First Stay

We arrived at this site on the off-chance of a pitch and were greeted by very pleasant wardens. The site was not full and we were given the opportunity to pick our own pitch from the available ones which was a very nice touch. The site was very clean and tidy despite torrential rain a few days before we arrived and the warden advised us of the pitches that were still drying out. The site is very open to the wind but that is to be expected due to it's location. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk and is sand not stones. It would be nice to have level hard standings for motor homes but that aside it was a very pleasant overnight stay and we will certainly be back for a longer period.

Great Views.

Stayed here in September. Had a great pitch (No9) with smashing views of the beach and sea. Just a stroll onto a lovely wide sandy beach. Wardens were very friendly and gave good suggestions as to where to go. They worked very hard and kept the site very clean and tidy, a hard job for just the two of them. It is handily placed for John O' Groats and a boat trip across to the Orkneys. Only downside is a little bit out for Petrol and supermarkets. Otherwise a great site.

Fabulous location

Stayed here for two nights and what a beautiful spot. The beach is amazing with fab sunsets to be seen. The site is spotless which is mainly down to the hard work of the site staff.  Some members seem to have issues with how to park in relation to the peg, that's your responsibility , don't make life harder than necesarry for the staff. My only issue is the lack of wifi on Highland sites which is not down to staff. We stayed on much less established sites , more remote and were able to get access to wifi. Come on CC club get it sorted.

Downside

There is no internet available for us customers to use yet it is in the office. The caravan club said internet would be available on all sites but not not in the highlands although they want us to peruse and book on line. So come on caravan club, why not here or in Brora or the other sites?

On The Beach

Just walk through the dunes and there you are, right on a beautiful sandy beach in a huge bay. Small, well laid out site with good pitch sizes. Helpful, friendly wardens who kept the site very clean. Excellent facilities and perfect for touring the north coast of Scotland

Far north tranquility

Janet and Phil (wardens) really made our stay special. We are new to caravanning,  Phil and Janet helped us and gave great advice with all our little problems. A great thanks to the team.  The site is very clean, professionally cared for, and a great location next to the beach. Recommend for all those looking for a peaceful break.

tranquillity accessed

We arrived for our four night stay and the site was lovely,  right next to the beach with easy access. There were lots of local things to see and we ran out of time so booked another two nights. The wardens were very helpful and friendly although they were having difficulties getting site users to slow down to the 5mph on site. We didn't want to leave and we would like to return when we can, as there is so much more to see.

Hardworking wardens

We were so lucky to have fabulous weather for our weeks stay, unfortunately it brought with it a lot of over 'nighters' and people turning up on spec. The poor wardens were run off their feet working all hours, yet they always had a smile and a kind word and kept the site scrupulously clean and tidy. How they managed all this with little or no breaks is amazing. A site which really could do with a deputy. Security was a bit of an issue as anyone can get in the gate at night. I was also accosted outside the toilet block by a woman pretending to have forgotten her key. Fortunately I know how to manage people like her, but could be disconcerting for others. People can access the site from the beach and the car park, which again is an extra strain on the wardens. Some of the behaviour I witnessed from other site users towards the wardens was so rude, yet they still remained so calm and nice. The rules of the club and the sighting of caravans, campers and tents are made for the safety of everyone. I was sad to see so may trying to abuse these rules and the poor wardens having to repeat themselves. In all a wonderful site, loads of local attractions to visit if that is your thing, or even a ferry trip to one of the isles. The locals are very friendly and will go out of their way to help people. If it wasn't so far away I'd go back tomorrow, I didn't want to leave.
