We stayed 3 nights on our way back from North Wales so we could visit Chester. Good location also for Cheshire Oaks where you can walk to, albeit across a very busy and fast road. The site is very clean, good size pitches, lovely shower/bathrooms and a fabulous fish and chip van on a Friday night. Best chips we’ve had in ages!
This site is located just off the junction of the M56 and the M53, making it ideal for anyone needing a stopover heading into or even out of Wales. It is walking distance to Cheshire Oaks Shopping Centre and an easy drive into Liverpool City Centre.
The facilities on site are absolutely outstanding, modern, clean, and very well maintained. The wardens were very helpful from the moment we arrived and you could see them being pro-active in the post lockdown cleaning regime.
I have read other reviews talking about traffic ‘noise’. In reality the ‘noise’ is nothing more than general background sound being carried on the wind of vehicles Using the motorway which is nowhere near the site boundaries.
This is a good site with large pitches which are flat. The facilities are excellent and well maintained and the wardens are kept even busier with the covid regulations. Even so Jenny and her husband Peter went out of their way to be pleasant and sociable whilst maintaining social distancing.
There are excellent cycle routes to Chester, Ellesmere Port, Birkenhead and the Wirral and a good bus service to the major cities.
The mobile fish and chips van were good value and tasty.
This was my second visit this year and I stayed here for 16 nights. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would have no hesitation in returning in the future
Stayed for a week,
The site was well prepared for the new normal, Covid procedures explained really well during the checking.
The site is very clean and tidy, wardens continuously working To maintain a very high standard.
Will we come again, you bet.
Only stayed 2 nights this trip but really like this site. Excellent Covid organisation, information, markings and cleaning routines. Wardens very clear re pitching and not spreading onto clearance areas, but also very polite and friendly.
I had read the reviews before we arrived and notice a lot of people had mentioned road noise.well all I can say is what a load of rubbish I didn’t hear a thing so take no notice of those comments!!
We went here with our grandson and even though the children’s park was closed he made friends and loved saying hello to all the dogs that passed.
We found the site busy but it was very well spaced out we was on pitch 51.
The site was very clean and tidy and the toilets and shower blocks are spotless and cleaned and regular intervals and then closed for 2 hours each day for a deep clean between 10-12 but a toilet around the other side was open if needed.
The staff were lovely and friendly and was really helpful.
It’s a short 5 minute walk along the road to the designer outlet And The Blue Planet. And a ten minute drive to Chester zoo.
Had a lovely weekend and we will be definitely returning.
The main plus point the wardens are so switched on, excellent on arrival at site, huge well done. From then on downhill and no fault of the wardens. The traffic noise is obtrusive to say the least. Biggest minus points, the relative closeness of all the pitches it just seems you are on top of the next pitch, my awning was within a metre of the car parked on the next pitch. Yes centres maybe six metres but in these times too close. Perhaps spoilt as we stopped at Englethwaite Hall on way south, pitch spacing so much better. Come on club, space out before we have a local infection source and we lockdown again. Maximising profit by the spacing is the club priority not our safety in these troubling times.
This site is near a very noisy motorway. The entrance to the site is too narrow so you have to wait behind vehicles checking in.
Fine for a one night stay over but would avoid for a holiday.
On the positive side, the staff are very friendly.
