Did the club not remember to check the gas for Easter

We love this site and visit regularly but this time we were let down. Easter Sunday morning and no hot water in the shower block. Signs went up saying gas pressure problems! Within the hour a gas delivery arrived at the block and within 30 minutes of the delivery there was hot water again. Come on club, be honest, just say you ran out of gas - don't treat us as stupid! Otherwise a good weekend considering the weather.

Above and Beyond........

Clumber is always a favourite of ours and the site is in a great location we usually visit at the beginning of the season and again towards the end of November. Imagine our disappointment when he who shall remain nameless had booked one day short for our intended stay, no problem we will just add an extra day on line as at the time of the year ithe site shouldn’t be full........ How wrong can you be the site was completely full, the reason been numerous pitches had to be left to dry out after the horrendous snow and subsequent heavy rain. Clearly the wardens had been up against it in trying to sort out the problems, so telephoning on a Friday night at the start of the week- end caravan arrivals was perhaps optimistic on our part to try and extend our booking, what sort of a response did we encounter a bright and cheery voice on the end of the phone who managed to convert a recent cancellation to an on line booking without us having to go on line and risk loosing the slot before it showed up on the system. During our stay although the wardens were still up against the aftermath of the weather nothing was to much trouble and all done with a friendly smile.....Now that’s what I call above and beyond service. Thank you

Generally a good site.

Although we have been club members for well in excess of 20 years, and live only 20 minutes away from this site, this was our first visit. We were there for 2 wet nights 12th-13th March 2018. Our first outing in our new van. The site was very peaceful and quite spacious. We did like the reduced fee for using the site mid week out of season. We know the area very well, there is lots to see and do in the area within a short drive. The only slight criticism we would make is that the toilet block (only 1 of the 2 blocks were in use when we visited) although very clean, did look a bit run down and due for renovation. However, we will certainly use the site again.

Excellent site which is well located for a weekend break

We use this site regularly and have always found the site excellent in terms of layout, cleanliness, play park and its location. It is easy to locate and an easy walk/cycle in to Clumber park. As others have said there is no mobile phone signal which we don't find an issue for a weekend. On my most recent visit the weather was cold and snowy and we still enjoyed the walks etc. Our only issue was that the toilet block nearest us was closed for the winter. The site was busy and the other toilet area a good walk in the cold and snow. I do feel if the site has full facilities please use them for the benefit of members.

Perfect escape!

Stopped at the site between 15th an 18th which was the first time out in our van after being away from caravanning for a number of years. We were really impressed with all the staff - the site is friendly and professionally run and very well maintained notwithstanding the cold and icy condition which 'hit' last weekend. The location is great which means it will sort all sorts from those wanting to do more in Clumber Park and those who crave a bit more peace and quiet. Thought we might see some polar bears given the winter conditions but this was the only disappointment ! Great place to stop and thanks again to all those who helped make it such a great stay!

"Perfect!"

We stayed mid week Feb for two nights only, our previous stay was Oct '17. The site is lovely, clean and tidy. Access to the forest is brilliant for dog walking and to access the lake is lovely with two coffee stops on the roughly 7 mile round walk. (Or less if you prefer) we still have lots of forest to explore so will definitely return. The dog shower is a bonus particularly as our first day was muddy, it would be nice if it was warm! But thats foff my hands rather than the dog. All in all a perfect, truly relaxing break. No phone signal at all which is absolutely brilliant!

Cold, but glorious weekend at Clumber

We have stayed at this site many times over the years and it is one of our favourites. This year, we came with the addition of our 10 month old puppy and would highly recommend it to anyone with a dog. I also have to mention the lovely warden who checked us in. I didn’t take her name, but she was so friendly and helpful and gave us the best welcome we’ve had on a club site to date. Despite the February chill, we had glorious sunshine and our two children played in the park during daylight hours when we were on site. The site has a number of direct access points into the forest and we loved walking with our dog through the woods. The walk to the visitors centre is the perfect distance and we ate in the cafe where food was well priced and just what we needed. Facilities on site are immaculate and the bike store really convenient. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Clumber!

lovely stay

A lovely site, plenty of walks straight from the site, wardens are friendly. Showers and toilets are spotless but could do with upgrading. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Dog Friendly Pubs!

We have been coming to Clumber Park for many years and have seen some great developments including the fantastic walled garden. We were chatting to a National Trust Gardener and they have just started a new 10 year development plan to upgrade the whole park. We love walking here and at Rufford Abbey and Sherwood Forest (both very close by). A couple of things to note...THERE IS NOT A PHONE SIGNAL HERE AT ALL... Also some of the pitches are now needing resurfacing. Having said that we had a great stay and found a super dog friendly pub at The Red Lion in Walesby. It's worth travelling that extra bit as the nearest ones at Edwinstowe and The Clumber Park Hotel are pretty naff!

Standard CMC site and all the better for it

Slightly tired looking, this is a standard CMC site and all the better for it. It does the basics very well with enthusiastic wardens. Plenty of space on site and of course, acres of woodland in the surrounding. Excellent wifi. Each day and night, I heard a handful of aeroplanes overnight plus a daily helicopter. Chain saws can be heard as with any forested area. Overall, I reckon it was quiet enough mid week/out of season but at weekends and peak periods, the wardens told me it gets busy. The main area of the park was busy even on a mid week in February but up at the CMC site, you can wander for miles amongst the trees and meet very few people. Some of the paths are bridleways and so are wet and muddy in patches. I stayed three nights on my own - under a tenner a night - and that was enough. One walk in the woods is the same as the next one and so on. It's easy to lose bearings. You can lose your dog!
