NO MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL AND REQUIRES SOME MAINTENANCE

We had a good stay the weather became hotter as the week progressed. Sadly the lack of MOBILE PHONE SIGNAL in today's world isn't very good at all. i had to leave my eldest daughter at home but like to be contactable should she need me. i had to go 2 miles up the road to pick signal up, but that's no good during the night. i tried to access the caravan clubs WiFi home page, but that was a waste of time, so couldn't buy a WiFi card. the site needs some maintenance on both pitches and toilets. The showers were hot for a change and did have some pressure as many don't these days but you pay alot of money for these extras. a speed camera was stated to be on site, i would LOVE TO KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE caught, as plenty past our caravan, a zebra crossing with people waiting to cross didn't bother some folk, and being next to a toilet block as well. some respect for other people would be nice. Friendly Staff

Need investment

An excellent welcome by wardens. This site desperately needs some money spent on toilet block the 1st shower in gents top block is an absolute disgrace wall patched to screw shower rail to, I guess its probably rotten behind. We have used this site for almost 15 years and can't remember any refurbishment being done in that time. I see they've spent money for dog wash, bike wash how about some money for the paying guests. Also really needs some attention to the weeds growing on pitches I noticed on a recent visit they were laying new gravel I only hope the weeds were attended to as they'll just come through again.

Great for walking and cycling.

I know the park very well as I lived near Sheffield and walked my dogs every day in Clumber. Ideal location for me to come back and visit friends. You need a car or bike to get anywhere. There is nothing much to see in the park but the walking is superb especially for dogs. Safe off lead woodland walks. The ticks are an issue in spring and summer if you haven’t treated your dog. I prefer out of school holiday time as there are too many children on bikes in holidays for me to enjoy walking. There are coffee stops and three cafes to gets drinks, meals and snacks. The site was very quiet when I stayed recently. Perfect. Good that BBQ’s are banned in the park during the summer due to fire risk. The only major issue I have is the lack of phone and TV signal. I bought a weeks WiFi from C&MH club but it was very intermittent. There is a signal in the park but only in certain areas!

A wet weekend

Had a wet weekend at Clumber park. If you like to be cut off from the world and walk and cycle it the place to go. The wardens are very helpful and the toilet block as expected warm and clean. If you want to use your phone (No signal at all) If you want to watch your TV take a cable that will reach between your van and the power connecting post otherwise (No signal). There is not a pub within walking distance. I must admit it was a wet weekend had it been warm and dry it would have been better, but not for me.

Wardens helpfulness

We are regulars at Clumber Park as it is convenient and an ideal location for us and particularly for our grandson to play, cycle etc. The setting is perfect for off-road cycling, exploring, walking/jogging and the Clumber Park centre is always worth a visit. We acknowledge that the internet and telephone signals are pretty poor but we like the site despite these drawbacks. I wanted to just acknowledge how helpful the Wardens are generally but specifically on our latest visit when I had locked my bike in the bike shed and then managed to lose the key to unlock the security cable. Although the wardens were busy they went out of their way to resolve my problem and thereby enable us to enjoy a family day out which would otherwise have been spoiled.

Great site if you want to be cut off from the outside world

First time at this site and it is in a beautiful location. It’s easy to get to and has wonderful adjacent woodland walks, which was great for giving my dogs a good run. The place was very busy with children, which I don’t mind too much except they rode their bikes in between pitches. The adults regularly walked across your pitch space too, which wasn’t very considerate. My biggest complaint though was the complete lack of phone signal (or any signal for SIM card devices). We ended up spending money buying annual CAMC WiFi access only to find it worked intermittently, if at all. I pay for mobile WiFi to ensure I have internet access while away, but there is ZERO signal. The TV signal was really poor too. I am self-employed and can’t afford to go somewhere with no phone signal or good internet access - I lost business while I was away!! If there is no mobile device connection, it should be stated clearly within the Facilities section on the site information. Not adding something so important (AVOIDING) has made me question the openness and honesty of CAMC. I doubt I’ll ever go back to Clumber Park as it’s not suitable for anyone who needs 24-hour access to their clients and family. It’s a shame because it was lovely there.

Good location

Can’t fault location, great for dog walking or cycling as Clumber Park has masses of trails. This is my 4th visit here. Facilities great, generally clean and staff are friendly. As with previous review, pitch space constantly invaded and had one girl ride her bike into the MoHo fortunately no damage. So I guess choose your pitch wisely and perhaps visit when schools not on holiday. Saying that, there was no noise on an evening or early morning, always enjoy my time at Clumber and will be back. Pizza van is a must and definitely, definitely walk over to Clumber Park itself via the trail.

overnight stay

A lovely location well maintained site with off site dog walks through woodlands. The stay was marred by the inconsiderate attitudes of a few, allowing their dogs to run loose on site and the lack of respect the personal space of fellow visitors by walking ( including a young boy accompanied by parents riding his bike at speed) though pitch space and in some instances under our pull out awning.

Well worth a visit

Poor signage for the site until within 100 metres. Well kept and maintained site. Weekend visit and many children on site – no obtrusive noise from them during day or night. Barrier access. Feels an open aspect to drive around to find a pitch. Adequate and easy turning space for all vehicles. Two toilet blocks. Easy Motorhome waste (grey) water disposal over mesh grates. Mobile Food vans regularly visit (Fish and Chips extremely good !) and newspapers can be ordered. Off-lead dog walking is abundant in the surrounding woods and Park. Quiet at night. Poor Wifi signal. Second visit

This was our second visit to this site the first being last September out of school hols. This time we stopped for 1 night at the beginning of bank holiday weekend. Glad it was only for 1 night as site almost full which I have no problem with apart from unsupervised children bombing around on bikes from all directions which makes manouvering around site a little hazardous. My other gripe is dog owners who appear to consider dogs on leads does not apply to them. The first thing greeting me as I opened my motorhome door "a dog". Please dog owners observe the rules not everyone is comfortable with loose dogs.
