First time visit, found easy off the M53. Check in was easy and staff helpful. The facilities were immaculate. The only query was why close at 1015 to 1230 to clean when most people go away to relax and 1015 could be a little early for some, we were ok tho.
Great access to Cheshire Oaks outlet shopping a 15 minute walk. 29 minute walk to cinema. Rake Hall restaurant 250yds down the lane was superb but strongly advise booking a table well in advance as it is very popular.
Avoid Harvester across the main road the locals advised us that the food and service was not good.
We got a taxi (£6.50) to Chester Zoo and had a fantastic day then got the bus back to Cheshire Oaks.
Overall a fantastic stay one of the best facilities and staff
Winter stay
This site is ideally place easy to find and near to a lot of amenities, there is a great pub just down the road from the site for drinks and food. Cheshire Oaks is within walking distance. The only issue I found is when the toilet block is cleaned they close the whole block from 10.15am till 12pm which I think is a bit to early be better if they were closed a bit later so you don’t have to rush in the morning to get in for a shower before 10.15am.
Fabulous site
Just got home after a long weekend, from this immaculate, very well positioned, well maintained site. The staff were lovely and chatty. The facilities were very clean with lovely hot showers. The site has a feel of the counrtyside, yet only metres away is an outstanding Pub/Restaurant Rake Hall, that is dog friendly, the food here is very nice indeed. A few more metres down the road you are spoilt for choice with yet more pubs, restaurants, shops of every description. (Cheshire Oaks). We had a fantastic break and would highly recommend this site anytime of the year.
Great site
Second time we’ve stayed here. Great site and well looked after. Brilliant location for Cheshire Oaks, Blue Planet as they’re within walking distance. Great pub Rake Hall 100 metres away (though they did turn us away when we dropped in for a drink in their garden as they said they ‘didn’t accept walk ins!’) The site itself appeared very dark at night with few bollards being lit. Road noise there but not intrusive. Biggest issue is the lack of footpath or lighting on the walk to Cheshire Oaks. Cars speed along the road which you walk on and is narrow. We didn’t feel it was safe and is an injury waiting to happen but this is not the fault of the site or club. Maybe an approach to the local council could help? All in all a great club site literally 5 minutes off the motorway so easily accessible. Great staff and the usual clean facilities.
Peaceful
I was not overly keen on the check-in experience. There was a large Perspex screen over the doorway with a desk the other side for the staff to check you in. I have stayed on lots of sites this year and this is the only one where you have not been able to access the office. That was the only negative about this site. The lady who checked me in was very friendly and informative, facilities as per club usual, gleaming and the site was well maintained. One HUGE positive for me was the absence of dogs barking,I would return for that experience alone.

Difficult times but managed well by the wardens, the site is immaculate and just a 10 min walk to the shops. Please note that Rake Lane has no street lights and has no pavements. The dog walk is fenced and secure although not big is sufficient. The road noise always apparent but this is the penalty for being so accessible. The local pub on Rake Lane was shut and looked as if it was being refurbished
Well positioned being near to Chester, Liverpool & The Wirral.
Excellent Stay
I’d just like to say how welcoming the assistant warden Lovely Pauline was , her Customer Service was so professional and nothing was too much trouble, both herself and husband are a an absolute credit to The Caravan Club . Thanks to these guys we had a lovely relaxing stay , the site facilities were kept impeccably, look forward to returning very soon …
Two night stay en route to an Owners Club Rally.
The site is everything you come to expect of a CAMC club site. Good maintenance standards throughout, and now thankfully much relaxed Covid precautions. The only blot on the sites copybook is the almost continuous traffic noise. Not a very relaxing site.
Rude receptionist!
Fortunately we had only booked one night here, as a stop over, before heading to Pandy (what a contrast in customer service between the two sites). We had arrived early (our mistake), but did not expect to be spoken to like naughty children. I was told in no uncertain terms that we were early and the toilets had not been cleaned. The lady relented and let us in, but it left a bad taste in our mouth. The showers/toilets were exceptionally clean and tidy 5/5 for that! We walked to a local huge Sainsbury’s which stocked everything. We would not stay again, due the receptionist/warden, but it is in a good position close to a motorway for a stopover.
Another successfull visit
This was our first time back after lockdown and got the usual warm friendly greeting although from a table at the office door. The site was just as we remembered it, clean well run and all that we expect from a club site. The site itself is flat and not regimented, in a rural location but close to the huge outlet centre, shops the Blue Lagoon aquarium and Sainsburys for food and fuel. Busses to most places run from the outlet centre and the Park and Ride is near at Chester Zoo. There are several food outlets and pubs around the Outlet Centre.
One of our favourite sites although the outlet centre should carry a wealth warning.
