Home away from Home

We've been touring for 5 weeks around the UK, staying mainly in Club sites and have had 3 separate stays at Fairlight. Whilst all the club sites and wardens have been very good, the Fairlight site and the wardens Sue and John are in a class on their own. The site is smallish but well laid out, with good privacy between most pitches and an easy walk to the facilities. Plenty of service points and a spotlessly clean and modern toilet block. A short walk thru the woods is a lovely Pub with good food and beer and well priced. The only downside is the last 800m drive into the site is on a single track lane. We had no problems, but it is narrow. Also take care NOT to turn right leaving the site (or to approach from that side) as its 2 miles of single track with no passing bays. We are now in Europe for 6 months, but will definately return to Fairlight if the opportunity arises.

A perfect bank holiday

A great weekend had a Fairlight woods Site. This is the smallest CMC site we have been on and we loved it. It’s set in Fairlight woods so lots of trees around, good size pitches and very clean facilities. The wardens are super friendly. If you have dogs and they love woodlands then this site is perfect. There is a woodland to one side of the site that has lots of different paths you can take. Then the woodland at the bottom of the site goes through to an open grass area and a good pub! I did not see a play area for children (but i was not really looking), however there were a number of families on site with kids who were playing on their bikes. We have a large twin axle unit which meant our pitch was allocted for us, we dont mind this and are very used it it due to our size. My top tip is to ensure you follow the directions on the website as the road is narrow on the approach, if you come the wrong way you will not be able to turn into the site. All in all a very nice site, one I would recommend and certainly visit again.

Peaceful & chilled atmosphere

We stayed here for a long weekend in May, 11th - 14th. It was very peaceful with a chilled atmosphere, a great site for dogs. There's a lovely walk through the forest to the local pub. The site, showers and toilets were immaculately clean. The wardens were very welcoming and friendly. The site is only a few miles from Pett Level Beach which is dog friendly and when the tide is out has a massive sandy beach with rock pools and the ancient sunken forest. There's a lovely forest/meadow walk directly opposite the site across the road called Guestling Woods. We will definitely stay here again, us and our dogs absolutely loved it.

relaxing peaceful site

Wonderful site within beautiful woodland, full of bluebells and wood anemones and plenty of wildlife to see. Facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and very helpful. A lovely experience, we loved it our dogs loved it even more! We can't wait to go back there again.

Delightful

What a gorgeous little Site. Set in a lovely wood, Primroses, Wood Anemones and Bluebells abound. A warm welcome from the Wardens, very clean facilities and a great little shop. The bonus is a 5 minute walk through the Bluebell wood to the Pub! But respect the arrival time though, otherwise you will cause chaos and the Wardens will be cleaning 'til 12 anyway.

Idyllic quiet site

This was our first visit to Fairlight Wood Site (13 - 17 Apr 2018). What a gem it was. Small and quiet site, ideal to rest and relax. Great for our dogs as well, as woods. Dog walk from site and woods just across the road. Hastings Country Park just a few minutes drive, which also has fantastic views inland and across the sea. Food shopping within 10-15 mins (variety of well known supermarkets). We We are a couple with two dogs, and found this site ideal for us. We will definitely be returning.

great site

This is our 3rd visit to this site and it never fails to please , the wardens are very friendly and helpful . The weather was not so kind this trip and as reported in a previous review got a little bit boggy , apart from that we bought a bird feeder and set it up outside the caravan , not expecting to see much but was very surprised , loads of nuthatch robin bluetit greattit chaffinch and thrushes . as always the 2 sawyers pub was outstanding, first class meals . also visited Hastings old town full of different small shops and not forgetting the adventure golf on the sea front . If you like walks then the beach at winchelsea is ideal and lots of sand perfect for dogs . We will be back again .

Lovely and peaceful

Lovely site and very friendly wardens. Usual standard of cleanliness. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too good and the site and surrounding woodlands gets very boggy. Would return but more of a summer site

Lovely Little Site

Tranquil, peaceful site set in a wood, short stroll through the woods to a country pub with great food. Another 5 minutes on from this is a lovely little tea rooms, with great views over the hills & valleys. Very friendly & helpful staff. Spotless facilities, with lots of hot water when using showers. We will defintley return.

Lovely tranquil site

This was our first ever stay at a Caravan Club site and just our second ever trip in our new motorhome. Very pleased with the site - very tranquil, good sized pitches, super helpful and friendly wardens and clean facilities. Just a short walk to The Two Sawyers pub for an excellent lunch and also a short walk to the village shop. We'll be back for longer next time.
