Decided to join the club here following experience with friendly and helpful staff.
For us this was a perfect site to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery. The beach was appreciated many times a day by our dog as well as ourselves.
Go to local shops in Thurso etc ( 3 supermarkets) and specialists and buy your basics: bread, milk and free range eggs from the site. Then just chill.
Visitors Centre above reception is one of the best we have seen. Dunnet Head is well worth a visit but comply with the warning signs to avoid becoming a grisly statistic for the coast guards ... Selfies are the most dangerous type of photography!
Bright and breezy
Pitch on grass but seemed firm even after rain. Breezy while we were there but it was the far north of Scotland so no surprises there! Excellent facilities, fantastic location, and helpful staff.
Fantastic location
First time here, what can you say. Fantasic location, what a wonderful beach, there were times when we had it all to ourselves, dog loved it. Wardens great, facilities spotless. Can't fault it at all.
Perfect location for NC500
Stayed here 2 nights. This is a good choice for anyone doing the NC 500. The site is easy to access and the facilities are excellent. The site is exposed and from talking to people It seems to be permenantly windy. Be aware that the site is right next to the road and there is a surprising amount of traffic. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Would certainly recommend this site.
Excellent staff and beautiful views
Lovely site, excellent staff. Walked up to Gin distillery. Missed the tour as no times listed in brochure. 6 miles up to Dunnet Head.

Great place
Arrived at dunnet bay to a friendly welcome from Stewart and Chris
Very busy site but we had an excellent pitch (50)
Great sea views.
Our dog loved the beach as did we.
Plenty to do in the area and we were quite lucky with the weather.
Very windy site so I would use an awning there.
Shop before you go or it's 25min drive.
Great site would return in the future
Stunning Views
Excellent site with beautiful views over the beaches and Dunnet Bay. Had a good bike run to John O' Groats on a relatively quiet road. Also great walks along the beach where you could walk for miles and see so many different things. Took the bus to Thurso which was a little disappointing and a bit run down although we didn't stray much off the beaten track just through the town centre and down towards the water. This site is worth a visit and we will surely return. Again very helpful wardens.
NC500 trip
Managed to get booked in at last minute as site was fully booked. Friendly staff. Beach access within a few feet of the site with terrific views and sunsets. Ideal for trips to Dunnet Head and Castle Mey. There's a hotel that does decent meals a short walk from the site with a gin/vodka distillery next door to it. Across the road are woodland walk.
Look forward to coming again.
Great site in beautiful area
Great site in a lovely location. Access to the beach straight from the site, lovely community forest walk opposite and short drive to beautiful Dunnet Head with views to Orkney and the Old Man of Hoy when clear. Site facilities always spotless. But the big benefit of this site are the current wardens, Stewart and Chris. They went above and beyond to help when my husband was ill over our first few days òn site. They were very sympathetic and dealt with a difficult situation very professionally. Caravan and Motorhome Club take note - they are a credit to you.
