Having just returned from this site, after a 3 night stay we have to say we were impressed and have already booked for May 2024. The site is most suitable for adults having no children’s play area etc. The facilities were good - quite well aged but kept spotlessly clean. Bonus having a pub in walking distance, woods to explore and a bus stop for trips into Hastings. All in all a lovely site we would recommend.
Really warm welcome when booking in, good pitches and showers. Excellent dog walking opposite in the 120 acre woodland trust land.
The Two Sawyers pub serves, in my opinion, some of the best pub grub in the area. It’s less than a five minute walk from the bottom of the site.
A great place for a long weekend stay which we visit two or three times a year.
A very warm welcome from the managers who were very knowledgeable about the area. Immaculate pitches.A110 acres of dog walk opposite the site and a less than 10min walk through the woods to the pub which is under new management and very nice food. Half way through the week the relief managers came in and we’re just as friendly
Around the area there is nice places to visit although we thought Hastings looked a bit run down, the seafront was a nice walk and the old town fishing area was interesting. Rye was well worth the visit as was Battle Abbey
All in all a very nice and immaculately well kept site. WELL DONE SITE MANAGERS
Our first time at a club site and this was perfect, not too big and the site wardens Dean and Cheryl were very helpful and the site is an absolute credit to them, they never seemed to sop working. Lovely woods right opposite the site entrance to walk the dogs which had luckily dried up for when we visited at the end of May.
Cheryl also gave us a printed sheet detailing the walk to Pett level Beach, which has a nice cafe and church, there are a lot of stiles to negotiate on the walk and they don't have dogs gates in them so they need to jump or be lifted over. Easy walk through the woods to the Two Sawyers pub where we had two nice meals and some good local beer.
Very warm welcome and a lovely pitch. The showers and toilets are the best I've seen on a site. They include several large cubicles, plentiful hot water with easy controls and spotlessly clean. Washing up room was also great and although I didn't check it out I did notice a laundry room. Short walk through woods to The Two Sawyers pub which is dog-friendly and lots of outdoor seating so we had a meal there the first night. Had a walk in Guestling Woods across the road and a trip down to Pett Level beach. The site doesn't have much for kids and that's fine for us as it was so peaceful even though it was the bank holiday weekend at the start of half term and fully booked. It is the most dog-friendly site I've ever been on and every pitch had at least one. Definitely take heed of the directions and don't come in via the north of Watermill Lane even if your satnav tells you to.
A lovely well managed site. We visit every May bank holiday weekend and the site managers are lovely. very chatty and approachable.
The site is in a great location and in May the bluebells smell lovely. There is a local pub a short walk from the campsite and they welcome families and plenty of outdoor seating for when you have a dog.
The managers had just started decorating for the Kings coronation as we were leaving .. this site is a hidden Gem and the managers make it a lovely peaceful stay...
WOW! We had enjoyed a couple of nights at Norman's Bay and wanted to stay a further night closer to Hastings. We booked for just one's nights stay online the evening before our arrival. What a little gem of a place! We were extremely impressed with a warm welcome and shown to our pitch, within a few minutes of arrival we had set up and were walking through the most beautiful bluebell wood to the pub! That afternoon, we enjoyed a longer walk in the beautiful 110 acre wood across the road. I wish we could post a photo of our little dog enjoying his walks here. I truly recommend this site to anyone who enjoys the morning chorus, the fresh air, and of course trees and bluebells. Hoping to return again this time next year. Fabulous!
This was our first visit to this site and we were very impressed with the lovely location and the warm welcome from the site staff. We did think the site could do with some maintenance - there was a broken fence outside the facilities block and at the back of our pitch a gap in the fence had red and white plastic tape tied to it, which looked scruffy. Having said that, we loved the peaceful location and there is plenty of walking from the site too. We hope to return one day.
This is a small woodland site which is so peaceful and serene, one of the loveliest sites we have stayed at. Really clean and well maintained, just wish the club would use mixer taps instead of hot and cold on basins.
Circumstances meant we left early evening instead of the following morning. The track to the site is very narrow which means no passing but, the Warden told us they were expecting a late arrival which would clash with our leaving. To make sure we didn't leave while the latecomer was arriving the Warden kept in touch with the late arriver by phone and kept us updated. We got away with no problem thanks to her efforts and going the extra mile. A real "Star".
This is one of our favourite sites. Tucked away near woods. Small site. Quiet and peaceful. Perfect for relaxing. And only 5-10 minutes from nearest supermarket.
