Excellent site with very friendly and welcoming wardens ...

Stayed at this site on many occasions and as usual on this stay the wardens were very welcoming on arrival.....site is always very clean and tidy..it’s a shame that some caravaners don’t leave the shower facilities in the same state that they found them in!!!...for this I feel sorry for the wardens who are left to clean up the mess !!!!!

Great site to visit with dogs

Great site to visit with dogs, with direct access from the site to Clumber Park for woodland walks. Lovely walk through the park to the NT lakeside and chapel with “Central Bark” dog friendly cafe.

Love this site

What a great site, so fabulous in winter, the site is so clean and tidy, showers excellent, the walks are fabulous, lunch at the NT is a must. To say it is winter the site is immaculate, very nice and helpful wardens. A pleasure to keep coming back to.

A good location for a relaxing weekend.

We enjoyed our second stay at Clumber Park. It is a great place to relax. The National Trust Park is perfect for a steady pedal on the bikes. Quiet roads or bridleways let you explore the area. Everywhere is also walkable. The National Trust staff at the visitor centre were especially welcoming. Have a look at the huge greenhouse, it's a quarter of a mile long! We also cycled to the Sherwood forest visitors Centre. Easily accessible and well worth it. Clumber Park site is a good location for a relaxing weekend.

Clumber Park for all seasons

Last week saw our second trip this year to Clumber Park site, having previously visited in the summer. These are our observations. 1. Despite being a large site, Clumber Park offers a sense of relaxed space, especially out of season when only hard pitches are in use. Most pitches back onto forest, offering a variety of outlook, wildlife and shade. 2. We were present for a warden hand-over last week and both sets of wardens were friendly, helpful and efficient giving the site a cared-for feeling. 3. Only the main block of facilities was open for winter touring, but this was never an issue. Whilst not ‘brand new’, the facilities are more than adequate and kept beautifully clean. 4. The location is stunning - we caught the autumn colours of the forest walks and enjoyed the 20 minute walk to the National Trust centre for tea in the walled garden. Incidentally, entry is free for walkers and cyclists. There is a wide variety of walks and we recommend that you source a copy of the NT walking guide which is available from the entry kiosks. 5. Do bear in mind that there is no mobile phone signal, and that wifi is limited. For those wanting to check emails and social media, wifi is adequate.

Old and Tired

We stay at Clumber Park often as it is a good stopover off the A1. Great for walking and dogs. Nice staff and grounds well kept. On our last visit we were concered that the wash blocks were so tired. Taps not working or tops of taps missing,, Plumber called 2 weeks ago but had still not fixed a problem. Chipped paint in the disabled stalls and elsewhere. Bins overflowing at 2pm. But it was half term. Members should be informed up front that there is no mobile and no wifi connection. Also there is no bus and you are relatively isolated. The Club should spend some of its £120m turnover on sorting this site out and bringing it up to a good standard. Regards Richard Baker

HALLOWEEN WEEKEND BREAK

Have visited this site many times and always popular with families. Very busy during our visit the only downside was the number of children using the toilets and laundry room as a play area. Felt sorry for the wardens were left to clear the mess up. but we will be happy to visit again.

Very friendly and helpful wardens!!

We stayed at this site for two separate weeks recently due to my husbands work commitments...easy access for me to take him to work and then I had transport for the rest of the day !!!! However as there are lots of walks to do from the site and a lovely cafe at the visitor centre down the road transport is not a requfor each day..... Wardens at all times were friendly and helpful and engaged in regular conversations with me. However..........we chose this site not only for the closeness to my husbands work BUT ALSO for the WiFi accessibility....advertised but the caravan club as SILVER!!!! Definitely NOT SO!!!! WiFi was a must for us both for work and family reasons .....on or first visit after discussing our issue with the wardens there was nothing else they could do t help us....we contacted the caravan club who informed us that it was the problem of air angel and not them ...air angel asked us to contact them by telephone whilst in our caravan to check our issues!!!!! No one seemed to understand that there is also no mobile teleph9ne connection anywhere near the site !! All our calls had to be made when leaving the site and driving quite a few miles away !!! Ok enough now ....we recently paid the full amount for 1 years connection as we use the club sites on a regular basis .so far we havnt been given the service re would like!!!!..We now have another two weeks planned for a return to this site...let’s hope it’s better next time!!!,

Not as good as it used to be

In need of updates now unfortunately, seems the infrastructure cannot cope with busy periods such as this weekend.power outages saturday afternoon and evening due to the volume of people hammering the electrics.shower blocks unusable due to the above and when they were open seemed to be populated with children playing games and generally running riot with no parents to be seen !.the wardens do their best but when members cant be bothered to mop up and keep the place clean for the next user, what chance have they got ? Usual issues of speeding on site, ignoring the one way system and groups of people wandering over pitch between car and caravan.as i say,”things aint what they used to be” Seems to be an issue with people parking on the access road to the site as well.left at 11.30sunday only to meet a caravan coming on to the site and due to cars parked both sides of access road passing was impossible.either change the arrival time to 1pm and enforce the 12 noon departure or double yellow the access road to prevent parking there. Many of the issues arent down to the site to be fair, its a minority of members or guests of members that seem to be an issue. Shame really as it used to be a cracking site, ideal for woodland walks or cycling but not good value anymore with more cons than pros. One tip, go out of site turn right then right on to limetree avenue and within quarter of a mile you get phone and 3g coverage..on02 anyway
