Good Site

This is a good site very good pitches with sea views, all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were immaculate and site is well maintained, but it is very open and the wind can be a problem but if you get the good weather you will love it. A must visit for food is the Ship in Mortehoe, we will return next year

Great views

Great views and great pitches. Bus stop right outside entrance ( great if motorhome is too big to drive round ) Beautifully kept grounds on a working farm but did not disturb the campers, Wonderful place The gribbons

A 'return to' site

This site is near perfect. It is large but it was very quiet and peaceful as the pitches are well appointed and not too close to each other. We had a very friendly welcome at reception and we had a lovely, level hardstanding pitch with sea views. There are many country walks available directly from the site toward the sea. I walked for miles up to the lighthouse. Nearby (turn right out of the site) you can access the nearest village and enjoy one of two pubs that serve good pub grub. There is a local shop and tea rooms too. Further down to the coast you will reach Woolacoombe. The toilets/showers etc were spotless and there are laundry facilities too. The shop on site was very handy and sold newspapers/groceries/fresh bread/coffees etc. We wlll return again and again. Thank you.

Wow!!

Stayed for 3 nights. New to caravanning and the staff were very helpful, man with the tractor positioned the unit on site on arrival and 3 wardens offered their advice and helped us to hitch up on the morning we were leaving. Stunning views, well maintained site, very good facilities which includes a fully stocked shop. Would visit again.

fantastic stay

Just had 5 night stay here as part of a 10 day getaway so here are our thoughts of it. An outstanding site clean, immaculately maintained, perfect amenities block, well stocked shop, friendly and helpful staff, idyllic location with sea views, lots of space to walk dogs , there is an open spacious feel to the site it doesn’t feel cramped or hemmed in anywhere There is a bus stop right outside for those that don’t want to use a car or are in a large motor home (that’s us) lots of places to visit, a hard site to fault. Only possible niggle is lack of rubbish bins around the site, there is a statement that it is to stop the gulls and birds but that I am not sure that is valid, they were not a problem on our next seaside pitch but that is looking hard for something to moan about it is a fantastic site in a wonderful part of the country.

Idyllic week

We have just spent themost wonderful week at Damage Barton and it was just perfect. (Ok, so the weather was unbelievably warm and sunny every day, which was a bonus in April) We found the site to be most wonderful in all respects and could not fault anything at all. The views are breathtaking. Pitches are very well laid out, well maintained and of a very generous size. Both WC blocks are great, immaculately clean & some of the best showers we have come across. The 2 dog exercise areas are also good, the lower one having brilliant views across the bay to Wales, while you walk your pooch. This site is so well maintained, with the friendly wardens continually working to keep the whole site looking so manicured! The hardstanding pitches are often raked when vacated, something not often seen anywhere, so always look neat and tidy. And not forgetting the on-site shop which stocks most of everything you need, such a bonus. Without a doubt we will be returning to Damage Barton again and again.

Pretty much Campsite Nirvana

I put Damage Barton in my top 5 of UK campsites. We only stayed a couple of days last week and wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the many attributes of this fantastic place. The people are friendly, knowledgeable and really care, the facilities are well thought out and spotless, the pitches are spread wide apart and tiered and Damage Barton probably has the best view of any Campsite in England. 180 degrees of uninterrupted seascape of the Bristol Channel and 180 degrees of clear skies........ perfect.. It even has its own wee shop where Anna will also serve you a fresh cappuccino and croissant. Within a short drive ( even by motorhome) of Woolacombe and Ilfracombe with their vast sandy surfing beaches there's plenty for most to do...... TIP..find Marine Drive in Woolacombe and park up for fabulous beach/ sea-views and some peace. Thank you Helen and the team. We'll be back !
