Perfectly Acceptable But No Comms Facility

This was our first visit to Clumber, chosen for its proximity to a relatives' house that we had to clear out. The wardens were extremely friendly and welcoming but as we arrived on a Saturday, the choice of pitches was very limited. Only the hard standing pitches were in use and it felt very busy - not sure what it is like when all the grass pitches are in full swing too. We found the facilities to be acceptable - very clean and not as dire as previous reviewers have made out (we were using the bottom toilet block) - I have seen older and more dated showers on the network. Easy access into Clumber Park with plenty of walking but unless you're a NT member, be ready for a £7.00 car park charge anywhere on the estate. As we were there for a purpose, I can't comment on things to do further afield. Supermarkets at Worksop and Ollerton. We didn't have children with us but there is an excellent play area. There is no mobile signal on EE - I believe it is the same for other networks - but there is a good signal down by the lake. The WiFi is at best extremely poor, and at worst, non -existent. The CC/Airangel need to decide whether to say there is no internet or upgrade the whole system and provide something that is fit for purpose. We have an annual subscription but to anyone thinking about buying 'airtime' for the duration of their stay at Clumber, I would say, don't waste your money.

Time to spend some money Caravan Club

Oh boy, this site is, as others have commented, in need of serious restoration...The toilet block is still in the 1970s, it is clean but you don't feel it is as everything is so dated. Don't get me wrong the site is well located if you want to avoid the £7.00 per day parking charge in Clumber Park but there are many other (non CC) sites in the area with better facilities at a better price. We will not go back until CC spend some of our money.

In need of investment...

Just returned from our first trip of the year, our local site so we go at least 4-5 times per year. The toilet blocks are clean but in serious need of investment. The showers mixers are old, leaking, cracked and covered in limescale. Something that reminds me of my old communal showers at school! Dated - yes, clean - yes, just need to start spending some of our member fees on smartening the place up a bit.

Another Great Stay

Stayed here last weekend. Clumber is one of my favourite places to get away from it all. I love the cycle routes especially when my young grandson accompanies me. It should be even more enjoyable as my other grandson rode his bike for the first time without stabilisers at Clumber over the weekend. Pretty cold and the weather wasn't brilliant but got a cycle ride in during the morning and ventured out and about in the afternoon on the Saturday. Site quite busy with it being half term. We shall return as the grandkids enjoy the place as much as me. Just need to sort the ongoing saga of no wifi or it's not working.

Beautiful site

Clumber park is a truly beautiful part of the country.  The caravan site was lovely, surrounded by forest which was great for dog walking and cycling. Having to put the bikes in the lockable compound was no problem at all. The site was quiet and very clean. There were also lots to do around that area. The reason I have given it a 4 star ( and some may say this should deserve 5 star) was because there was no wifi. We paid for it through caravan club but there was still very little.  Would definitely recommend this site. The day we got back we booked to go again in the summer.

easy and relaxing

Staying at clumber park with my daughter and two grandchildren can only be described as fun filled. The children aged 3 and 5 years old took scooters and enjoyed going up and down passed the caravan and because the pitches are well apart were able to see them at all times. The amenities were warm and spotless even though we had temperatures of -5' . The visitors centre was a stone throw away and the walks through the woods were great. Looking forward to returning very soon Sharon

Lovely site, great stay, thank you

Spent Sunday till Saturday last week at this site. The abundance of wild life is a joy to watch. Lovely walks and lots to do in the area for those who want to go further afield. A thourily enjoyable break. The site is well kept, there are hard working, helpfull wardens. The wet room facilities were ok. I found them clean each time I used them. The showers were adequate, easy to regulate and use. I agree that they could do with a little up dating but even so I have used far worse in other caravan club sites. This is all in all a very good site. For sure we plan to use again and would reccommend to friends and family.

Past sell by date!

The site is in a great location and the wardens are friendly and helpful. The facilities are very tired and well worn, in desperate need of updating. The wardens keep toilets and showers spotless, it's such a shame users of the ladies don't clean up after themselves hence the low score. Come on Caravan Club, spend some money updating facilities
