to caravans surrounding us.  We had 6 empty pitches around us so had plenty of room. And was still restricted. This site also has bad problems with bike theft yr average bike lock is very unsafe and not advisable yet the park still has no security.  Wardens very unfriendly

Great site ideal for families

We've been coming to Ferry Meadows for many years, first with our own children and now with grandchildren. It is ideally sectioned off into two separate sections - East and West. We stayed on the west because we didn't have children with us all the time and it is quieter that side. The disadvantage of the pitch we were on 113) was that it was close to the main road going into the park and therefore noisy. Still we were staying during school holidays so fair enough. The wardens are very friendly and keep the facilities spotless - it's just a shame that some visitors don't have the respect for nice clean facilities. There were posters up about a possible very large play centre for children and exercise area for adults too. Although we can see that those with young families would probably love it I think it is not in keeping with the ethos of the Caravan Club. After all it is a club, not a commercial site. Do hope these comments can be passed on to the decision makers on the new proposals. Overall a wonderful site in a fantastic location

Great - as always!

We stay at Ferry Meadows regularly on trips to and from Scotland. It is a delight - even though we would not go there if peace and quiet was the main aim. We enjoy the family atmosphere and abundance of wildlife. The wardens are always charming and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
