Superb location

We were made most welcome by the wardens who advised us on the best pitch for our motorhome. The site is in a superb location and is maintained to a very high standard by the wardens. Pristine facilities and excellent information with the proximity to the town centre made this a great place to stay

A Day At The Races

We spent a day and a night at Cheltenham on our return from Liverpool.  We have stayed several times and the convenience of the location and the atmosphere of the site, based on the location is very attractive.  The facilities were spotless and the ambience delightful. The wardens were welcoming, helpful, but respective of everyone's privacy.  We had a hard standing pitch without awning and with the help of our levelling ramps had a lovely view over the racecourse. I would encourage anyone to spend a few days here, it is an excellent site.

Cheltenham winner

Spent 2 nights at this site and with the midweek discount it was cheaper than a CL. Lovely outlook over the racecourse and good facilities for motorhomes. Very close to a park and ride so easy access to Cheltenham centre. The site itself is like being on a car park and it is quite sloping but the positives outweigh the negatives and I would recommend staying here if you wish to visit Cheltenham.

Great Site for visiting Cheltenham

We have just spent 5 nights at the site. Yes, it's not your typical site in the countryside, but you know that it's a racecourse so what else would you expect. We wanted to visit Cheltenham and visit the Ukulele Festival in the town centre. The site couldn't have been better located. It was quiet at night being located on the outskirts of the town, yet only a ten minute ride to the centre from the nearby park and ride bus stop. The buses are very frequent and the last bus from the town centre left just before 11:00pm. We had great views of the racecourse and surrounding countryside. There are some grass pitches but most are hardstandings. When the heavy rain came we were very glad to be on the well drained tarmacadam pitches. The facilities, which are presumably leased from racecourse owners, are a little dated but spotlessly clean. Finally, the site wardens were a delightful couple, on a busy week when the electrics failed in the gents toilet block (which required rewiring), they coped really well. They were most helpful.

Great site

We stayed at this site for one night wish we could have stayed longer. The wardens were great explaining to us where and how to site our motorhome.  Leveling was not a problem, and the views we excellent. The park and ride very convenient to get into Cheltenham  All in all an excellent site

A good stop over site

We stayed two nights on our way down to Somerset. My first impression was that there is no security at this site. There is no barrier to let you in and out therefore any crook has access to this site leaving you feeling a little vulnerable. You are situated right in the thrones of the race course and we were placed opposite the stands. The site is very clean but is all laid out on tarmac ground quite strange. It is a long walk into Cheltenham from the site but there is a park and ride on the verge of the caravan site but doesn't seem to run very frequently. The showers and facilities are very clean. Overall I would only want to stay a maximum of two nights on this site as it doesn't feel like a holiday site.

Convenient stop-off

We found this site to be ideally located for a break when travelling from Nottinghamshire to the West Country. It is easy to find from the M5 and our pitch against the rails of the race-course, looking across to Cleeve Hill and the Cotswold escarpment was ideal for a two-day relaxing break. Not sure that we would want to holiday there though - you are always aware that you are on the race-course.

Great Location

stayed here for 5 nights. you do need levelling blocks. facilities excellent nice and clean. 4 showers in mens never had to queue. Son had use of disabled washroom which was excellent. located on racecourse with lovely views and walks from site. Pitville pump room is 5 min walk away then drop down through great park for kids into city centre ( 15/20mins). park and ride is next to site buses every 10/15 mins into cheltenham.  regarding wardens, found them to be great. Main problem i saw was members trying to find level bits to park up, you are given a paper with instructions on explaining how and where you should pitch, but members were pitching up on two pitches, across pitches and not even on a pitch. There is a reason for the system, safety ! I saw the warden on numerous occasions explaining to members they had to move because of where they had pitched up. Read the instructions !

Disappointed with staff

I love this site, I found the staff to have attitude, everything they said was right but it was the way it was said, I asked fellow campers if they had found this an issue and everyone had a story to tell, very disappointing. Please be a bit more friendlier.
