This site is a little off the beaten track but well worth the drive. About 6 miles from Inverness, out in the hills, it has a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. There is a bus stop just outside where you can catch the bus direct to Inverness for all your shopping needs. Although it has a small kids play area, I'd say it's not really kid friendly as the site roads are a bit narrow and tight. However, if you're a dog owner, then you are spoilt. Just through the gate to the dog walk and you're into a forest area where your dog can run for miles. Terrific. Wardens were very helpful, as always, and the toilets were immaculate. Minor problem is that TV reception is not digital so if you don't have a satellite dish, you're limited to the 5 terrestial sites or take a selection of DVD's. History buffs are catered for as the Culloden Battlefield is just over a mile along the road and well worth a visit. All in all, a great little site and one which we'll return to.
Great Site
Very friendly helpful Wardens. Lovely views. Facilities excellent. Good position for visiting Inverness and surrounding area. We were only there for 2 nights but visited the Culloden Battlefield close by, well worth seeing. Will return to this site to explore more.
Lovely site
What a lovely site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean facilities. The only downside is you can only receive 5 analogue channels. We needed to purchase a 25 metre aerial lead to plug into the site booster in order to pick the channels up. We can use the lead on future sites tho so not a waste. We would definately return to this site again
New access / egress arrangements
We have stayed at Culloden Moor many times & have always been delighted with the facilities & the friendly wardens. We visited last weekend and found that the site road access / egress has been changed, the road leading from the west side of the site has been blocked off to form a cul de sac where it meets the incoming road. On enquiring why this had been changed the warden informed me that it was due to a health & safety survey which recommended the site roads be turned into a one way system which will eventually mean that you have to go all the way around the perimeter of the site to get to your chosen pitch. Having towed large trailers & caravans safely for the last 40+ years I am at a loss to understand the thinking behind the changes. As the owner of a 8.2m twin axle caravan I think it will be nigh on impossible to make the cut back at the west end of the toilet block to access the lower part of the site without going off the site road or maneouvering to get round. As the site speed limit is 5 mph I cannot see what the problem was with the original layout. An explanation would be greatly appreciated
Peaceful getaway
Stayed here for 1 night on our tour of Scotland. Lovely peaceful setting but close to lots of attractions & facilities.
My only criticism would be the laundry facilities. There is only one washer & one drier.
Stopover on way home from Northern England
Warden was extremely helpful in advising which pitch to use as we have a long motorhome. We have used this campsite on a number of occasions and although it is some distance from Inverness itself, it never fails to provide peaceful and well presented surroundings, especially the toilet block.

Just Great
Location ideal for Inverness/Moray Coast and Black Isle. Wardens polite and helpful and toilets etc spotless.
Lovely staff, great site
When we arrived on this site we discovered that our Motorhome was missing a window! The staff were really kind and helpful and made a very good temporary repair which allowed us to carry on with our holiday. "thank you so much". We were only there overnight but managed to see the Culloden battlefield which was worth seeing and we cycled the mile or so along the road to the Culloden Moor Inn for a really fantastic dinner. The site was neat, quiet and clean and we would definitely like to return.
caravaner from Northumberland
Good site for exploring Inverness area toilets and facilities were superb. disappointed with pitches very weedy, site in general looked a bit neglected. Not much scope for dog walking woodland walk not very far and site borders a busy road not good for walking.

Great Holiday Location
The Culloden Moor site is ideally located just outside Inverness. The site itself is on a slope which gives great views over the valley. Some of the pitches are slightly sloping but not too bad.
The facilities are clean and warm and easily accessible from all areas of the site. We were at the top end of the site and could not hear any traffic noise on only the occasional train approaching the nearby viaduct.
The site is only a mile away from the Culloden Moor Battlefield, which is well worth visit. Inverness Centre is only 10 minutes down the road and has many supermarkets and department stores. A trip to Fort George is recommended,
Further afield is the town of Nairn, which has an excellent beach. Elgin is also definitely worth a visit.
I would recommend this site for anyone wanting to visit the Inverness area.
