A great site for families, lovely big well spaced pitches. Please be aware and read the notices about the seasonal dog illness which has be reported here, VERY VERY Important if you are taking your dog, yes I did read them but it was only after talking to another dog owner I realised just how ill your dog could become after going into the woods here.
First time here but wont be the last.
We stayed 5 nights from 10th July and it was packed at the weekend.
The wardens were very friendly and done their very best but the bins were bang full most of the time with it being so busy.
We never used the car for the 5 days apart from one trip to supermarket and spent the rest of the time walking around Clumber Park.
The only adverse comment I would make is that toilets and showers are a bit dated but still kept spotless by the hard working staff.
Great site!
Great site very easy to get too from worksop or off the A1 was very busy last weekend and most weekends seem to be booked up. Can be noisy with children playing even tho there is a park for them to play on. Probably not ideal if your looking for total peace and quiet but I'd imagine would be quieter throughout the week and not in school holidays. Facilities good and clean and plenty of hardstanding and grass pitches to choose from. Would definitely return as it's only down the road from us and ideallic!
Not for us..
Having been members for many years we tend to avoid club sites, preferring the CL network.
However we dropped onto Clumber Park for a one night stand on the way back down south.
Safe to say we will not be returning any time soon for all the reasons given by other members.
However it was packed at the the time we were there, so maybe our expectations of a club site are different to others.
Kids, Kids and more kids everywhere
This is a children's site so if you want peace and quiet this is not the site. It is a very open site with multiple public access to it, We caught a prowler around our caravan on Saturday 22nd at around 11pm. So if you do go with children then do not let them out of your site, I thought it was too easy for them to just wonder off into the woods (we do not have children, but was easy to see how one could be lost or taken very easily). Unfortunately it is not a site for us to much noise.
Nice Park but busy
The park is situated in a beautiful area but there is not a great deal to do close by. No internet or phone service so if you have teenagers you may wish to rethink your stay. Lots of children and dogs, so if you do not like either bear that in mind.
Showers, etc., ok and fit for purpose.
We had a lot of noise which was off site at the hall (wedding???) this went on till midnight which was intrusive.
My biggest gripe is visitors to the caravans. I have a picture to the entrance of
Sunday to show the extent of the extra people on the site if the club wishes to view it. This raises lots of questions - for instance security on the site for possessions and children. The guest car park which holds around 30 cars at a guess was full and then the remainder parked near the entrance gate. My biggest concern would be fire engines etc would not be able to gain access to the site. I think this something the club need to address.
Good site, handy for a night or two away!
Nice site, Quiet, plenty of Walks from your pitch, Toilet & Showers could do with updating, but still ok to use & Clean.
NO MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL AND REQUIRES SOME MAINTENANCE
We had a good stay the weather became hotter as the week progressed.
Sadly the lack of MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL in today's world isn't very good at all. i had to leave my eldest daughter at home but like to be contactable should she need me. i had to go 2 miles up the road to pick signal up, but that's no good during the night.
i tried to access the caravan clubs WiFi home page, but that was a waste of time, so couldn't buy a WiFi card.
the site needs some maintenance on both pitches and toilets. The showers were hot for a change and did have some pressure as many don't these days but you pay alot of money for these extras.
a speed camera was stated to be on site, i would LOVE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE caught, as plenty past our caravan, a zebra crossing with people waiting to cross didn't bother some folk, and being next to a toilet block as well. some respect for other people would be nice.
Friendly Staff
Need investment
An excellent welcome by wardens. This site desperately needs some money spent on toilet block the 1st shower in gents top block is an absolute disgrace wall patched to screw shower rail to, I guess its probably rotten behind. We have used this site for almost 15 years and can't remember any refurbishment being done in that time. I see they've spent money for dog wash, bike wash how about some money for the paying guests. Also really needs some attention to the weeds growing on pitches I noticed on a recent visit they were laying new gravel I only hope the weeds were attended to as they'll just come through again.

Great for walking and cycling.
I know the park very well as I lived near Sheffield and walked my dogs every day in Clumber. Ideal location for me to come back and visit friends. You need a car or bike to get anywhere. There is nothing much to see in the park but the walking is superb especially for dogs. Safe off lead woodland walks. The ticks are an issue in spring and summer if you haven’t treated your dog.
I prefer out of school holiday time as there are too many children on bikes in holidays for me to enjoy walking.
There are coffee stops and three cafes to gets drinks, meals and snacks.
The site was very quiet when I stayed recently. Perfect.
Good that BBQ’s are banned in the park during the summer due to fire risk.
The only major issue I have is the lack of phone and TV signal. I bought a weeks WiFi from C&MH club but it was very intermittent. There is a signal in the park but only in certain areas!
