First Class Novice Experience !!

This site has perfect. It had everything we needed for our first ever Motorhome trip! The staff were friendly and helpful. Site super clean. Great for exploring the Nene Valley. We felt the kids were safe. Enjoyed our meal in 'The Granary' but best to book! Loved the steam railway and the kids had fun at 'The lakeside' canoeing. Would love the site to have a slightly bigger shop and we were not aware that we had to order in our Sunday paper! Just outside the gate (very short walk) was a visitors centre and café. Dogs very welcome here as well. We will return!

Excellence

I have been on 5 other sites this year,4 good, and one that could have been better, however this site is run so well it stands out above the others. Within a few minutes stroll is a large country park, a steam railway, a pub/ restaurant and a garden centre. In fact the only fault I could find was the poor wifi service, which appears to be the case on most sites come on caravan club sort this out this has been a problem for at least the last three years

From 5th July to 19th july

Have been coming to ferry meadows for the last 25 years and have just returned home after 2 weeks, this is our third stay this year the site, facilities and park are all great and usually have no complaints till now, they are that some vehicles are far exceeding the speed limit, and I accept the 12 o clock rule and the wardens discretion when that can be relaxed but I would like to know why hard standing have a 12 o clock departure but if you are on grass you can stay till 2pm WHY.

Excellent place for golf.

Stayed from 9th July through to 16th July. Good location with easy access to 2 very good "pay & play" golf courses. During our stay we had 3 rounds of golf and after mid-day, with a senior's rate of £7.50, they are unbelievable value. As always the site was well managed & the facilities were spotless. A couple of comments - we pitched near to the road into Ferry Meadows Country Park and we found this surprisingly noisy given the it went nowhere & at about 3.00am one night we were woken by the Nene Valley Steam Train - very bizarre. In spite of this our major complaint would be the very poor WIFI - we have come to expect good connections on most Caravan Club sites & pay for a year's service - this one was very poor! Nevertheless we had a good stay.

Great site, brilliant for dog owners

Just got back from a couple of days here as a 'try out' A lovely site, efficiently run. 5 to 10 minutes off the A1. Split into 2 halves, west side is mainly hard standing, east site is mainly grass. Pitches are generous and mainly under trees. Toilet block centrally located on both sites. The Park, Ferry Meadows, is just lovely. Lots of good walks around the lakes and bordered by large fields. an absolute haven for walkers and dog owners. Nice little café in the park near the entrance and another on the far side of one of the lakes, if you fancy a breather on your walks. Play parks for kids and a sandpit for the younger ones. In the visitors centre you will find publicised a whole range of activities being held in the park. You can even loan a mobility scooter for a donation if you legs cant take the distance. Walks range from 2 to 4km, if you do the whole circuit around the outside I reckon its about 6km, but I didn't measure it. Halfway up Ham lane is a train station for the Nene Valley railway. At the end of Ham lane is pub/restaurant, Local shops are about 5 mins drive (15 mins walk) There is a Londis and a good Chinese takeaway, which isn't listed on the sites info sheet, but really ought to be. All in all a great site in a brilliant location. We will be going back for sure.

Great Site and Park

We stayed from 8/7/15 till 12/7/15. Could not find fault with anything. Great site and the wardens could not have been better. All facilities were kept to a very high standard. Easy Motorhome service point. Hard standing with plenty of room. Enjoyed our walks round the park, lots of trails. We will be returning. Thanks to all the staff.

Merry Feadows

Faultless site, Arrived before the 5pm Friday rush and checked in. This is a busy site, but you'd not guess that. This year we were sent over to the mainly grass side - East side. The pitches were nice and wide, not hemmed in with plenty of  space for the kids to play. The grass pitches were hard as nails, I found you had to use hard standing type metal pegs. Toilets and all facilities clean and tidy. We did not use the chip van so cannot comment on that, Fri, Sat and Weds if you fancy it. They have a ice cream van too that tours the site, portions were large not too pricey and meant they could go off and buy one remaining in sight. Just a weekend again, but a nice site handy for the park and its play grounds. Ideal for dogs. Rabbits appear at night, ducks and squirrels during the day. Wardens OK.  Speeding sadly remains a problem on this site.

Centrally located well run site with good facilities and lots to do.

This was our first visit of 2015 to the site and at a busy weekend. The organisation for the some 165 outfits arriving was good but to say it was friendly would be stretching it. We found a good pitch that had line of sight for satellite TV and although the site was v/busy its so well laid out there was no noise or disruption, no queue for washrooms etc. which were very clean. There is so much to do in the area and as it was weekend we used the Nene valley steam railway on an all day rover ticket, 50% 0ff with the club site receipt. Fab day visiting Peterborough and Wansford etc whilst drinking Hoegarden Belgian beer on a steam train !!! . Peterborough has good shopping but Cathedral visit is a must, Live music in the market square on Sarturday . The local area around the site has so much to offer, try the walk to Orton Waterville for instance, Thatched cottages, The windmill pub, local shops that sell decent wines and beers at reasonable prices . Turn right out of main site entrance and left onto main road past golf course , cross main road following signposts for local shops. Hope you will be as pleased as we were at this chocolate box village. Great site and we will stay again
