Fairly good

Nice setting but choose your pitch carefully as ours (last one available) was in the shade all day. Facilities good but only 3 gents which caused a queue one morning for a sit down. Great dog walk in the woods across the road. Easy walk through woods to the Two Sawyers pub, good food but very busy on the day we went. Overall pretty good apart from the members opposite it. It was one of their birthdays and the sat outside all day and most of the evening drinking, getting louder and passing comments about sexuality, race etc. which should have been kept to themselves, and their 3 dogs were not on leads but the wardens just ignored it.

A lovely setting

Just returned from a week at this lovely site. Wonderfully arranged pitches amongst the trees; quiet location and, as no specific facilties for amusing children, this a haven for us teachers! The ablution block was spotlessly clean and the whole site well managed. The walk to the local pub (The Two Sawyers) is well marked from the site and - as other reviewers have stated - well worth a visit. Great location for exploring Sussex and Kent. Plenty in these areas to do so we will definitely be visiting again. WARNING: like many modern travellers we used a SatNav to get to Fairlight (travelling from Essex).  If travelling from the East/North and you do want a better postcode TN35 4LW takes you to the White Hart PH, Guestling where you turn immediately LEFT (opposite the pub) and then reprogram SatNav to TN35 4HY for the site. It is narrow roadway but there are passing places.

Beautiful site among the trees

We have visited this site on two occasions and have not been disappointed . Our grandchildren love it there, especially the woods to play in and walk through . When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the courteous and friendly staff who booked us in. The toilets were spotlessly clean and the site altogether clean and tidy. A credit to the staff.

Peace and Tranquility in the Forest

What an excellent site. Small, but perfectly formed as they say and is a haven of peace and tranquility. Facilities are well up to standard and spotless. The site is in a woodland setting with easy access to the adjacent Guestling Wood for dog walking, or just walking yourself and admiring the wildlife. In the other direction, a 5 minute woodland walk takes you to "The Two Sawyers" a smashing old English pub, with great food and ales. It's also dog friendly. A gem of a site, not to be missed.

An absolute pleasure

My girlfriend and I decided to nip off for a one night stay here straight after work on a Friday. Work blues vanished instantly as we parked up on site. Tranquil woodland setting with some excellent walks right on it's doorstep. The welcome and facilities were warm and pleasant, just what you'd want. We will definitely be visiting this site again.

Beautiful site

A lovely little site, very peaceful apart for bird song. Lots of lovely walking just outside your door, I can imagine the woods that border the site would have been amazing when the blue bells were in bloom. Lovely walk through the woods to a lovely pub. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for August. Thoroughly recommend.

A well kept peaceful site

We stayed at this site for four night s from 1-5th May. We can only reiterate what others have said. It is a beautiful little woodland site, scrupulously clean and well kept. The shower block was immaculate and so good to have unlimited warm water (without the need to keep pushing a button!!). The welcome was friendly and helpful. So easy to get into Hastings and to the surrounding countryside. A very small suggestion of clear information regarding buses and where to get them (I know we could have asked) displayed in the information room please. We do like to use local transport where possible. The site does not cater for children so there are no facilities. As others have said - well worth a return visit.

An excellent venue

We are becoming serial visitors, like many others who we meet. Well worth a visit, and the wardens a delight to interact with.

Splendid

We stayed on this site for 3 nights over the May day bank holiday weekend. Perfect site, very quiet, staff very friendly and helpful. It took us 2.5 hours to walk into Hastings town along the coastal path, lovely views and lots of up and down steep paths. Great bluebell woods to the back of the site which leads you to a nearby pub which serves very nice food. Easy walk or cycle into Winchelsea. Guestling woods are opposite the site entrance which has lots of lovely walks. We were visiting relatives in Hasting so will look forward to staying on this site again. Shower block was lovely and clean.
