very well maintained campsite

English: We spent two nights on this campsite. We were welcomed very friendly. Since we have toilet and shower on board, we did not need to take these things from the campsite. But we took a look at the local conditions. I have to say that I have never seen such a clean toilet facility before. Also the entire place was very thoroughly maintained. Our visit to Chester (very well-kept town) and its surroundings inspired us to go there for a longer time in autumn. Birgit & Detlef Loeffelholz, Germany

inconsiderate campers

me and the wife have just spent 11 nights at this superb site and the wardens were as usual just great nothing too much trouble my only gripe is the amount of inconsiderate campers cutting across other peoples pitches these days we saw people with crutches walking on the roads and footpaths going to the toilets or where ever and able bodied people not giving a damm and walking over anybodies pitches come on people keep off other peoples pitches and get fit and walk the extra yards and show some consideration to peoples privacy thanks

Good location

Visited this lovely site for one night last October, but we have only recently started writing reviews since joining the club nearly a year ago! We had a lovely time, our first club site since joining. The wardens were very helpful . Everywhere was clean and tidy and all the pitches were good. We stayed one night, but definitely need to come back ! Need to stay for more than one night as its location is ideal! Walking distance of Cheshire Oaks, 20 mins or so to Chester, Wirral country park 1/2 hr drive.

Good as ever

We use the site regularly and have no complaints. We were greeted by name, as the number plate can be read from the office and they typed in this to confirm who we were. Makes for a nice start. The site is flat pleasantly laid out and in very good condition with excellent wardens. We had no children with us but know there is a decent play area for them. Good for the shopping outlet centre and the city and touring in general. There is some road noise but not enough to bother us. A great site but it can be busy so book early.

What a lovely welcome

Our first visit to this site, wonderful welcome from the lady in reception, we had booked a non awning pitch but she gave us a choice of several available pitches, what a lovely start to our stay. Despite being just a short drive from the motorway there is very little road noise, the site is very well laid out and immaculate the facilities are spotless. Will definitely visit again.

Good location for local attractions, exceptionally well kept by friendly staff, but too crowded and too close to motorway noise and busy retail park.

Helpful, friendly hard working staff keep site immaculate. Wheelchair accessible facilities up to usual, consistently good standard found at all Club sites we've used. This is the first time site staff have let us know we can book specific disabled pitches in advance, which is a great tip we will make use of in future. Wish we'd known about it for the last three years we've been members! Well placed as a base to explore Chester, the Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium, Waterways museum etc. But, big downsides for us were the proximity to motorway noise, the small, overcrowded feel of the site, which was full and really felt it, and the volume of litter dumped by users of local fast food outlets on all the approach routes to the site, which made dog walking a trial. We're therefore not likely to be back, despite how nice the staff were.

For One Night Only

Pleasant welcome to this very easily accessible and well kept site. Toilet facilities very good and very clean, no complaints at all. Good dog exercise area. Right next door to a pub at which there is a discount for CAMC members, other food outlets and retail options nearby.

So much to do here

Another lovely visit to this site, Wardens friendly and helpful, shower blocks warm and spotless,(would not expect any less from a club site). We were visiting family in Wales but stayed here as it was better than the non club site nearer in Wales. So much to do here we will have to come back, easy walking to retail park, lots of restaurants etc. Enjoyed the cycle into Chester along the towpath, easy bus into Liverpool. Great for motor homers no need to move it once on site, (especially with a bus pass!) plan to come back to do the Ferry over the Mersey.

Lovely Site!

This was our first trip in our new Motorhome and for a wet and windy March weekend we picked the right site. There were three pubs within walking distance (one only a few yards away) and two more further down the lane. The lane does have street lights so I don't understand the comments about it being dark? We ate is all three and the food was lovely (The Rake has a TV so we were able to watch the Rugby, the Old Hall is a carvery and there is a Harvester). There are also many other places to eat on the way to Cheshire Oaks and in the centre if you prefer that sort of thing (McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Express). The shops at Cheshire Oaks were only a 15 minute walk away (turn right at the end of the lane and left at the lights). There is also a large Sainsbury's for supplies. We found the staff on site very helpful and welcoming and the site is clean and pleasant. We didn't notice any noise from aeroplanes or motorways? We will definitely return for another visit.

Handy Winter Stay

Stayed here many times over the years. We we there during storm Gareth it’s was a bit wild at times! The site is handy for Chester just a short drive away. Cheshire Oaks is ten minute walk away and the Boat Museum is also a short drive. The site is very close to the motorway so handy for arrivals and departures but the noise is constant. Clean facilities and although some pitches are in need of attention, as they flood, the site was quiet we had plenty of dry ones to choose from. Great welcome from friendly wardens .
