Perfect site

I probably shouldn't say this as I may struggle to book a stay here again, but this is the best caravan site we have ever stayed at. Very small number of pitches, widely spaced in beautiful surroundings in middle of fabulous woods. The woods were carpeted with bluebells, hundreds of birds everywhere - we saw a nesting mistle thrush, wren, jays, chiff chaff plus.... Very peaceful (apart from the glorious dawn chorus). Does not cater for children and no facilities on site, which suits us, but is a very short walk through the lovely woods to a traditional old pub. Lots to do in he area with Hastings nearby and local nature reserves. Site was spotlessly clean, modern shower blocks with separate private cubicles with washbasins, the couple who ran the site are extremely friendly, helpful and obliging - we were running late in arriving through major roadworks and a road closed by police and feared we would not make the 7pm deadline, but a phone call to the owners assured us it would n ot be a problem. I cannot recommend this site more highly and we certanly plan to stay there again.

Hidden Little Gem

Great location, lovely clean site well looked after. 10 minutes walk to pub always helpful. Close to Hastings, Battle, Bodium Castle. Rye is well worth a visit. We'll be coming back soon.

Ticks All The Boxes

Everything we could wish for was at this lovely site. Spotlessly clean, friendly warden (and other campers), quiet and peaceful surroundings with the woods being so beautiful this time of year profuse with bluebells & other wild flowers. A real gem of a site.

Quiet and relaxing

Excellent site, small and very quiet. Toilets and showers were spotless, warm and clean. The wardens were friendly and very helpful. The surrounding woods are an absolute pleasure to walk round with many routes. The 5 min walk to the nearest pub and restaurant was our favourite walk ! Hastings and the country parks, the sea and Rye are all nearby and all excellent. We will be returning in due course. Well recommended.

Great Site to Explore Area From

We first came to this site in late 90's. It has changed somewhat since then, but waking to the sound of woodpeckers remains. Having a rescue dog. Our own "Irish Traveller", an Irish Red & White Setter bitch called Amber. This was doggy heaven for her first time away in our caravan. She absolutely loved it. The wooded walks on her doorstep, plus the Fire Hills and beach close by were her a delight, and ours. The site remains, as we remember it, - very quiet, wonderfully clean and tidy everywhere. Friendly and exceptionally helpful Wardens who helped direct me to nearest Halfords to buy a replacement leisure battery, as ours completely failed whilst using the van mover. If I have one small reservation, it is not the site, but the narrow lane to access it. Fortunately, all those approaching us on our way to and from the site whilst towing, helpfully positioned their vehicles in order that we could proceed with very little hassle. We mainly use CL's as our caravan has all onboard facilities. However, it was great to reacquaint ourselves with this gem of a site. We'll be back!

A wonderful place for a quiet stay in nature

Lovely setting in woodland, spacious pitches, helpful staff, spotless facilities, wonderful walking on your doorstep. And a short walk through woods and fields to a friendly pub with decent food. Will definitely return.

A gem of a site

Having the need for a short break away from home we picked this site to give it a try. What a lovely spot in the woods. Proximity to one of the local pubs and also links via bus into Hastings all worked well for us. The wardens were just brilliant - welcoming, helpful and informative - as Arnie would say "we'll be back"

Lovely quiet location !

Stayed for a week. Staff were terrific, friendly and helpful. The woods surrounding the site are full of flowers and birds, although there are quite a few muddy ponds for dogs to roll in. Pitches were good, facilities were spotless, particularly liked the doors on the washing up area, on chilly nights its quite useful. My only criticism was the approach to the site which is quite a long narrow road and I also found the directions confusing, although once found they did make a kind of sense. Altogether a lovely weeks holiday within easy reach of Hastings and the beautiful nearby Fairlight country park...not to be missed if you have dogs. The local pub is great although it gets crowded and you'll need to reserve a table if you want to eat. Excellent site ,,full marks
