We have just had 2 weeks here at Chester Fairoaks and we have had a great time but I would just like to say the wardens deserve a big pay rise the amount of work they did checking people in and cleaning all the facilities at all times of the day plus general duties they were great the only problem I saw was the usual ? people walking through other peoples pitches it,s bad enough in normal times but at present it just stupidity .Keep safe everybody
This was our first time out after the Coronavirus pandemic. Following lockdown, the site had been reopened just three days earlier. We were concerned about using the showers and toilets however on our arrival we were given information about the strict cleaning regime and about how the use of the facilities was regulated.
All we can say is very well done to the caravan club and to the wardens. The facilities, and in fact all of the site, was absolutely spotless. Thank you!
If you want easy access to Cheshire Oaks shopping great, other than that dont bother. The canal walk is a good 45 min minimum walk away along a busy road with no footpath, not safe for dogs & definitely not next to the site. Both nearby pubs mentioned are closed. Nearest pub is the Harvester & is what it is. Dog walk on site is nothing special either. On the plus side staff are lovely and very friendly. Facilities what you'd expect.
The first thing to note is that access is straightforward from a minor road. The pitches are spacious and generally seemed level with at least two service points. The facilities are modern, pleasantly warm and kept clean. All the wardens I spoke with were very pleasant , helpful and happy to chat. Considering the amount of rain that we've had they did an excellent job of maintaining the site. The site is well located for Chester, Liverpool and even Manchester. An excellent bus service is available just 10 minutes from the site and Sainbury's, Asda and Aldi are all less than two miles away. I had a great time here and achieved far more than I expected given the awful weather. I would happily return here, hopefully when the sun has decided to shine.
All in all we had an enjoyable stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pitches are sizeable with no hint of being overlooked by ones neighbours. Shower block is modern and very clean. Noise from the nearby motorways cannot be ignored when you are out in the open, but when you are indoors it fades away. We were unlucky in that the nearest pub, 'The Rake', was closed for refurbishment. For the record it re-opens in September this year. If you like shopping then you will like the nearby retail parks. They are massive! There is walking to be had along the canal, but there is a bit of a slog along roads with no pavements to get there. Not a classic stay but nothing really to complain about either.
First thing I can say is this is a great winter site and I can’t see any amount of rain stopping you from pulling off your very large (car, caravan and large awning wide) pitch. There are good level tarmac roads accessing all the pitches. There is a very modern very large toilet block with ample showers with lovely hot water, lots of toilet cubicles, wash cubicles and hair dryers etc. All kept immaculate and clean with piped radio playing in background. All at a temperature you can quite easily cope with in the middle of the coldest night. There are a number of service points that include fresh water, waste water emptying points, dustbins and Elsan points (the cleanest and most pleasant to use I have ever come across). There is a small dog pound for doggy business and it is fully secure so you can let your pet off the lead. I was concerned that we would be troubled by motorway noise however I have not noticed any unless I actually deliberately listen for it whilst outside. Now the staff, on arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who booked us in, gave us the freedom to choose whatever vacant pitch we wanted and a fob to raise the barrier whenever we came back on site. All in all the staff were very helpful and had very nice personalities and although not needed we felt any problem they would go out of their way to sort it for us with a smile. Locally within ten minutes walk is a large M&S, KFC, Large Sainsbury’s and many more fast food outlets. I can fully recommend this site and give it the highest marks I can give up there with the best we have used.

Just had a pleasant Monday to Friday break at Cheshire Fairoaks. Immaculate facilities, not unlike the other Club Sites we've visited. The proximity of the motorway and a bit of traffic noise wasn't a problem (not dissimilar to the crashing of waves on a beach). Play area for kids and dog walk area for dogs. Ideal for Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and other attractions - cinema, eateries and aquarium. Buses run every ten minutes to Chester and Liverpool, £4.40 adult day ticket good value. Chester Zoo well worth a visit. Chester interesting place. The nearest pub (The Rake) closed at the moment, not to worry with the Old Hall Farm Public House doing two meals for £11 and the Harvester also close. KFC and Costa Coffee also on route to Cheshire Oaks as well as a Sainsburys supermarket. Lack of a pavement on road from site wasn't a problem with care (used torches at night). Ideal if you want a site with a variety of attractions close by.
This site is very convenient for the shopping outlet but because it is near the motorway there is a lot of traffic noise, so take ear plugs. The shower block lovely and clean . Some of the pitches flood badly but because we arrived whilst there was wet weather we could see the problem pitches. Some of the worst pitches were marked with cones so were out of action. The flooding problem has been going on for years so you would have thought the problem would have been sorted by now. Lovely Marston pub that does a carvery Monday to Saturday £11 for two people.
Lovely coffee shop at the Designer Outlet. Prefer to go in winter not a summer break for us as we prefer a quieter site.
On arrival we received a friendly welcome from the wardens and there were plenty of available pitches to choose from and the site and toilet block were spotless and tidy. There is a continuous hum from both the M56 and M53 traffic and there’s low flying aircraft noise well into the night. The toilet block although immaculate, was quite cold and involved a brisk shower to stay warm. The main attraction for the site seems to be the retail park, 15 minutes walk away, however, the 300m stretch of road from the club site to the junction is a nightmare especially as there is no footpath and cars seem to want to race along this narrow section of road day and night as its a direct route to Chester.
We think this site is more of a stopover site than a place for a relaxing break and it is expensive for what the site offers, especially in January, the site could benefit everyone by having a mid-week discount rate to make the site more attractive and better value for money.
Been to this site now 4 times over the last 10 years had 4nights on this trip late November.
Very noisy due to the M53 motorway nearby but didn't bother us to much you do get used to it after a while.
Great location for shopping at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.
Chester is a lovely city and about 5 miles from site, park near to racecourse £5 all day expensive parking in the city otherwise.
The wardens are so friendly and helpful,
Site was very wet when we were there but the wardens did their best to keep it clean and tidy.
Toilets an showers were as always spotless.
