first time stopping at clumber pk managed to pitch on hard standing found the site spacious and the one way system save traffic issues, was surprised to hear about issues with bikes been stolen on site but they offer free use of a good bike store just remember to still lock your bike inside store. Toilets was dated having to step back into shower area to open shower door in cubical is asking for a revamp but was clean
love the site location been able to head out on bike or walking with plenty of routes/trails in NT clumber pk or going to nearby Sherwood pines/forest or Rufford abbey
Clumber Park
The site is quiet very spacious and welcoming. The toilet blocks are a little tired but we always found them clean. The NT Clumber park near by had plenty of walks which we tried and the house and grounds are grand and pleasant even in the Autumn. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Very Pleasant Stay
Probably one of the quietest sites we have stayed on very spacious & welcoming. I agree the toilet blocks are a little tired but we always found them clean. The NT Clumber park near by had plenty of walks & cycle hire available which we tried but we found our mind more willing than our legs ! The Workhouse also NT not too far from the site was well worth a visit. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
Our Childhood playground
Having grown up near to the park visiting bring back fond memories for us. As we are now approaching retirement we prefer to visit during quieter periods though. we find it to be a great location for walking and cycling. We only wish that we hadn't picked a pitch under a tree as the caravan roof took quite a time to clean. Thanks also to the wardens for their warm welcome
A little relieved to be leaving!
We only booked a short stay but during this time we found the site clean and tidy and the wardens very helpful. The site is located adjacent to Clumber Park so there are loads of walks and cycling straight off the site. I think I preferred the cycling as the walking tends to be along bridleways. Sherwood Forest is a short cycle ride from the site. The surrounding area is very beautiful. A few minus points. There are two shower blocks but only 4 showers were available in each. On a busy site the wardens had difficulties keeping up with the traffic in and out of the shower blocks. They would certainly benefit from some refurbishment. The main issue for us was the ongoing reminders that cycle theft is rife. To counter this the police apparently patrol the park at night. The Caravan Club have erected 2 large but discreet cycle sheds that have cctv and are alarmed. We were grateful for this facility but our holiday was tainted by the ongoing concern that this area had a major theft problem. It is certainly not the Clubs fault, but I felt a little relieved to be leaving with all my possessions. I may be over reacting but I love the peace and security of the Caravan Club sites, something Clumber park failed to deliver.
First Visit
This was our first visit to this site. It was only 90minutes from home, can't believe we had not been here before. The site was very well looked after and facilities very clean. One of the toilet blocks had a faulty boiler but there was no shortage of hot water. Could have done with a bit of heat in the block. The area around was easy accessible for walkers and cyclists. Overall a great weekend and will be going back.

Disappointing
We have been using Clumber for many years, both as a base to explore the area, and as a stopover due to its convenient location just a few miles off the A1.
One of my personal gripes for many years, the site was always fully booked over protracted weekend periods due to members making block bookings at the start of the season and then cancelling at the last moment if the weather looked bad. It would appear the Club's more recent policy on late cancellations is working as we managed a weekend break on this visit.
We had been away for almost a month and Clumber was a last stop of the six sites we've stayed on this trip. I'm not sure how to word this, but if I say we had five previous warm arrival welcomes with often a good degree of friendly banter, the sixth was somewhat mediocre! Is this as a result of the expected stress to staff on a Friday evening invasion of weekend arrivals?
Clearly we had an unexpected choice of available pitches mid afternoon, with all nearly taken by late evening. Not for the first time I had a namesake also arriving on the day, and yes I had been tagged as the the wrong option on the site's arrival list. My wife went to the office to advise which pitch we had taken to be asked had she brought our card as they had to amend the mistake, to which she replied a rather obvious No! The response was oh we'll have to amend, the tone not exactly apologetic for a mistake not of our making. When I returned with the payment card, I was given a somewhat curt reply of we've got it sorted. Before, when such an incident has happened, I've had the wardens coming to my van offering an apology for the mistake and inviting me to call at the office when next passing, something of a different approach.
I didn't find the toilet block a problem, other than the shower cubicles somewhat small by usual standards, but my wife felt the ladies block was looking decidedly tired.
Communication with the outside world has always been a problem, but there is a spot on the dog walk where I've always been able to get a mobile signal. Unfortunately, the forestry commission were felling/maintaining trees and the walk closed. The alternative was to email, and as it states in the General Site Information -- Wifi internet access is available on site. Please ask Wardens for details, and the answer from them -- it hasn't been available for ? Having just invested in a year's subscription to have Internet access on club sites, I am somewhat disappointed is an understatement. If, as was suggested in conversation there are problems of getting cabling into the site, then the alternative of a satellite connection has to be considered. There are other providers than Sky!
How long is it going to be before members understand what 5 MPH is? In recent years 5 mph in vehicles I've owned is first gear and no more than 1200rpm, in fact 1st gear and the engine on tickover without touching the gas pedal gives 4mph with the present set of wheels. When one observes people a
