The main problem is the long access road which is a single track, pot holed mess. Made worse by the locals/cricket club supporters who need to pass along this route, and obviously hate caravans. My wife and I were verbally abused when trying to leave the site with the van with many 4 x 4 s coming the other way. Also, the road markings on this twisting site are incomprehensible. Most people don't know which way to exit !
Wonderful warm welcome from a lady warden on arrival.
Although quite a large site, the pitches are arranged in small paddocks and so they feel quite quiet and private and not overlooked.
The shower block was always spotlessly clean. The site itself was well maintained, the grass neatly cut.
It is a very pleasant 20 minute walk into town, through a field and parkland. There is also a bus stop located at the site entrance.
The town of Cirencester is very picturesque and there are plenty of open areas to explore.
Also plenty of eateries and pubs.We did find these to be rather expensive compared with prices back home though.
The site is beautifully kept, a real tribute to the staff who are friendly and welcoming. We find the site peaceful (other than weekends obviously) so can really relax.
Good location for looking around.
Really lovely site, close to Cirencester (perhaps 20 mins walk, I,m not the quickest )
Very friendly and polite staff, had a serviced pitch in a nice sunny position and would go back to this site gladly.
One thing that isn't good is the badly potholed road leading to the entrance
Other than the badly potholed entry road, there’s nothing I could fault about this site. The wardens are very friendly and extremely helpful, the toilet block is immaculately kept and the grounds are really well tended. The location for Cirencester town is ideal, there’s a great walk into town through the Bathurst Estate, which is also a fantastic place with almost limitless places to walk the dog.
We enjoyed our first visit so much several weeks ago that we’ve booked to return in the next few weeks 👍🏻💯.
Can't fault the site except access road full of potholes could be tricky both for vehicles and pedestrians , bikes returning in darkness. Some of the pitches have overhanging trees which personally we avoid. But lovely park like feel about the site. Wardens friendly.
Worth noting there is no cycling through the bathhurst park in fact you are not allowed even to take your bike through just walking with it. I contacted the estate to clarify this and they confirmed no bicycles to be taken in. Such a shame although there is a cycle path into the town near the ring road.
We will return.
We have stopped at Cirencester Park 3 times this year.
Each time we have been greeted by happy cheerful wardens whom keep the site ( which is vast) looking lovely. The flowers at the entrance are splendid. The Vegan ice creams are great too- dairy free wonderful for my husband.
The site is located near to Waitrose ( walking distance) and Tesco Extra is a short ride away ( parking for large Motorhomes).
Access to the town is through Bathurst Park. A 15 minute walk.
There is a dog exercising area and a children’s play area near the grass pitches.
We ate out at Thames Head Pub ( just outside Cirencester on the Tetbury Road. ) great food but you may need to book at busy times.
We missed the Country Fair but saw the set up and it looked worth visiting.
We will be returning later in the year and hope to explore the area and visit Westonbirt Arboretum .
As a new member and only our three outing in our caravan this was a pleasant slight to stay on. Very clean and tidy and a lovely walk into Cirencester.
Study the park layout before you pick a pitch. We picked a grass pitch as we wanted to try out the awning. Unfortunately the one we picked was in front of the area where dogs were allowed to run free in a allocated field. The barking was really annoying.Dispatched
The pitch was also near the play area and children were screaming late into the evening.
If you want a quiter stay pitch your caravan on the hard standing area
Third visit to this site and standards remain high. Friendly greeting and helpful reception staff. Facilities were of very high standards, very clean. Wardens work very hard to maintain the site. Site was fully booked but did not feel cramped, plenty of space between pitches. Very peaceful and enjoyed a wonderful walk through the park and Abbey grounds.Great dog walking field. Love this site and will return again shortly. A big thank you to all the wardens.
This is a large site accessed through a pot hole ridden lane, and only 15 minute walk into Cirencester. Great Dog Walking only 5 minutes from the site on the Estate. There is a Healthy Food Stall for Hot food one night per week and a Fish & Chip van also visits one night per week.
Facilities were very clean and modern. The main drawback with this site is that it is virtually impossible to get a pitch that is not close to trees, for this reason we would not return.
