The wardens are brilliant!

We had a small technical problem which (I hope!) seemed to resolve itself. The wardens were very supportive, so thankyou, folks.

A lovely break with old friends (almost) spoilt by inconsiderate dog owners

Lovely site with excellent facilities and enhanced by good weather, lovely wardens and really good fish and chips on site. Contrary to a previous review, we saw our fish being battered and cooked and our chips being cooked, all fresh. We didn't make it into Chester this time but enjoyed some retail therapy at Cheshire Oaks, a lovely trip into Wales and a visit to Port Sunlight and Parkgate. You can hear the drone of the traffic on the nearby motorway and road but it's not intrusive. Our only bugbear was some of the dog owners, one left their 3 dogs in their van with the TV and the light on and they barked most of the 5 hours they were left this way! Another allowed their dog to foul the grass near the shower block, off the lead and in the dark. Surely it's time to charge for dogs and to limit the number of dogs per pitch?? We understand that the wardens did speak to the owners who left their dogs and they left soon afterwards.

Great location. Lovely site.

Lovely site. Just had seven nights there. Spacious pitches. Staff constantly clearing leaves to try to keep the site tidy - not easy! Showers a bit cold at times. Constant drone from motorways and nearby airfield but nothing that earplugs couldn’t sort out. Pub next door - The Rake - cheap and cheerful, always busy, remember to show your CC card to get 20% discount on food, practically giving it away. Visited Chester, always lovely. Go down to the river and walk the promenade round the racecourse. Northwich , very nice, Anderton boatlift amazing to see but no boat trips in November, site only open at weekends. Went back to Crosby to see Anthony Gormleys “Another Place”, always brilliant to see, check the tide times so you catch it when the tide is either going out or coming in to see it at its best. Great food van in the car park. Very welcome tasty homemade soup and bacon barm - just the job after a cold walk on the promenade. The Cheshire oaks outlet is walkable from the site if you want shopping. Fish and chip van twice a week, decidedly underwhelming, tasteless fish, and chips not much better. Seemed like it was all frozen. A good week, we will be back.

Great Site

We stayed for 10 days. Friendly welcome from wardens lots of information leaflets given to us on arrival regarding buses etc. Site facilities normal standard. One issue was water pressure very poor and temperature of water in washing up area only luke warm. Site within walking distance to Cheshire oaks shopping centre. Chester a great place to visit park and ride £2 per person we felt great value. Within easy reach of Liverpool. Tatton Park within driving distance £7 to park but great place for walking and to see deer. Port sunlight well worth a visit. Plenty eating places around Cheshire oaks Rake pub 5 mins from site food ok. Would definitely return to this site

Halloween and half-term visits...

Staying for six nights in our tourer. Our seventh or eighth visit to this site over as many years, an efficient and speedy booking in at reception and we were advised of available pitches as site was very busy. Office was decorated for the upcoming ‘Halloween’ very impressive. Site facilities were as always kept upto the highest of standards considering the numbers of visitors on site. A ‘spooky experience’ was organised for the younger campers which seemed to go down well! A decorated unit competition and the impressive costumes and make up worn by the young visitors ‘trick or treating’ was excellent. The good weather played a part in making another visit to the extended family enjoyable. A good visit to a well run site.

Return Visit

Our second time at this site. Nice welcome by the site staff on arrival. Since our last visit the toilet block has been refurbished to an excellent standard. Also good to see a new style open grill motorhome waste point has also been installed. If you want to leave your motorhome on site there is access to bus services at the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Shopping Centre which is about a mile walk from the site. Be aware that from the site to the main road there is no footpath. There are frequent services to the new Chester Bus Interchange as well as other local destinations. Plenty of places to eat out near to the site. The Rake Inn almost next to the site is good value.

Spooky Halloween

We had a lovely stay at Chester Fairoaks site. Its such a convenient site for excellent motorway connections , close to Chester & Cheshire oaks. Many great places to visit are nearby. We returned again for Halloween & the wardens excelled themselves. They made a lovely event for families by decorating the office & put on a great Halloween tour & performance. Wonderful memories for us all. The club needs inspired wardens like this to maintain your excellent reputation. Thankyou so much.

Ideal location

The site is well kept as the warden team work well together keeping it nice for all visitors just a pity some people and dog owners abuse this. Ideal location for motorway network, easy trip into Chester and of course the Designer Outlet on the doorstep with lots of places to eat.

Regular haunt

We have visited this site most years for some time and never had a complaint. The wardens are efficient helpful and friendly. The site is typical of the clubs in layout and facilities. it is flat with plenty of good hard standings and decent spacing. There is a little road noise but nothing to bother us. With Chester and a massive outlet centre on the doorstop and good access to the motorway for touring this is as good as it gets.
