On arrival at this site it was dark, we had never been here before and we were told to pick a pitch. Unfortunately there wasn’t much in the way of lights to guide us. Once we got set up and settled we loved it. The site is level and hard standing all the way around. The facilities were clean, if could do with a bit of a refurb. The staff are more than helpful. Coming up to Christmas it was not over full. Hogmanay however it was full to bursting. I have heard people complaining about the noise from planes coming into land at nearby airport, to us it was fascinating seeing them and kept us entertained. The minibus from the site into Edinburgh is a plus if you can walk. It dropped us at the “wrong end” of Princes Street to the Christmas market and with mobility problems was not good. When we went back to be picked up we waited nearly an hour and it never arrived. After that it was taxis. This is a site we will return to although not in our present unit,
What a wonderful minibus
The shower block was certainly tired and aircraft noise was quite intrusive at night, and
flights went on until at least 2am. However the minibus service into the city centre was
very good, taking 15 minutes, and much quicker than a service bus, which entailed a 20 minutes walk to a bus stop and 45 minutes trip into town.
It was disappointing to find that there was no shop in reception as there was nothing
in the immediate vicinity, and the odd pint of milk would have been useful.

Lovely Stay
We had a lovely stay on this site first week in November 2018, the wardens were very helpful and went out of their way to fit us in for an additional night, toilets were spotless, highly recommend this site.
Excellent site for the unique city of Edinburgh
Great site with excellent facilities and friendly wardens - one gripe - the cisterns in the ladies toilets are woefully inadequate.
Reading all the aircraft noise comments, earplugs do the job, however, after 11pm there are few flights if any.
Bus stops about 10 min walk away offer variety of routes and the ÂŁ4 all day ticket is fantastic value.
Great Site
Had a very enjoyable week here. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Superb base to explore Edinburgh.
Only minor downside were the planes, but it makes for a shared experience with the locals.
Pre-Halloween Visit
Only my 2nd visit to this well-located site for visiting Edinburgh. It did not disappoint, the site was relatively quiet, ideal for my purpose for two nights to attend courses and workshops at a nearby hotel, whilst allowing the dogs to come along too and be close to me during the day for walkies from the Hotel car park.
Sit is well run immaculate toilets and facilities.
Great location on the Firth of Forth, near Crammionf Island with great coastal walks
Full moon and clear sky made it spectacular the first evening.
Edinburgh trip - late September 2018
We'd never been to Edinburgh so were keen to explore all the sights and the Marine Drive site gave us very easy access to the City and surrounding area. It's an easy walk to the bus stop where a 10 minutely service takes you directly into the City Centre - don't even attempt to drive there the wardens said, and we could see exactly what they meant.
It's a hop and skip to the Ring Road so you can get south of Edinburgh very easily - visit Rosslyn Chapel it's fascinating.
Then just round the corner from the site you can see across the Estuary and out to sea with a lovely little beach area with cafe.
Very helpful wardens. We needed to have the towing socket on the car replaced whilst we were there and we were given a print out of local businesses from which we found a mobile caravan electrician and arranged with the wardens for him to come on site to do the work.
It's a very well kept site. There is some aircraft noise but we were out and about most of the time and it really didn't bother us at all. We didn't have any children with us so it's hard to judge if it's good for families but all seemed in line with other CMC sites.
This is a great site for seeing Edinburgh

Autumn stop over
Had a really delightful stay at this site, loved the retro red pennants at the gate and was welcomed very very friendly and helpful wardens. Pitches were a good size, clean and level and the overall layout of the site was great. The site is close to the beach and sea font, a steady walk to town with friendly pubs that have sea views - all dog friendly. Only a short bus ride from the city centre, the wardens recommended a pub which served great food and beer!
Been to some wonderful caravan club sites over the year, but this must now be our favourite.
Can’t wait to visit again.
Late Autumn Break
This is a very well kept clean site with excellent wardens. The annual income it brings to the Edinburgh area is not appreciated by the City council as the nearest bus service is about 3/4 mile away via a rough path or a street which is used by a lot of boy racers both day and night both without street lighting.
There is also a fair bit of aircraft noise especially when the flights are landing to the West.
We have just spent 8 nights and had very good weather and had an excellent time in Edinburgh, but there was the usual few dog owners on site with 4 or five dogs on leads or not, who are too lazy to take them off site to do their business fouling other peoples pitches. The wardens are absolutely powerless to monitor such behavior. I sometimes feel like this club should have been named Caravan Motorhome and Dog Club. What really annoys me is that we have to pay for the Grandchildren and some one with four dogs pays no extra. Dog charges would be a very good revenue stream for the Club.

Various noises
Very windy when we were there, but above the wind noise was somebody's surround sound TV (owner's description, not our guess.) Why would anybody think surround sound TV with its repetitive boomy base is acceptable in a caravan? Then we were aware of a truck's engine starting and it driving off at about 6am each of 4 mornings. I thought most sites had restrictions on movement and/or locked barriers overnight? Without much doubt he was off to work, and there were other examples of high-vis jackets etc. There's only one site we know of ( not CMHC) that allows such residential use, and they force worker's vehicles to park outside the barrier. The aeroplane noise came fourth, partly because the club clearly has no control over that! Our little area didn't feel much like a club site.
In it's favour, the rest of the site was as you'd expect, it was ideal for Edinburgh and the shuttle bus very useful
