Great Location - Great Staff ...Happy Campers

Booked in for 1 night decided to stay for 2 nights, however we had run out of dog food the Wardens (The Baldy One and his glamorous assistant) were very kind and gave us enough from their personal stash. The pitches are clearly being updated so not quite sure about the previous reviews! There were children (it’s School holidays) but we did not encounter any noise that was disturbing. The pitches are pretty generous in size. No phone signal was a bonus. Maybe a tad expensive but it does give you access to Clumber Park. Our first but not last visit. Visited August 2019

Clumber park review

Stayed in August 2019. Site not like in the photos, everything a bit tired, pitches worn, toilet blocks need updating and enlarging. Many children around, in central play area and riding bikes continuously around site. Bikes have to be locked in secure building, so site not secure from local thieves. Site staff very good, but sat Navs take you to wrong entrance, no warning in handbook! Pitches rather unkempt and small and close together. Expensive to stay in August despite sites failings.£33/ night for 2 adults. No phone signal at all nearby. One of worst club items ever stayed at in years! Would not revisit!

Bigger, busier site than appears from pictured

On photos, site and pitches look spacious, but not always the case. Accepting it was first week of summer school holidays, but it may be better out of peak season. We pitched up and a large, loud family subsequently pitched up next to us, which we appreciate can happen anywhere, but if they had been 10 yards further way, it wouldn't have been so bad. More worrying was the receptionist recommending we store our bikes in a secure lock up overnight...'Theives operating in this area' notices all around... something we are not used to, and it put a bit of a damper on our stay, having to lock everything away on an evening. Great for families/kids, and Clumber Park is lovely and on the door step, but we prefer smaller, quiet sites. It would have been better if they had had an adults only area.

Great location, fantastic approach, really helpful wardens,

A great site for families, lovely big well spaced pitches. Please be aware and read the notices about the seasonal dog illness which has be reported here, VERY VERY Important if you are taking your dog, yes I did read them but it was only after talking to another dog owner I realised just how ill your dog could become after going into the woods here.

First time here but wont be the last.

We stayed 5 nights from 10th July and it was packed at the weekend. The wardens were very friendly and done their very best but the bins were bang full most of the time with it being so busy. We never used the car for the 5 days apart from one trip to supermarket and spent the rest of the time walking around Clumber Park. The only adverse comment I would make is that toilets and showers are a bit dated but still kept spotless by the hard working staff.

Great site!

Great site very easy to get too from worksop or off the A1 was very busy last weekend and most weekends seem to be booked up. Can be noisy with children playing even tho there is a park for them to play on. Probably not ideal if your looking for total peace and quiet but I'd imagine would be quieter throughout the week and not in school holidays. Facilities good and clean and plenty of hardstanding and grass pitches to choose from. Would definitely return as it's only down the road from us and ideallic!

Not for us..

Having been members for many years we tend to avoid club sites, preferring the CL network. However we dropped onto Clumber Park for a one night stand on the way back down south. Safe to say we will not be returning any time soon for all the reasons given by other members. However it was packed at the the time we were there, so maybe our expectations of a club site are different to others.

Kids, Kids and more kids everywhere

This is a children's site so if you want peace and quiet this is not the site. It is a very open site with multiple public access to it, We caught a prowler around our caravan on Saturday 22nd at around 11pm. So if you do go with children then do not let them out of your site, I thought it was too easy for them to just wonder off into the woods (we do not have children, but was easy to see how one could be lost or taken very easily). Unfortunately it is not a site for us to much noise.

Nice Park but busy

The park is situated in a beautiful area but there is not a great deal to do close by. No internet or phone service so if you have teenagers you may wish to rethink your stay. Lots of children and dogs, so if you do not like either bear that in mind. Showers, etc., ok and fit for purpose. We had a lot of noise which was off site at the hall (wedding???) this went on till midnight which was intrusive. My biggest gripe is visitors to the caravans. I have a picture to the entrance of Sunday to show the extent of the extra people on the site if the club wishes to view it. This raises lots of questions - for instance security on the site for possessions and children. The guest car park which holds around 30 cars at a guess was full and then the remainder parked near the entrance gate. My biggest concern would be fire engines etc would not be able to gain access to the site. I think this something the club need to address.
