Noisy Site

Chester Oaks is a typical Caravan Club site in that it is well laid out and maintained. The facilities are very good and kept very clean by the Wardens. The site is easy to find and is close to the attractions of Chester:- the town itself, the shops, and the Zoo to name but three. The main problem at this site is the constant drone of the M53. The 'warning' given by the club's description "some road noise may be experienced" is misleading. During our stay, the noise was constant - even at night. I also echo the request made by other reviewers for free WiFi.

Very Good Site

My wife and I have used this site previously and our latest stay was from 7 - 13.10.16. The facilities on the site are excellent, particularly the shower block which was spotless and very well maintained. The site itself is very easy to access from the main motorway network and having travelled down from Scotland it was simple too find. My only slight issue is the background traffic noise which can be heard from the site 24/7 but after our first night we got used to it and it certainly did not keep us awake!! The site is well situated for access to Chester - the park & ride from Chester Zoo into Chester city centre is a short drive from the site and very cheap. The Cheshire Oaks shopping centre is within walking distance so if your into shopping this is an ideal base!! We travelled to Manchester & Shrewsbury during our stay to visit relatives and North Wales is easily accessed from Fairoaks. Finally, if your stay includes a Monday night you simply have to have fish & chips from the mobile fish & chip van for your tea - it's the best we have tasted by far!!!

Good Site and Good Location

Great clean site, helpful staff and a great location. Five minute walk to a Hungry Horse Pub/Restaurant and another 5 minutes to a Harvester. Toilet Block is modern and clean. Cheshire Oaks which is a massive retail park is about a 15 minute walk away with every shop you can think of. Chester Zoo is close by and must be the best and largest zoo in the country. Chester is a lovely town and well worth seeing. If I had to complain about anything it would be the trees dropping seeds everywhere and our motorhome was covered in them. We love trees as much as the next but they are a nuisance at this time of the year. I ask again for free wifi as I refuse to pay for it.

Great site , friendly wardens but did find some of the guests not so friendly, some would not even say hi . This site does need more paths though to the shop and toilets . a lot just walk though your pitch like you are not there ( I hate that) Zoo is a great all day out. Did find the road noise a bit irritating .

Ideal Location

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in October 2016, the site is easy to find, check in was very friendly, the site is kept clean and tidy and the facilities are to a high standard. This site is ideal for those who would like to shop at the local Designer Outlet, visit Chester or go to the Zoo. We will be returning with our boys in the near future.

The Mersey beat

Great location. Checking in at peak time dodgy (Units backed up on to the Highway). Wardens very efficient, site up to the clubs normal high standard. Eating out: Walk the 15mins to the "Chester Fair Oaks Outlet Centre", more choice of food outlets. The local pub is ok, but when we were there (Aug 2016) food was not that good, hundreds of flies. If you decide to walk, take a torch, and watch out for the road sign just outside the site entrance. It is at head height and will give you a nasty knock. Excellent bus service, to Liverpool and Chester.

What a super site!

We haven't been on a club site for over 25 years as we have returned to caravanning as a back up to sailing our yacht. We found the facilities were superb and a massive improvement on days gone by. This is a really well run site and whilst the wardens are there if you need them, we found absolutely no reason to bother them. We had printed off the site plan before our visit and found this a great boon as to were the area guidelines on offer. The site facilities were well signed and everything was working and as clean as could be... Well done and thankyou everybody!
