Great Place

We really enjoyed our stay last week, the only complaint was the weather and you have no control over that !! the site is lovely and shower block is kept clean which is very important, and I also enjoyed the music. We will certainly be back. Thank you. Ian Smith

Good Site, dodgy changes to access

Good site because of its location. Excellent for a stay in Inverness, and good for a staged stop off if heading for the Northern Isles. The recent changes to traffic flow don't seem to make sense. The changes mean that every vehicle has to follow a long and meandering way through the site, passing every other vehicle and caravan on site. This means that everyone will pass you either on their way in, or their way out and, for motor homes, on their way to get water. Tedious, noisy, and potentially dangerous.

A rude awakening

I've used this site as a convenient stop on my way north several times but am reluctant to do so again after visiting in June this year and being awakened at 2am by a cockerel next door! It crowed until 5am, when it thankfully started raining. I also don't like the 24 hour a day radio in the toilet block - I go on holiday to escape the news so I'd rather not be subject to it while showering. The site is clean and well kept with good facilities but not exactly peaceful.

Good stopover site

Stopped over in motorhome for one night en route from far north. Not far off A9 so quite handy. Great wardens, facilities and really nice woodland for walk. Road was a bit noisy with motorbikes (Sunday afternoon) but OK at night.

Wish we could have stayed longer

This is a lovely site, well laid out with great views. We were only there for one night but really enjoyed our stay. The forest walks were great for the dogs, and the facilities very clean and tidy. We did find that the directions from the A9 coming North were confusing, and we are familiar with the area, however we got there in the end. Would like to have stayed longer explored more, but intend to go back.

A week in August

A great site, plenty of walking areas for the dogs, in fact the best dog walk area I have come across! The local beaches are great and so much to do in the area whatever your taste. The Black Isle and coast to the north of the Cromaty Firth is a great place for kids to explore.

3-day visit

Very nice site with most helpful and friendly staff. Facilities beautifully clean. Only problem we had was with television reception and no wifi. As our site was at the lower part of the site we were unable to get a terrestrial TV signal and trees put paid to getting satellite reception. There is a TV point on each hook-up, but it is "analogue", so, if your tv has a built-in DVB-T tuner, you can't use it. As to wifi, we think all sites that charge a premium rate for overnight stays should provide a secure wifi connection with passwords available from reception. Except for those points, we liked staying here and will definitely return.

Amazing dog walk

We only got to stay here 2 nights, as we had to cut our journey short. However it was a very pleasant stay. We pitched up in the lower field, facing the field and park, so we could keep an eye on our daughters. One of the great things about this site, is the dog walk. Go through the gate and you are in a huge forest, which we never got to the end of. It goes without saying that our dog enjoyed his stay as much as we did. The only issues we had with the site, was road noise at rush hours, and no wifi. Will definitely be going back there, hopefully for longer next time.

Delightful little site

This site is a little off the beaten track but well worth the drive. About 6 miles from Inverness, out in the hills, it has a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. There is a bus stop just outside where you can catch the bus direct to Inverness for all your shopping needs. Although it has a small kids play area, I'd say it's not really kid friendly as the site roads are a bit narrow and tight. However, if you're a dog owner, then you are spoilt. Just through the gate to the dog walk and you're into a forest area where your dog can run for miles. Terrific. Wardens were very helpful, as always, and the toilets were immaculate. Minor problem is that TV reception is not digital so if you don't have a satellite dish, you're limited to the 5 terrestial sites or take a selection of DVD's. History buffs are catered for as the Culloden Battlefield is just over a mile along the road and well worth a visit. All in all, a great little site and one which we'll return to.
