Busy! Busy! Busy!

We have used this site before but on this occasion we were surprised at how busy it was. We arrived early afternoon, mid week and had a choice of just three pitches. I must confess it did feel like the club had maximised the available space and a tin of sardines did spring to mind. Nevertheless, the wardens are great and I take my hat off to them - the site is always immaculate, the facilties are clean and they are always friendly. How they get everything done when the site is so busy is beyond me especially when some members insist on arriving well before the 1pm arrival time. Site is in a great location - plenty of walking either straight into Cheddar or beyond to the reservoir, along the Strawberry Line or up the gorge and onto the Mendips. No dog walk on site - it's a trip down the adjacent lane along with everyone else!!

Well located site

Our 2nd visit to this site and certainly not our last. Excellently located - easy walk into Cheddar village. Great cycling on The Strawberry Trail (disused railway line) and also round the Reservoir. Bus to Wells for good day out - especially on Market Day. Cheddar village very busy with traffic but site is tucked away and peaceful.

Review of visit on `0/06/18

Second visit to this site, both times site clean and well kept. The wardens are very friendly and a joy to meet. Yes the toilet is a little dated but as it is clean and well kept does it matter. As for the Church clock and bells this is real England and as such is correct.Little or no noise from football site and as it is their village and we as caravans are only visitors can we really complain. Will return to this again as one of the best we have used.

Great site & very friendly

I don't usually review the sites but must say that the wardens on site Jo & Malcolm are very helpful and friendly, the site is very clean and well looked after. The toilet block needs updating as cublicles are quiet small. Only other thing which is no fault of the wardens is when cleaning the toilet blocks the only toilet for people to use is the disabled which is ok until someone thinks this is great I'll have a shower and wash my hair and dry it, then you have to wait ages which it isn't ideal. Caravan club is their someway you can put a toilet for abled bodied people to use when cleaning is in progress its not fair for the disabled having to wait, if they are unable to do so. The football club did have a presentation evening but it wasn't over powering and the music stopped dead on midnight. Overall a very relaxing break and much needed, looking forward to booking again. Thank you Jo & Malcolm.

Don't think we will be back

Stopped off here on our way back north. All pitches close together in lines which is not our preferred sort of site. Keys needed to get in toilet block which was tricky when you have a broken thumb! Showers compact but clean. Easy access onto path for dog walking but village less ideal as pavements narrow or non existent and traffic very busy. Not much in the village either apart from a couple of small supermarkets. We didn't get as far as the gorge which may make up for it. Football club next door very noisy as there was a match on which didn't make for a pleasant summer evening sitting outside. Then bell ringing practice started!

Good For Touring

Great site for touring Somerset plenty of cider farms in the area where you can get some great ciders, Site well maintained, Staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside was seeing dog owners not taking them off site to clean themselves. Although they were picking the mess up they were not sterilizing the area, this leaves germs behind and if come in contact with could cause serious illness. I do not blame the staff they cannot keep an eye on all dog owners it is the dog owners responsibility to take the dog off site to let them clean themselves.

First stay at this site

A warm welcome from Malcolm & Jo and easily found a pitch for our Motorhome. The site is very well positioned for visiting Cheddar and catching the bus to Weston- Super - Mare and Wells. The site is very well maintained and the facilities are immaculate although the shower cubicles are on the small side.

Cheddar cheese

Lovely site. Shower cubicles are on the small size. Toilet block could do with an update. It was great to be able to walk into Cheddar and the gorge. Used the Riverside Inn a lot. Good prices and fresh food. We had Sunday roast here. Next to the football club. No problem at all and a match was played. The signage to the site is not get clear. We missed the site and ended going through some very narrow lanes. It is right next to the football ground. We enjoyed out stay here. Wasn't too far from home for us. Enjoy
