Have only just started caravanning again, (1st time in 11 years), but loved every minute of it in our new caravan, despite the teething problems we had with it. Clumber Park is perfect for peace and quiet, walking and the best fish and chips I have had in a long while. Go early to the chip van or you will have to queue for ages as it is very popular. Downside of site is the fact there are no pubs or shops in walking distance, otherwise perfect.
First time on a cc site
Lovely site in a top setting. Friendly wardens and all staff. CC members were all friendly too. Great weekend had by all. I enjoyed no phone signal, wifi etc. Actually chatted to my wife instead.

Barking Dogs
This is a great site in a fantastic location.
Two things spoilt it.
During the week this being a big site it was quite, however the weekend brought the dog owners who can't or won't keep them quite. The is no phone signal however just off site there is ( come on CC install a mast). Wi fi rubbish
The toilets are starting to look tired.

Lovely Site ....... however......
Usual review: Lovely site in a lovely area, helpful & friendly staff. HOWEVER my usual strong reservation that in this day and age lack of both wifi and mobile 'phone signal are not things we should have to tolerate.
Dog Walking Heaven
This must be one ,if not the quietus cite in UK. Set in a vast park and surrounded with trees it justifies it's reputation for peace and quiet. One strange fact. although about in t.he middle of Englannd there is no mobile phone connection and wifi is poor. The TV signal requires a hook up with the cite relay. Excellent dog
walking with access directly from the cite as well as huge areals in the surrounding park. I have been twice and not busy?
stopover on way home from Berwick site..
site located in beautiful surroundings of Clumber park. toilet block's paneling just starting to show wear, but kept clean by site staff. good location to visit local point's of interest, no Bus service local to site, had to drive every where. not a problem if you want to make good use of the Park or relax.
Weeds
On entering the site we thought what a spectacular flower display a lot of work involved there. An excellent reception from the husband and wife assisstants (sorry don't know your name but keep up the good work). Unfortunately walking round the site we were dissapointed to see the amount of weeds on the pitches, on some pitches it was difficult to distinguish between grass and hardstandings. It would seem most work has been spent on flowers not on site. Sad to see.

Good location
Used this site for a short stopover after a couple of weeks touring. Liked the location and access to the park but as a solo caravanner I found the site a little noisy and it felt overcrowded, however I can see why it appeals to families as there is plenty to do on the site and surroundings.
Will return
We stayed here over bank holiday weekend. Large site with good choice of pitches grass and hard standing. Great Central children's park. Fabulous site for families and is a more upbeat busier site than other club sites. Lots of people come from local areas and friends join at night time for a drink and then go home.
Great for dogs and bikes. There is a bike lock at night time.
Not really for people wanting a peaceful and tranquil site if going during school holidays as it's definitely geared towards the kids.
Nice clean toilets and showers as you expect.
Only draw back that we found was people walking straight through your pitch. I mean no shame, you will be sat there and they will either walk past you or the other way past your car.our pitch was near the park so it was used as a cut through instead of using path. Also adults were doing it to get to the toilet block instead of walking an extra 10cm to use the path. There are some pitches where you have to do this to get through one of the dog walk gates, so you get why,but I used the other as I don't like doing it to others. My pet hate. Kids ride bikes past peoples cars on pitch also. I saw a few people had put windbreaks up to stop people doing it.
It wouldn't prevent me from returning I would just use the windbreak idea as I think pitches and space need to be respected. But because the site offered so much for us I would definitely return and wouldn't let it put you off.
