Lovely Site - But In The Middle Of Nowhere

Snowdonia is absolutely stunning and this site is in the heart of it (twixt coast and country) but you do need transport to get around as all the attractions involve a drive. The site is immaculately kept and organised into small glades with no more than a dozen or so units in each. In the village is a pub (with no food) but that is all - everything else is by car. Not far to Bodnant gardens (wow), Portmerion (wow) and Conwy and Harlech castles (wow) and numerous seaside resorts. Enjoyable drive onto the Lleyn peninsula and into the heart of Snowdonia where everything of an outdoor nature (including inland surfing at Surf Snowdonia) is available. Nice site.

Nice Place

Stayed here twelve days late July, very nice site ,easy access , lots of trees and greenery, sheep and cows on doorstep, not noisy even with lots of children there , you just have to dodge the bikes occasionally . My wife and l felt the shower and toilet facilities , though clean were in need of updating not a lot of room in shower and washing cubicles, and l am not large.never really have anything to do with the wardens apart from booking in , some were walking round with their heads down (maybe that's all the rain ) Lovely area with stunning beaches ( Harlech especially) loads to see and do , walking, cycling climbing, canyoning,Snowdon lovely but windy and misty on top , nice to be able to go on walks from the site , if they improve the showers will definitely be back

First time at this fantastic site But not the last

We stayed at this site for 6 nights and found it to be lovely well laid out immaculate the facilities were spotless and the staff second to none they were pleasant helpful and unobtrusive.the site itself lends itself to wanting to walk or motor there are large towns in the area . the Ffestiniog railway and port merion museum are not far away also Potmadoch have some lovely shops and pubs we were very surprised how dog friendly cafes and shops were. Beaches abound in this area for surfing and swimming. Snowdonia national park is all around and beautiful we took a wrong turn and ended up going along what was more a footpath than a car path but were set on our ways by a pleasant young lady off one of the farms great day out All in all lovely stay.then on our departure day we had car trouble but the staff were kindness and helpful to end I don't want to praise this site to highly you all will want to come. So we won't get back on 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

A Peaceful and Restful Stay

We had a lovely 10 night stay at this site very friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean and hygienic in the shower and toilet area. The pressure in the showers could be better but they were still lovely and warm. A very quiet and peaceful site apart from the crows waking us up in the morning. The site is very central to lots of attractions, a trip on the Ffestiniog steam railway was very enjoyable unfortunately we couldn't travel on the Snowdonia railway as we had our dogs with us but there is a Doggy Day Care facility nearby if you want to leave them and if you want to visit Portmerrion dogs aren't allowed in there either which was disappointing. There are some beaches which allow dogs on and Barmouth was a lovely day out in fact we went twice as it was so nice. A big thank you to Sarah helping us out on our departure as we had a mechanical problem with our caravan and had to leave it to be recovered and she gave us a call to inform us that it had been collected and handled it all very well. We will be back. Our first time to Wales but not the last.

A quiet week

We had a very pleasant week at this site there were a lot of units booked in most nights but we still found it very quiet.Although it is in the middle of nowhere it was quite handy for a host of different things to do and places to visit. There were plenty of walks around the site area and the staff were only too pleased to point you in the right direction with a printed route (if you are into that kind of thing). We found the staff very friendly and the site was kept in an excellent condition. This was our first time at this location and found it relaxing and the area worth the visit.

Even better second visit

This was our second visit to Coed-Y-Llwyn (one day I will learn how to pronounce it)! This time we hitched our car to the motorhome which gave us more freedom to tour the area. Although only a three night stay we were able to visit many of the local points of interest and spend a day on the Ffestiniog Railway - what a treat and a great thing to do on a wet and windy day.. Site is nicely spaced and kept immaculate by the wardens. A friendly welcome and lots of peace and quite. Enjoyed it the first time, and the second - here's to the third.

Great site

Great site but beware ! A lot of the hard standing pitches slope substantially either side to side, front to back or in some cases both. We had to abandon our first choice as our plastic leveling ramp was not high enough to correct the sideways slope. Changed to a front to back sloper and our wooden blocks JUST enabled us to get the van level. Pitching up wasn't much fun specially in pouring rain !

Lovely Weeks Holiday

This was our first week away with our little girl and we could not have been more delighted with the location and the friendless of the staff. Ideally situated for both the beech and the mountains with lots to do in close proximity. We spent our first day at Port Merion before venturing to Snowdon to take a ride on the steam train. The facility's on site are kept very clean and the staff helped us with our questions and provided guidance on what to do and where to go on rainy days. The site is very safe and secure and apart from the general stress of looking after a 2 year old we had a most relaxing holiday. Thank you again to all the staff for making our stay special and providing the bacon for our bacon buttys. We will be back. Shaun, Suzanne and Katie
