GREAT SITE

this site is lovely, we go here for short weekend breaks as we live in somerset, the wardens are fantastic, very friendly and really helpful, and the site is really well looked after, top marks to the wardens.

Gloriously Peaceful

Access to the site is straight forward with the entrance being directly off the A396. Wardens very friendly and accomodating.  The site has both hard standing and grass pitches, but hard standing only being used in the winter months. The pitches are terraced and level with some being close to the road.  Facilities were spotless. The nearby Anchor Inn is dog friendly and serves decent food. Orange and Tesco mobile signals a bit hit and miss and to watch TV you will need a booster cable to hook up. Large dog walk on site, but can  get a bit boggy after heavy rain. A Co-op is in nearby Dulverton or for bigger supermarkets a journey to Tiverton is necessary.

Short Stay

The distance to this site is a little outside our usual weekend distance, but as we have not used this site decided to have a go. Currently at Tiverton the A361 is closed and a part diversion moves traffic onto the A396. I don't know if the traffic past the site was increased due to this diversion but there was some minor traffic noise. The wardens were polite and helpful and also alert to people wandering around. It is a large site with 1 toilet/shower block, it might get busy in high season! A great site for access to the moors. Hope to return for a longer stay next year.

Excellent

What an excellent site this is.  Friendly and fastidious wardens, superb views and great location. What more could you want from a site. My wife and I booked a short stay first weekend in October. Our first time in this area and we found the Exe Valley beautiful. Close enough for a visit to Minehead and Dunster, Dulverton worth a look on your way to Tarr steps and Exmoor National Park, Wimblehall Lake in the Brendon Hills and Knightshayes Court near Tiverton. It was a busy few days but we still had time to enjoy the sunsets at Exebridge Lakeside. We'll be back.

Great Site

Probably the best site I have been on. Toilet block immaculate thanks to the efforts of the very helpful and friendly Wardens; piped music and even flowers in the men's toilets - great! The rest of the site was in lovely condition and very well organised. Quiet time of the year so not sure how it will cope at peak times although I'm sure the current Warden team will do everything to make it good.

Lovely stay, but….

Having stayed many times at Exebridge, Lakeside this holiday was somewhat disappointing. NOT I may add because of the main or relief wardens, who as always. do a superb job running and keeping the site brilliant, as always. This time though there was an incident of what I can only call vandalism by probably one spineless member who seemed not to like the very pleasant background music, so much so, that they ripped out the speaker wires in the mens toilets. How pleasant some members can be on behalf of others. Probably members who you talk to on site and they probably come across as pleasant. If you don’t like something , anything , talk to the warden and NOT upset the great proportion of members who DO enjoy the background music. For heavens sake how long do you spend in the toilets to make you carry out such a cowardly act. Note at this time there were no children on site, the majority were retirement age ‘ish. Also may I add, but personally have no proof of that another act of vandalism has been actioned,to the aerial which feeds the music system. Could it be the same person ? To my next point, it is apparent that a fair portion of the dog walk is now to become a fenced off area for up to six TENTS, is this really needed ? Perhaps other members may wish to comment, via the website, on this proposal ? This is possibly some idea conjured up by head office OR some area manager to cram a few more people on the site ? Having been on the site when it was full to capacity, this time, I had to queue on more than one occasion for a shower and W.C. Not a major problem for me but it seems to indicate the site cannot really cope with existing numbers ? but the need for more people i.e. the campers seems crazy. Money could be far better spent by converting the existing grass pitches to all weather, as was done last winter (with concealed hard standings) to make all pitches usable ALL year ?. Finally, the most unpleasant part, toilets that are left in such a disgusting condition , in both mens  AND women's in a condition I can only describe as similar to what my dogs do, but I clean up after my dogs, but on site the poor Wardens have to clean up after such disgusting members. Again its highly likely you speak to these members whilst on site. It beggars belief to me people can leave a W.C in such a state for others to walk in and find. Apart from all the above a great site great main and relief Wardens, they certainly earn their money. Perhaps if other members who were on the same site and have had similar "experiences" they may wish to comment ? But beware please create your review as a word document FIRST before filling in on line and then copy and paste on to website . You may lose all otherwise The site could be better designed ?

Excellent site

Excellent site, excellent location, good clean facilities etc. etc. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Downside would be our club members who flaunt rules regarding dogs; i.e. - club members exercising dogs around site and not in the dog exercise area. Club members exercising dogs in children's play area- but only when our warden wasn't looking!!!!!

Always a pleasure to return

This was our 3rd visit in 5 years and the standard is always high. Other reviewers have covered all the major points, but I agree that more hard standings would be good - we were lucky enough to get one on the lower area away from the road noise, so it was quiet too - perfect. The wardens are great ... unobtrusive but magically appear if you need anything! Love the Bridge pub in Dulverton. We will be back.
